WARNING Do not read this until you have read the fourth SoIF book COMPLETELY.

It’s been a few months since I read AFC, but at the moment I am re-reading GoT.
And reading I, would like to remind you of this series’ theme, the Game of Thrones. Only those who know the game well may win.
Only the most dynamic- only those who may change can survive, Jaime, Arya, Tyrion, they live because of change.
Cat’s role seems unfulfilled at the moment.

But anyways, I think that Sandor may be alive, not dead, maybe even our missing new PoV.
I remind you, when his ‘death’ was declared he called him, “The Hound’ not Sandor. GRRM is not the sort of man to go right out and say it. He is a man of metaphors. But I do believe he and Gregor, if alive, are destined to meet.Claw of the Wild pulled off mute characters, butthen…not GRRM.
Retired CHARACTER, what is CHARACTER? This is GRRM and II think that Sandor has changed and is indeed alive.

Also, good job with this one. I like the last Sansa and Brienne chapters. And I believe she says Ice- or something swrd related.

Gregor is definitely alive...the champion Cersei cannot use because...

1) He's not Kingsguard
2) If she named him her champion it would ignite all of Dorne

Sandor, well, I believe he's alive, but you never know with GRRM. The clues obviously point to it, but even so I wouldn't put it past him to mislead us. It certainly seems Sandor's destiny to fight his brother (although who will win I can't say...logic would seem to dictate Sandor, but this is GRRM).

I loved the last Dorne chapter; imo that would have been a good way to end the book (such a sweet chapter...the last words make me want to scream like a little girl).

Also, to add to your list of likely survivors is Bran...he has a roll to yet be fulfilled. He may die in the end (saving the world none-the-less), but he's sure to last for at least another two books.

There have been discussions about Sandor's being alive on towerofthehand and I agree with most that he is probably still alive. Concerning Gregor: A point that you left out there imo is that he is a kind of zombie monster thing now that wouldn't be welcomed as a normal champion. at least that's what I believe.

Indeed. After all, Ser Balon supposdebly has Gregor's head and is bringing it to Prince Doran. It is most probably a zombie of some kind. After all, they mention armor that they commisioned, which they were told by the smith who made it that no man can bear that much weight. And you can't cure manticore venom (at least that is what is implied).
I, too, really liked the end of 'The Princess in the Tower". I thought it was one of the best parts in the book, and even put it in my signature, as you can see. I really like Arianne and the Sand Snakes, specially Tyene and Sarella SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(if Sarella is Alleras).

I would love to see more of them.

Sandor is definately alive. He is too cool of a character for GRRM to kill off stage. I can't wait to see what is going on with Dorne. Looks like they are invading and starting another war :) Yay!!!

Will Danearys lead the armies?? With Tyrion? Realistically they have the best chance of succeeding.

Anyways can't wait for Dance, although, it's prolly half a year at least until it is done.

And what is the wierd fascination for all these undead? The Others' zombie minions, Cat being brought back from the dead, the Mountain possibly...

Really unique undead though. Wights are zombieish, maybe, but with loads of colour and flair. And UnCat+Gregor aren't your average vampire/skeleton/zombies...

Well i think that all the crazy magic things that are going on are all dany's fault she did bring back the dragons witch have been hinted at as being the source of magic.

I'm not a huge fan of the more "magical" aspects of the book - including the dragons. Every time Martin uses magic I feel it really detracts from the realism and brilliance of the story, and falls back to looking like cliched, stereotypical fantasy. When you start putting this amount of magic in, whats to stop you from just implanting magic to fufill whatever plot movement you want at all - thats how I felt especially with brining Cat back to life as Uncat.

I disagree; his magic use is perfect, a lot of fantasy authors could learn from it. We barely know anything about it, it isn't everywhere everytime, and it doesn't pull characters out of sticky situations 24/7 (or almost ever for that matter) as typical fantasy does.
