1.) Please do not sign up unless you are absolutely sure you want to play. It gets frustrating, seeing new accounts made and then abandoned. Or worse, seeing people sign up, get a character (and put us through the paces to approve it and help intro it) only to leave a week later. This makes us very sad. 2.) If you’re not exactly sure how we do things here, just remember this: Think of play-by-post RPing as writing a collaborative story, but only writing from your characters’ points of view. In writing terms, we role-play in "third person subjective, past tense." Don’t forget, other players have agendas for their characters too, so be flexible to the ever-shifting settings of the game and go with the flow. 3.) Realism is very important to us. Keep in mind that your actions have consequences, even in a role-play game. If your character attempts a stunt that will put him or her in mortal danger, don’t be upset if that character’s death becomes unavoidable. In cases like this where you want your character to have a high-risk adventure and survive, it would be wise for you to plan the plotline out with your fellow players and make sure everyone shares a mutual understanding of what you want. 4.) We strive for fair play here. No powergaming is allowed. For RPG newbies, Powergaming can be defined “never allowing your character to be hit and/or never taking serious damage from an attack.” It is also constantly using your most powerful attacks against weaker opponents. In instances where you think there is powergaming going on, first confront the player and try to work things out. Maybe you don’t understand what’s been posted, or maybe s/he has a good reason for doing this. If s/he doesn’t get back to you, ask a Moderator for help and s/he will determine what course of action to take. 5.) Threads with mature content must be clearly marked with a capital “M” in the title. 6.) Failure to post as your characters within a month without proper notice will result in your being axed from the ranks. If you must leave for an extended amount of time, please notify the staff so that we won't axe your claims. 7.) Civilians with no abilities can be applied. Humans who have been found by their Trinity must choose an animal (even if it's extinct; as long as it had existed at somepoint) counterpart and a special item that can be easily worn or carried. This allows the character to use his/her abilities freely and by reflex. |
