Turncloak

Lord Erys looked at the parchment, his eyes filled with fear and hate. “Traitors!” he declared. “I have allied with liars and traitors.”

“Lord Martell did no treachery brother. Nor did the White Bull.”

“They mean to break the alliance!”

“They mean to do no such thing.” Protested Ser Doran. “Both are not in your grasp.”

“”How would you know?” he questioned, crashing a spotted hand on the table. “They’ll march me right to Lord Vanderly, I know it!”

Oh my poor, sweet brother. Petyr thought. You’re madness will bring your end. Indeed it will. “My lord it would be well to avoid alliance, for they may betray, but perhaps- perhaps they mean well.”

“They mean ill!” said Lord Erys. “As soon as we can I’ll have those two slain!”

Oh how very like you brother, it appears you need some milk of the poppy.

“What will you have us do then?” questioned another.

“Deny then this so called invitation.”

“But sir that might mean the end of House Manderly.”

“I am not in the habit of having my orders questioned. I will have no letter.”

“Yes sir.”

“Alright. Now that this is don, I want you lot out of my presence, including you brother.”

Ah, indeed Petyr was a known knight, but he had desires like any other man as well, desires, needs, wants; but he would not allow his brother to destroy his own House. Such was the nature of his brother’s madness.

When he came across the maester’s quarters, he peered inside and saw his brothers potion waiting on the table, he smiled and went inside, searching his pockets for what he wanted.

The next morning, he would be Lord Petyr Manderly, Lord of the Harbor.
