It's crazy in the sense that people seem to want to ignore the fact that women are actually INTO it, like others have said, it's common knowledge that straight men love lesbian porn, but people refuse to acknowledge the reverse. And finding a M/M romance novel(or ANY M/M novel is down right impossible
Uggg, it's SO annoying! And then some people even believe because you're into M/M that you are gay yourself. Of course their is fans where who are of the women-liking population, but it's not always the case and it gets annoying when you're questioned on the fact more than once. There is this little section in our local mall's bookstore for Gay/Lesbians. The lesbian novels/"Sex" books take up half the sections shelves.
UGH! I knows! Let me see now My sisters, mother, father ext All think I'm gay Because of my "obession" Now, I don't know what I am myself atm, still figuring that one out but, really why can't they accept the fact that some woman LOVE M/M
Mostly my parents ask me. My brothers just snicker and laugh about my gay boys. I used to be into BBM so it was much worse than being into a Soap where the majority of characters besides Nuke are straight. You're 18 like me. Me and my best friend think that at this age, everyone is experimenting, growing, and question themselves on EVERYTHING. Not just sexuality. And until we discover and put ourselves out there, we aren't certain. Only time can tell, right? You got THAT right..
Personaly, I think people try to hard, even if I never have a 'definite" sexuality, does it REALLY matter?
I mean, why do we all have to be in categories?
I LOVE BBM, it was a nice wake up call for me, I realized then that I liked the gay boys ALL the way, I haven't watched anything hetero since.

Yeah, BBM was my FIRST gay boy fandom. I used to watch Will & Grace but I didn't *get it* then until I saw Heath and Jake on my screen. Besides the fact that I had the hugest crush on Heath for two years

And of course Nuke Nuke Nuke, I live and breathe Nuke D: If I had the time and the peace from my family, I'd probably watch some more QAF ep. but I was too young as well when it was airing so I wasn't around to see the episodes shown every week. And now the only time you can watch it is late at night on Logo. Sadley, I don't have Digital TV on my bedroom TV so no QAF up here
Well, this Nuke fan must go to bed. I promised my friend Em I would go to sleep earlier tonight but it didn't pan out that way, haha. Have a good night, Katie! Awesome convo. Funny how we were both on vh.net but we rarely talked. Anyway, talk to you soon!

Okay so I just found this like now (Hai Robin!) And I really think that research needs to go into the psycho-sexual phenomenon that is "Lesbos-wanna-lick-Jake-itis". He is just so...(insert your own mildly pervy word/sound here). The weird thing is I LOVE Van, adore him like kittens, but I just want him to be my BGB (best gay boyfriend), Jake on the other hand is just imo some of the best that the male species has to offer. I do think that his lack of bulk has a lot to do with it, but it's not just that. He's smart without being pretentious, dorky without being a loser, genuinely humble and you know he's ever so grateful for every opportunity he's received. And the fact that he loves his co-stars to bits makes him even better. In my dream world I would love to see Jake, Van, Billy, Ewa, Alex and Tala in one big old moresome where I run the steady cam and the craft services table. I don't know if any of this helped figure out the issue, but I sure as hell love talking about it! I think Jake just zoomed to the stratosphere of adorkableness during his recent Emmy stint, being the most supportive BFF ever. He wanted Van to win. He was DYING for Van to win. And if Van had actually been given the award he so richly deserved, Jake would have embarrassed him by standing on the ATWT table and cheering his ass off.
And I just fell in love with him a little bit more, if that's possible.
Perhaps this is yet another reason why Gimme Sugar girls will take Jake out for a spin.
Jake!
And Tonya-I love you like a pile of kittens and puppies.

And I just fell in love with him a little bit more, if that's possible. Perhaps this is yet another reason why Gimme Sugar girls will take Jake out for a spin. Jake! And Tonya-I love you like a pile of kittens and puppies. He really was wasn't he?
I think he was like, bouncing he was so pysched!
How is he human??????/
How can anyone that cool be human??????

This lesbian demands more pictorial evidence as to why we love him so much.

I't interesting too, how slash written by women is different from say, novels written by gay men. I think we love the hurt/comfort more, and are as not as interested in sexytimes. Heh, I am a terrible example for this. Both in terms of what I write and in terms of what I read. But oh well. I get that for, like, normal human ladies this is true.

UGH! I knows! Let me see now My sisters, mother, father ext All think I'm gay Because of my "obession" Now, I don't know what I am myself atm, still figuring that one out but, really why can't they accept the fact that some woman LOVE M/M This is so interesting to me, because I've had the opposite phenomenon -- people wondering how I can possibly be a lesbian if I'm into m/m smut. So if a straight woman likes gay male porn, people think she's gay, and if a lesbian likes gay male porn, people think she's straight?
That? Is awesome.
I think we should create a new sexual orientation category for women who are attracted to men who are attracted to men. Gay-sexuals, maybe? Homosexual-sexuals? Ideas welcome.

"I have been a writer since 1949. I am self-taught. I have no theories about writing that might help others. When I write I simply become what I seemingly must become. I am six feet two and weigh nearly two hundred pounds and am badly coordinated, except when I swim. All that borrowed meat does the writing.
In the water I am beautiful." -Kurt Vonnegut

*links arms with Indigo* hey sugar, let's go read some porn. Now, Indigo...both you and Monday write some pretty hot, smutty stuff-it's true. In fact, you have both melted my computer screen into a small, plastic pool.
HOWEVER-even with all the lube (strawberry) and panting and cumming and bottoming and ohmyfuckinggodness going on, you guys do one thing that male porn writers just don't-there's emotion there, there's love there, there's heart. Chukawucka, chuckawucka let's fuck! porn bores me silly, but I will read anything you guys write because you still write 3D, real people with fears and hang-ups that are also having really hot sex. That's what I'm saying. I mean "RU IN?" was wow, amazing as far as Nuke smut goes, but I still felt the love and trust Luke and Noah had for each other. The trust made it just that much more sexy to me, and gave it more of an impact.
And this is something that female writers just do better-thank god-along with all the delicious kink.
And hey-there's also a plot!
Just sayin'.

But I hear what you're saying, I do. Keeping the guys in character is extremely important to me no matter what acrobatics I have them performing. Because it's just better that way. But also a little bit because IMHO, Noah is hotter when he's dealing with his hang-ups WHILE having really hot sex -- like, he's just so turned on by Luke that nothing's going to stand in his way. But that's just my li'l preference.
And I totally agree with you about the trust thing in So? R U In?
So yeah.

Just popping in to say that this thread has made for a very interesting read. I had no idea that some lesbians had such a bonor (so to speak ) for Jake.
And I never thought about it before, but I was surpised at how many women there were in this fandom before I became a part of it. Sometimes I wonder if I'm the only guy here.
