Didn't know where to post this but I thought maybe you would like to read a little bit about my first Nuke fan event. :)

Okay, where to start. Well, maybe a few of you know that I was a volunteer at the event. I helped them to decorate the venue, to put up the food and drinks for the meet&greet and of course afterwards I helped a bit cleaning up the place.

As a reward I got to sit in the first row during the Q&A and the raffles/auction stuff. Additionally, I totally ran into Van and Jake before the other fans even saw them because I walked to the staff room which was right next to the guys' dressing room and they were standing right in front of the two rooms. At first I didn't recognize them at all. Van with his hat and glasses and Jake was leaning against the wall. As I had almost already walked past them, I finally recognized them and said hi. Van said hi back, I think Jake didn't really notice me saying hi. ^^

Anyway, after I got out of the staff room again, they were gone. I walked back to the place where the meet&greet was supposed to be held. Before the guys were introduced one of the organizers gave a little speech. During that speech Van and Jake read a few quotes of the show, we had put up on the walls before they arrived. Well, I walked past the guys and walked straight to the other fans and the organizers. I totally spaced out and just stood a few meters away from the other fans, right in the way of people already taking pictures of the guys. LOL. I guess some fans did not like me very much for standing in their way to get a good pic of the guys. ^^

After the guys were introduced they let us know how amazing it is to be there, to get the chance to meet their European fans and so on. During the meet&greet I only got to talk to Jake. I was really surprised that I wasn't more nervous to talk to him or to look him in the eyes. He was like "Hi there" and we shaked hands. I can't exactly remember every word he or I said, but I remember that he asked me where I was from, which part from Germany, when I arrived and when I would leave. I think we talked about something else but I can't remember. ^^ After that he started talking to Bijou. After talking about being tired from jet-lags or something I mentioned that Bijou and I would come to New York next April and Jake seemed to be thrilled about that. He was like "Really? You'll come to the Luncheon. That's so cool". I also said something about us (Bijou and I) being the jet lagged ones then and he smiled and said "Yeah, a little bit".

A little while later the meet&greet was over because the Q&A was about to start. The Q&A was in a special room - the auditorium or something^^. Like I mentioned before, because I was one of the staff, I was able to sit in the first row, pretty much right in front of the guys. I really loved the Q&A except like three or four questions that shouldn't have been asked in my opinion. Of course the guys answered the questions as best they could. What I really loved during the Q&A was the thing with the photos. They made this sort of diashow and the guys shared a few memories and funny stories with us to certain pictures. The whole Q&A was videotaped and will be uploaded on YouTube, so I won't get too much into detail now.

Another thing that was really cool was that little scene the guys acted out for us. It was so great to actually watch them act. They re-acted the scene that aired a few weeks ago with Luke and Noah in the park. The one where Luke asked Noah how he could compete with Mr. Hollywood and Noah was all like "You don't have to compete with Mason", "The one I love more than my own life" and "Can I get back to you on that?". It was really amazing to see them get into character and to just act out a scene right in front of you. After that they did a French version of that scene. Only one word: Hilarious. We all know Van's "problem" with foreign languages. ^^. I don't speak French but I think Jake was actually pretty good. He really tried to be serious and act out the scene while Van really tried to get the words right. After a while both just cracked up and somehow finished the scene.

What I also loved was the association game. Jake gave Van a few words and Van had to come up with something. It was so funny because lots of times Van just created a new word or combined it with another like "habit" - "tad", "Grimaldi" "shipping". He also gave us funny expressions and sounds. Jake was like "That's not a word" and Van defended himself with "But it was the first thing that came to my mind!". ^^

Okay, last word about the Q&A. I soo loved to watch the guys interact with each other. You can really tell they are great friends and that's just amazing. How they were pulling each other's legs a bit. Like when they talked about Luke and Noah's wardrobe. Van said something like "Don't you love your Java shirt, Jake?"^^.

Oh, before I forget. They totally joked about Noah not getting wet after walking through the rain to get to Luke. It was really fun. "But he didn't get wet" "Shouldn't he be wet? Nooo".

After the Q&A the raffles/auctions thing happened. Van and Jake were there too and helped auctioning off the stuff and they also helped with the raffles. As one of the organizers told me later, the guys weren't supposed to be a part of the raffles/auctions thing but after the guys checked the schedule they were like "Raffles and auctions?". The organizers told them that they didn't have to be there, that they could relax backstage but the guys wanted to be a part of it and tada. There they were.

I won a thing called "Mystery box". In the mystery box were too coffee mugs. One with this pic for the 50th anniversary of the show and one red one with the Java logo. I don't drink coffee but well, I'll keep them anyway. hehe. Okay, what else... Just let me make a list: shot glass with the ATWT logo, bracelett with the ATWT logo, key chain with a small Eiffel Tower, pics of other actors from the show, this luggage tag thingy for that breast cancer thingy the guys singed - I think it's one of those you were able to bid on on Ebay a while ago, a medical scrub or whatever it's called with the Oakdale Memorial logo - I think someone wore it on the show because that little tag has names on it but they were canceled, a "to do" list with ATWT logo and a pen, one free photo 8 x 10 and the best part ever, a free photo with Van or Jake. More of that photo later. :)

After the raffles/auction thing there was this game with two teams. Team Luke and team Noah. I was on team Luke. One of the organizers asked questions and the team which answered more questions correctly won. Unfortunately, my team didn't win, but well... you can't have everything. ^^

Then it was time for the photo session. People had to get in line and wait for their turn to take the pictures. I got four pictures because one photo with the both of them was already included in the ticket price, then I bought one individual photo with Van and one with Jake earlier, and like I mentioned a few lines ago I won another picture with Van or Jake.

One of the organizers took the pics because she has this awesome, professional camera. The other organizer signaled her how many pictures she had to take of me. At first we did the photo with both guys,

then the first with Jake (I totally love Jake in it but me? Not so much^^):

After that things got a little - I don't know what to call it - I mentioned that I won a free picture and that I wanted to take it with Jake. I still had my right arm behind Jake's back from the pic we took seconds ago. As soon as I said that I chose him he was like "Aww, really? Then let's do this right" or something. As he said that he completely took me off guard and grabbed and squeezed me. It maybe took me like a second to recover. I had to put my left arm/hand somewhere so I pretty much put it on his stomach. You can't see it in the final picture but it was there, folks. ^^. Of course I squeezed back. Duhh... Well, anyway here is the pic (I know I already started a thread but I want to have everything in one thread :) )

Then I took my picture with Van (Once again - I don't like myself in the picture^^):

After the photo session, it was time for the autograph session where we also could give them presents. As you know, Bijou and I made cookbooks for the guys. Bijou gave Van his and I gave Jake his book. But first things first because at first I got Van's autograph and gave him a picture that I drew like six months ago. I already had sent him a scan of it on FB and he replied something like "This is awesome and hilarious". He immediately recognized the picture and laughed. I actually forgot to ask him to pose with the pic the first time around so I had to get in line once again but it was totally worth it. Here is Van posing with my drawing.

This is the signed picture (since my scanner is suddenly broken, I tried to get a half decent photo of it with my digi cam):

After that I went to Jake's table and gave him his cookbook. I think at first he thought that we had bought him some random cookbook. He was so happy about getting a cookbook^^. Then a few moments later as he was checking out the book's pages and stuff he took another look at the cover and was like "It says my name! It says For Jake!". I think that was the moment where he realized that we didn't buy him some random cookbook but actually made one for him. I guess that speaks for our cover and the quality of the book that he thought it was a coobook you can buy in bookshops. hehe

I asked him to pose with it for a picture and he happily and smiley agreed to do so.

Jake really liked the present and thanked me a bunch of times for it. I know that someone videotaped it and Lotsip (user from the wiki and here) will upload that video on youtube together with all the other stuff she's filmed. She filmed the whole Q&A and I think also from the meet&greet and stuff.

After that he signed one of my favorite pics of him ever. (Totally unimportant but he didn't have to check out my name tag to see what my name was :) )

Once the autograph session was over, the guys somehow managed to get all their gifts back to their dressing room. ^^. A few minutes later they came out again and we took a few group pictures which turned out really nicely. I don't have a copy of it myself, so hopefully it is okay that I stole one from Marie (one of the organizers). She posted a couple of group photos on her FB page.

This pic is so not mine!

Last but not least the guys thanked us for coming and they told us what an amazing time they had :)

So, I think this should be it for now. hehe

Oh, and please... don't steal the pics. Thx.

Yay yay yaaaaaaaaayyy!

I think it's awesome that you were a volunteer and got to sit in the front row. :D

Hee. It's also funny that you didn't recognize them at first. Probably not Van cause he had a hat on. But did you think, "hmmm, who's that tall dark and handsome?"

Love love how Van is standing that in that one pic. In the auction one. :P

And I've always though that Simpsons drawing was awesome. :D

And hahaha, how adorkable is Jake when he realized the cookbook was for him? DUH.

As always your pic with Jake is too effing cute for words.

Thank you for posting! That was a great recap. Every story I hear about the boys makes me a bigger fan.

PS: You take an awesome photo! And your hair might actually be better than Van's!

I didn't really look at the four people who were standing in front of the staff/dressing rooms at first. Then I looked at Van and a few seconds later, I finally realized who those four people were. I think I didn't really look at Jake. I noticed someone tall and dark haired standing right next to Van. I figured that had to be Jake. haha

Thanks, Moey. I am glad you like my Simpsons drawing. ^^. That one happened on a boring Sunday afternoon in April.

It was so lovely/funny/cute when he realized we actually made the book for him. Hopefully, the video of me giving him the book will be up on YouTube soon.

And yeah, I so love that pic myself. It's my the background picture on my laptop now :D .

I might have better hair than Van's? I don't think that's possible. hehe

You are welcome. I always wanted to write my own recap but thought I never would and now here it is. :)

Can't wait to write another one in April.
