Now I haven't read all four books yet so I don't know if Martin disproved this but; could Jon Snow, the Bastard of Winterfell, actually be Lyanna Stark's son by Rheagon Targeryen? |

I don't know if you came to this on your own (if so, good job), but if not there's a good article over at Tower of the Hand covering this theory. Link

I remember being SOOO proud of myself when I figured this one out. Suddenly all the pieces just fit together and I thought I was a friggin genious; I was about to email GRRM himself or write on his blog to ask about it. On a whim I went online to see if anyone else shared the idea... and found that there were at least 2 sites that had already talked about it extensively (complete with citations and everything). It's great to know that other people think as much about the series as you do, but it deflates the ego a bit. Which might be a good thing lol... |

I never thought of that while I was reading the books, but when I started reading articles and stuff on towerofthehand.com and other sites, I was like "of course, it all makes sense". But you never know, maybe GRRM was just leading us on a false track, he has never confirmed nor denied this theory. But it really does seem to make a lot of sense and that is why I do believe that it is true. |

Oooo…. we’re going to discuss Jon’s parentage! Well, I have discarded the Jon is not a bastard idea. Besides, by the looks of things, Ned would never let ANY child die. But I think it is VERY likely that Jon is Ned’s half nephew bee family man. Ned always puts his family before duty and honor. They should really make the Tully words Ned’s words because throughout Game, Ned is always concerned about family. Cat was the one to make Ned become his Hand. But then…why would he be haunted by words when the promise was fulfilled? Could it be possible that he had a deeper purpose? But then maybe it would mislead us. Now, if Jon really WAS a full blown Targ- all that Valayrian tradition could have made the genes recessive where hair is concerned. But even so, he fought for Robert- to put him on the throne. Ooo….zI just thought of something really- far out maybe. What if Ned promised to take Lyanna’s kid but then switched it with Aegon’s? Once again that contradicts what I said earlier… But if you ask why he let |

Nice job figuring that out. I personally believe there is some truth in everybody's predictions, but I'm also positive there is far more to it; GRRM never takes the easy way out. |

Well i took note of one thing noted in A Game of Thrones that darker hair(Barotheon, Stark) would always show up in a child then light hair(Lannister, Terg) So it is likely that Black hair would come up in Jon's case rather then white. |
