Hello Michime I am Jamie and I live in a tiny town called Ponder in Texas. We are sick of the snow and ice. I have only been to Louisiana once and I went for a wedding. I remember it being very beautiful though.
Jamie,

Louisiana isn't really beautiful now thanks to that massive oil spill in the Gulf and all the crazy weather we've been having. Then again I'm in the Southern most part of the state and the northern part could be different.

Yeah I'm from a 'used to be small but rapidly gowning' small town so I know how small towns are.

Why do I have the oddest feeling I have heard of Ponder before?

I wouldn't mind some snow and ice. No work days for me!
Ponder is west of denton and our basketball team last year made national news when they won state....for some reason and it is also where the movie Bonnie and Clyde was filmed....well one of the cities anyway.

Probably heard of it from the Bonnie and Clyde movie then. They were killed in Louisiana so that's probably it.

I haven't read any Janet Evanovich. I work in a library full time as the YA Program Coordinator so I mostly read YA (young adult) books.

Oh too funny MichiMe!

I work in a library full time as a Circulation Supervisor!!!

Okay now that's funny! I have to tell you I hate working circ desk. You can't really do anything else as far as getting programs put together and stuff like that.

How big is your system? We have a population of about 30,000 residents.

I work in a county system--we have 21 branches--so we are very large-
Working circ is checking them in and checking them out!

When I was working at one of the small branches I did a little of everything-
I did circ and reference and book discussions and storytimes and even plunged the toilet! ;)

Now that I am in a large branch--we are more departmentalized.
I am in charge of circ staff and shelvers.

Wouldn't mind being back in a little place again---

I'm in the small branch in our system. We have 5 branches now with one more plan for building in 2020 I think. I work reference too which I love because it gives me time to build up the YA programming.

I will tell you this, shelf reading sucks! I'm sorry but it's a bane on my existence. My eyes go cross after the 100's!

Shelf read the 600 and the 700 today. I was so crosseyed after that I forgot to pick up our Wii after a program. Will have to call tomorrow morning and ask really nice co-worker to do that. Haha.

I watch the manga books like a hawk because I donated them to the library. No way in hell am I letting those get stolen!

We don't have enough DVDs or Cds to really worry about. And all are donations so at least it's not coming out of the budget if a movie or cd gets taken.
