IoS/IoF in contrast to Catholic Life?; Who represents who?

Has Anyone noticed that both series Mr. Batson published are nearly the same? For example, in TDW, Aidan was fighting Kaliam and was very skilled with the blade. THen, in IoS, Cat was fighting Red Eye and was also skilled with the blade!
SO, if they were nearly the same... In TDW, King Eliam & Paragor represent God and the Devil. But, in IoS/IoF... Who represents who? What do you think?
I have a hunch that the Merchant is related to Paragor in a way...

You are a leader. But you also know when to be a friend. With your sword at your side you fight your way through many battles until eventually you become the King of Allebe! Way to go!
Who Are U in The Door Within?

Strangely enough, when I took the quiz a second time a year later, this is what it came up with!

You are a Mirror Realmer! You are the first of the three Earth kids to come to Alleble. You have great skill with the blade, but are killed in the Final Storm. Luckily, you get to return and fight again! Well done servant of the King!
Who Are U in The Door Within?

Cool, huh? :D

Well, I personally think that Mr. Batson did not intend to have parallels between the books.... there may be a few similarities, but seeing as both settings in the books use swords, it makes sense that the heroes in the books would be skilled swordsmen. (Plus, swords are cool, so why not use them as often as possible? :P )

For IoS/IoF, I think he mainly wanted to show evil as evil, and good as good. It's like people in the world now. There are some unbelievers who do some really awful things. And there are people who are believers who follow Christ with all their hearts and do good. Granted they may make mistakes here and there, but they are generally good.
Plus, adventure books generally have a villain and hero - that's part of what makes the story. :)

In conclusion, I think we can compare and contrast the characters in the two stories and for fun see if any resemble each other. But I don't think we should assume that Mr. Batson intended for them to represent each other.

Anyway, those are my two cents. :)

I totally agree with V4C. I thought about how IoS/IoF don't really correspond with Christianity -- but who cares? There are lots of good books that don't, and those are some of them. Granted, it's really cool if a good book also tells the story of Christianity, but if it doesn't, it's "no big shakes", as my mom says. We like good books either way. :)

Do you know whats wierd? Every single book I read with Good V.S. Evil fight theme, I always can relate it to something religious!

:) Well, it's not really weird - I like to try to find hidden meanings in books too. Sometimes even if the author didn't mean it to be, there can still be some Christian themes in it, especially with good vs. evil plots, since those kinds of elements are so prominent in Christianity. :)

LOL. Yes, and doncha love it when people make the case a book is Christian then?(Extreme sarcasm warning) Yikers. Every book will have a good bad theme. A them V me. Even if that them is inside me. There always has to be a contrast in the battle formulated in the book. Mental or physical, or spiritual. There always has to be prominent sides. Or---there is not story. :'(
