SPOILER ALERT!!! DO NOT READ UNLESS YOU HAVE FINISHED ISLE OF SWORDS!!! Okay, so you read on, right? That means you've finished reading Isle of Swords. First, if you're angry at me for leaving the book with that ending, well, you can blame my publisher for that. I actually had in mind a little more resolution, but they wanted to cut it at the empty cell. lol In retrospect, I like it, but I'm wondering what your theories are: What happened to Bartholomew Thorne? What if I told you the sequel, Isle of Fire, has a villain worse than Thorne? |

I really believe Sir Nigel busted him out. I mean, if my memory serves me correctly, Nigel left the dinner early or something for an unknown reason. And then later they find Thorne gone....It's just my thought. |

WORSE THAN THORNE!!!??? AAHH!!! Please don't kill Cat or Jaques St. Pierre. I would have to cry! Seriously though, do whatever you want. It's your story! I just love them. Edited for double-post. -Aelic Edited by King Aelic, Feb 16 2008, 09:40 PM.

I so need to reread the book, but I have absolutely no idea what happened to him. I remember being sorta frustrated that they went through all that hard work to catch him and now he's gone xD |

Well, someone broke him out. that much i know. it may be that the others will blame Cat, although i know he didn't do it. hmm... i like the sir Nigel idea. that's some food for thought. hey, wait, what if the worse guy busted Thorne out, and now Thorne is second-in-command of that guy's fleet. this is puzzling!

The only thing about it is that someone let him out. It's the only logical explanation, excuse me for going realistic. Bartholemew Thorne would have to have inside help to get out of a British base that is guarded by many valiant soldiers. Anyways, if Cat dies, I will definitely cry! lol SwordmaidenofRohan |

Hmmm...aren't you overlooking the most likely explanation? This was a devastating tidal wave. Such force could have easily killed Thorne, stripped him to the bone, and then washed his remains out to sea. |

He might have had an twin (the next villian that is even more evil) come and secretly get him out before the tidal wave, The twin didn't know there would be a tidal wave though. So it is a great cover up. That is far fetched but hey...I've read wierder things... I like it how he escaped though. It leaves you a emorable feeling of mystery. |

How do you know that he didn't get washed out to sea and drown? He could also be in the same room just hiding waiting for the right time to kill one of them? |

Nigel left the house and then, very soon after, the tidal wave thing happened. The next day, they go to look for Thorne and...low and behold, he's gone, the door's open, and where is Nigel? Hmmm.... |

IT'S SOOO NIGEL! It's gotta be! Hmmm...Maybe he's the guy who's worse than Thorne. Y'know, like those stories where the henchman takes over and dominates. And with a name like Nigel, he'll be indominable!!! Yeah, ok, I'd better go now, maybe lay off the caffiene for a while...lol |

The only reasonable explanation is that Nigel busted him out just before the wave. OR, you just threw in the fact that Nigel left the dinner before they found Thorne missing, just to throw us off from what really happened. Either way, there is a foul plot afoot. I could taste it when I read the last chapter.

That would be to normal and weak of a death for Thorne. I doubt it. I mean, you do write the books, Mr. B, but it could be that you're just trying to confuse us.

hmmmm.....death by drowning in a prison cell.....what a way to go. I don't think Thorne could have been killed off that easily.....the villians don't usually drown right after they've been arrested.......plus since his goon is gone too there are too many coincidences I think. Thorne was such a good bad guy and all. He had a weakness, Heather, and then his pride got ruined, and he underestimated Cat and Ross. Dying in a jail cell, I don't think so. In a way he is kinda like Ross. He would rather go out on his terms and not dangling on rope, if you know what I mean. He is one of my favorite bad guys. Never Alone, Tori |

I don't know what happened, but whatever it was, I don't think Thorne's dead. It would have to be one of those Jack Sparrow escape moments, but I think Thorne's the kinda guy and Wayne's the kinda author to pull it off. |

Evil-er than, Thorne? Like the Devil himself? Well, I agree that a wave of that force could have killed him and borne him out to sea. However, that still doesnt account for the jailcell being opened. Water wouldnt break open a cell door, it would let water through the bars, with no way for pressure to build on the door itself. Not happening...unless someone went and stole his body from the cell. BTW if anyone dies they HAVE to die awesomely... |

I don't think he drowned in the cell cause the water wouldn't be enough to break the bars the water would just go theough them. |
