Confirmed that Forbes is out.

(Um... Duh... O_o)
Ya it was very surprising................. So its because of Nuke that their still is an ongoing boycott against the show and that's the reason why he thinks this show will be canceled? :wacko
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah. IDEK what to think of that.

Actually the whole entire interview left me kinda.........meh.

All I know is that I finished that interview not thinking very highly of Forbes March, but.... *shrugs*

Let's just start this next storyline for the guys please and thank you.
I'd be more upset if he was sticking around. lol

Whatever, I still love maNuke.
Let it be said that Forbes March definitely knows how to rile up his audience. :P

The guy's a tool. Plain and simple. He may not mean to come across as such, but he does. And I'm pretty sure that if I knew him personally, I would hate him. Or just really, REALLY not like him. Just because.

BUT. Man was a good actor. And I like what he did with Mason. So for that, I will miss him.

But that's as far as it goes for me. :D

maNuke! :ftw

(Sidenote: It's kind of interesting that, after all this time, neither Van nor Jake had much to say about FM. They barely mentioned him at all, only the character. I would love to know what they thought of him as a person. I have a feeling that FM and Van wouldn't get along. :D )
Agreed!!

I'm sure they aren't that upset. Maybe that's partly why the dude's so bitter.
Add me to that train. I found the interview very condescending. Perhaps that's why I had a problem with Mason - I found his early interviews condescending as well.

I'm also considering the source (Wasn't it Branco) - who clearly has an anti-ATWT agenda. I found the question where he referenced Kish kissing to be very unprofessional. That's like a sports reporter saying "I know you just finished playing for the Red Sox, but what do you think of the Yankees who had a much better season and play a lot better than your team did?"

Woops, somehow missed the discussion on this thread. :P

Jake did say in an Emmy interview (a live one) that it was a pleasure working with Forbes cause he's a talented actor. And that was an add-on, he didn't have to say anything at all.

As for Van, he's had exactly two scenes with Forbes, IDK how much he really worked with him. Guess we'll see in November.

Also, yup. A Branco article. Who knows how much of it was manipulated and embellished.

P.S. Van can be condescending too. And sarcastic and snarky. *shrugs*

But he can be. But in a joking way. Maybe I should have put that. What I meant was, he can be candid as well.

In Paris when the topic of Kish was mentioned. He said something like, "I think Luke and Noah are unique and got something special...something more than those Fish people."

Not necessarily something insulting, but I bet you buckets of money if Van's words were transferred into writing like Forbes' interview with Branco, all the Kish fans would hate it.

I hate in general the "not gay enough" comments. Because what is "gay enough?"

I was just trying to say, some of what Forbes said, might have not been intended to be taken the way a lot of people are taking it. That his remarks, the way he said them, are how Van sometimes says his remarks. Come on now, some of his facebook statuses are like that.

And we're not attacking him for it.

I see what you're saying. Things can definitely get misconstrued. And I'm inclined to agree that I bet Forbes didn't come off quite that badly in person, as he did on print. We should take it with a big fat grain of salt. But I guess I just didn't think we needed to drag Van into it to make that point. Especially since I don't think he'd touch that whole "not gay enough" thing with a ten foot pole. And his statuses are never anywhere close to insulting an entire group of society. So I don't know why we'd need to attack him for them in the first place.

But eh. I dunno. Sorry. My mood is not so good today, apparently.

It's the truth, though.

I've met the man and he's a sweetheart but he can be a bitch when he gets pissy. And he's bossy. And condescending. And sarcstic. LOL. But he knows how to make that seem okay, IMO.

He doesn't front. ::shrug::

It's actually the thing that made me love him even more. He is a wonderful, sweet guy but he is also human. And he treats you like an equal not just some fan so you get to see his sarcastic, funny, bitchy side.

So I don't know why we'd need to attack him for them in the first place.

Van would never say a comment like that. Ever.

But I guess I was just trying to generalize it. Maybe I shouldn't. It's just Forbes had given exactly two very candid interviews since he's been Mason. One for After Elton, the other for Branco.

Both of those interviews were given by people who are anti-Nuke.

IDK. I find Forbes' attitude in general, not just about soap storylines or gay storylines or whatever, to be like how Van's attitude is sometimes. Which, in case any of you take this the wrong way, is not an insult towards Van.

I effing LOVE LOVE LOVE how honest and sarcastic Van is. Obviously, he really can't say what he thinks about the show while he's still on it. But I love how it sometimes slips through in interviews and in fan events anyway.

People are saying that Forbes's sense of humor or whatever didn't translate well in print, but if any of the candid stuff Van has said in fan events and from talking to fans in general ever went to print, it probably won't translate well either. That's all what I was trying to say really.

I don't even know WHY I'm trying to explain away Forbes's comments, cause I really don't have anything invested in Forbes as a person in general hahha. I mean, yeah, I liked Mason a lot and I thought he did a good job with what he was given. And I thought it was really unfair some of the flack he got for his acting when obviously he wasn't given the material to begin with.

But I guess for me personally, I didn't find as much offense in Forbes' interview than a lot of people did. I found offense in having to click on Branco's site to get to it however, which always fucks up my computer and, you know, the Branco-ness of it all.

But I do completely understand why people hated it and had problems with it. I guess I was just trying to shed some other perspective on it. Like what would happen if Van gave a candid interview like that of what he really thought about how things went down behind the scenes of ATWT.

It's okay. Neither is mine. I seriously am behind on everything in life. I've got this thing tomorrow that I'm super nervous for and trying not to think about. Then I come online and get caught up in wank.

I'm stupid. Haha. And lame.

But I love you. And this board, so :grouphug :grouphug :grouphug :grouphug :kiss :kiss :kiss :kiss

I suppose as a fan who has not, and probably never will, have the privilege of meeting him, those kinds of things are just really kind of jarring to read on a fan board.

But I think I will just agree to be okay with being confused though, because I know that neither of you mean badly about it, I just... wow. Generally, I'm not friends with, nor fans of condescending people. So, this whole conversation is disorienting.

But it's nothing bad about Van. Maybe condescending is a bad word to describe it. Is there such a thing as funny condescending? Or a nice condescending? Probably not since that'd be an oxymoron, huh?

I can't describe it.

I don't know I guess for me, it goes back to when I met them at the luncheon and I had to stand there for a few minutes while they argued about sunglasses. And Van was snarky and sarcastic. He was all, "Well, I wouldn't be asking you who's sunglasses these are if I knew, Jake." And Jake sort of just shook his head at him. There was nothing malicious about any of it.

I don't know, I suck at describing how I think Van is sometimes. :P

Maybe because most of my friends are bitchy and sarcastic and their humor is totally off the wall and when they get mad it comes out slightly snarky so I have no problem with any of those things.

And I have to say, Sara, I feel like your calling ME a bad fan because I don't see Van like this perfect person. He's a great, sweet generous guy. He's a wonderful actor who is always warm and sweet to his fans. I love him to death. But he's a PERSON. He has his bad days and moments. So he can be any of those other things at any given moment. Doesn't make me not love him. Doesn't mean I'm insulting. And I kinda resent that it's being implied.

Sorry if that offends you in any way but that's just the way I see it. I'm pretty sure you didn't mean it that way but it kinda came off that way.

No apologies needed. It was an interesting discussion you two were having. Both of you have good points: Some of us entered this storyline witha bias against FM (no doubt fueled - at least for me - by the same anti-Nuke people who cause all the trouble) so we have issues with his candor; we love Van so we don't. And dry humor can be miscontrued in print. So maybe we're reading too much into FM's comments, maybe we're not.

I think, however, we can all agree that Nelson and uses his column to further it. Nelson seems to have some kind of beef against ATWT, and he clearly favors certain actors over others. A/E I don't visit so I can't say, but people have said the same thing about the columnist over there.

BTW, clearly the only way to determine if Van (and Jake) are snarky and/or sarcastic in person is for them to visit each and every one of us personally and demonstrate. Preferably while not wearing shirts.

No apologies needed, Sara!

I didn't see it as drama at all, I saw it as a interesting discussion a well.

And for the record, I personally didn't feel like you were calling me a bad fan so it's all good for me. :D

Cause, you know, I'm so important and all.

Hee.

Thanks, Moey. I'm glad you don't, cause that wasn't my intention.

Also, you are totally important! And I hope whatever you had to do today went well.

:kiss back!

I can TOTALLY see what Forbes meant in the "not gay enough" comment. He doesn't mean that Forbes need to be like Adam Lambert. He meant that he never acted romantically/sexually with another man. And it confused him. (Don't know why Forbes, maybe you should have done research. :wacko ) BUT it came off really bad, the way it was written and interpreted.
