As everyone knows, all re-releases of DVDs from the WWF have been edited, to "blur out" all the WWF logos and whatnot. This is VERY aggravating (like how at WMXV, Shane McMahon's whole fucking torso is a blurry blotch for his whole match, because his shirt had the WWF logo on it). But, this is not consistent. I noticed while watching the Ironman Match from WrestleMania XII that that particular WWF logo was NOT edited! Strange. I went back and checked, and, sure, enough, only one gets the "blur" effect: ![]() That one gets censored. However, this one: ![]() and this one: ![]() remain completely untouched! Why in hell would that be? "WWF" is "WWF". But, for some retarded reason, they can still show those two versions of the logo, but not the third. |

Wait, wait, wait... This shit is even weirder! I decided to watch all of WrestleMania XII, not just the Ironman Match. I found something VERY strange: Years ago, I had the "original" VHS of WrestleMania XII (bought in 1996, just after it came out). On the tape, it had all the "hype" packages leading into the matches. Like, for instance the whole video "tributes" to Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels, telling the story of what lead up to this match. Now, in the original version, the voiceovers on these segments was done by Todd Pettengill. BUT, on the "current" version of WrestleMania XII DVD (from the "Anthology" box set; I have volume II, which has XI-XV), they have been redone for some reason: with Michael Cole of all people (who, by the way, didn't even work for the company in 1996, so how much sense does that make?) doing the voiceover work on the video packages! Now, what the fuck is the deal with THAT? Making this even more odd, is the fact that Pettengill himself appears on the DVD! He does backstage interviews, notably with Marc Mero (where he gets into a brawl with Trpile H). Now, how much sense does that make?! Edit out the man's voiceovers, but leave him - in person - on the DVD?! File this one in the "WTF Department"... |
