Here I am imagining you drooling over a gramophone... Corva did a great job summing up the 60's-80's. Here's some that Corva may have missed (or I didn't notice Corv had) ABBA (they did Dancing Queen) Aerosmith Air Supply Bananarama (they did Cruel Summer) Bangles (a girl band, they did Walk Like an Egyptian) Bee Gees Billy Idol (very 80's, he did White Wedding) Billy Joel Billy Ocean (again, 80's) Blind Melon Blondie (she did Heart of Glass) Bon Jovi Bonnie Tyler (Total Eclipse of the Heart) Boston (one of my favorites, they do More Than a Feeling) Bread (lol I didn't know we had Bread) Bruce Springsteen (Born in the USA) The Byrds (they did Turn! Turn! Turn!) The Cars (I can't believe you forgot The Cars Corv! They did Good Times Roll, Shake it Up, and Just What I Needed) Cheap Trick (I love their song Dream Police) Cher (her old stuff, before she got all sugar-pop, I suggest If I could Turn Back Time) Chicago Crosby, Stills and Nash (oh heavens how they're 60's-70's) Daryl Hall and John Oates (60's-70's) David Bowie Dire Straits Don Henley (they did one of my favorites, The End of the Innocence) The Doobie Brothers (lol bandname) Duran Duran (again, shame on you Corv! Hahaha, anyway they did Hungry Like the Wolf) Edie Brickell and New Bohemians (they did What I Am, very 80's) Elton John Eurythmics, (very 80's, they did Sweet Dreams are Made of This) Fleetwood Mac (a favorite, they did Go Your Own Way) Foreigner (they did Hot Blooded) Genesis (they're either 80's or 90's) Gordon Lightfoot (his name sounds kinda Jedi, but he's very 60's-70's) Heart (they did Barracuda, you should have listened to it at least once playing Guitar Hero or whatever you whipper snappers do) Huey Lewis and The News (they did Do You Believe in Love) INXS (pronounced "in excess" 80's) Jackson Browne (70's, they did Doctor My Eyes) James Taylor Jim Croce (Bad, Bad Leroy Brown) Joan Baez (Diamonds and Rust) John Lodge (60's-70's) John Waite Journey (I know Cov already mentioned it, they're just so awesome, especially their song Don't Stop Believin'. I can actually sing the intro, which is saying a lot) Justin Hayward Kansas (very 70's) Lionel Richie Little River Band (60's) Mike and the Mechanics (might be 90's) The Monkees Moody Blues (First: They're NOT blues. But my gawd I can't tell you much about this band, just that it's all I listened to for ten years of my early life. I've been to three of their concerts, and my parents have Every. Single. Album. (20 of them) I know Every. Song. They're not bad, but I've just heard their music over and over so many times it makes me barf in my mouth a little now. I'm not kidding when I said this is all I listened to. I didn't have much choice.) Pat Benatar (a favorite, she did Love is a Battlefield) Paul McCartney (Band on the Run) Paul Simon Pet Shop Bots (they did West End Girls, a favorite) Peter Gabriel (Sledgehammer, very 80's) Peter, Paul and Mary (very 60's) Pink Floyd (I know Corva already listed it, but my dad is really into it. They have a really strange, different sound, I would suggest anything from their album Dark Side of the Moon) R.E.M. (a favorite, they did Losing My Religion, and Everybody Hurts: good breakup song lol) Reo Speedwagon Richard Marx (Endless Summer Nights) Rod Stewart (70's) Santana (they did Black Magic Woman) Seals and Crofts (60's-70's) Simon And Garfunkel (I cannot stress them enough, if you want some serious 60's then this is it) Starship Steppenwolf (I'm really, really surprised Corv didn't list them, they did Born to be Wild) Stevie Nicks Supertramp Talking Heads Tears for Fears (80's, a favorite, they did Woman in Chains) Three Dog Night Tina Turner (she was awesome in Thunderdome but anyway, she does The Best, I'm sure you've heard it) Tom Petty (was in a band called The Heartbreakers, highly reccomended, he did Free Fallin') Toto Wilson Phillips (80's) Yes (reccomended) ZZ Top (they're either 80's or 90's) I grew up on this stuff. My parents didn't start exploring newer music until 2005, I swear. |
