(I will edit/update this post as more stuff comes to my mind.)

One of my sorces for mmos is this site.
http://www.gameogre.com/
They give you a fair run down of these games.

Ratings: don't, poor, bad, fair, good, great, fantastic.

(note: don't really have a link for this.)
Now a list of the games I've played online that are free and my ideas on them.
Flyff: or Fly for Fun.
I play a healer/buffer of the game, and got to lvl 59. (lvl 60 meant a class change.) The fighting is boring as dirt. Gaining one level is a pain, and its worse as you get higher in levels. The flying in the game is the best I've ever done. That is the most fun, but you must be a min, of lvl 15 before you can fly.
Played this for maybe a year or 2. This is a lot like Nexon, so they offer other games as well, under the Gpotato name.
Over all rating: Good/fair. After a few months: fair/poor

http://corum.gpotato.com/
Corum: Another Gpotato game. Corum is mostly PvP based, but does have the PvE (player vs monster) stuff.
Again I played a healer class, this game is fair. The grinding is fair/poor. Exploring is fair. Can't say much about this game since it was mostly PvP based, and that bothered me some.
Played for a few months. Again part of Gpotato, so shares ID with Flyff.
Overall rating: fair/poor. After a few moths: poor

File size: over 1 gig
http://www.gamersfirst.com/swordofthenewworld/
Sword of the New World: Granado Espada
Think back to the times of when they first found the USA. Black powder guns, magic, swords.
This game is fun, and the music the game has is to DIE for. I LOVED this game and wish I could still play it. But it seems they got new ownership or something since the last time I played. Also the file to download has gotten to big for me.
This game also has a twist, you play a family of characters, not one. You can play three characters at one time, and control them all. (I played the Gaven family.) The elementalst was my main character in the family, followed by a suport character, then a wizard. Those were the 3 mains I had that I played all the time.
Grinding is fair on this game, much better then flyff, about as good as mabi if not a little worse.
Played this for maybe a year. Not sure what has happened with this game, since I last played.
Overall rating: Great. After a few months: Great/good

File size: 1.11 GB
Using the fileplanet link at an avg. speed of 50 kb/s it will take me 6-7 hours to download.
Agentknife downloading at avg. speed of 300 kb/s says will take him about an hour.
http://domo.aeriagames.com/
DoMo: Dream of Mirror online.
Very, very much like mabi. Only its setting is more chinese? Not sure.
I played a Doctor class in this game, but the cool thing about this game is you can mix classes. As in take a skill set from elementalist, and bring them with you while still being doctor. So have all the doctor skills and still lob that fireball. You make items using skills a lot like mabi. Monsters are really cute-sy at first, but gets a little better, also has feild bosses and the like.
Played for maybe 6-months. This is part of a aeriagames network, just like Nexon.
Overall rating: good. After a few months: fair.

http://lastchaos.aeriagames.com/
Last Chaos: Also an Aeriagames network.
Also played this game a while ago, last I heard it was going to get a wasd movement. Where before it was very much like mabi in movement.
Again, I played a healer class, (yes that ment an elf girl.) The game is a lot like mabi in that you can make items. I'm not 100% sure what all this game has, but all dungeons you entered in town from an NPC were all solo. So as a healer I could never do them. There isn't much I can come up with for this game. Grinding is fair.
Played for maybe 6-months. This is part of aeriagames network, so shares the same ID as DoMo.
Overall rating: fair/poor After a few months: poor.
(Note: also one I'd play again, if I'm still able to download and its not a hassle.)

http://asdastory.gamescampus.com/
Asdastory: part of the GamesCampus network.
Yet again I play a healer/buffer classed character. They have updated this game since I last played.
Grinding is fair/good, may be like mabi. Again there is an item system like mabi. This game seems to be set for pairs of players as there is a Soulmate system within the game. Just gives you skills you can only use on each other. This game has above ground places, and a few dungeons. The dungeons are wierd, they are like some out of this world chess place. Makes me think of Alice in Wonderland. You could also buy a shovle and dig here and there for a random item. All my info is kind out outdated and I'm unsure what has changed since I last played.
Played for maybe 3-4 months, I think.
Overall Rating: great/good After a few months: good?

http://www.planeshift.it/
Planeshift: An indi game.
You want free? It doesn't get more free then this. This game is always updating, and always being worked on, it is always changing and I have a hard time keeping up with it. This does look a little downgraded on looks. It does have an item gathering system like mabi. This game is heavy with RP. (RolePlaying) They want you to roleplay as your character. Character crating is mostly based on the history of him/her. What did your monther and father do? What did you do as a child? These questions are what give you your starting skills and stats. I played a magic user/healer. Last time I played they had maybe 3-4 towns, 6+ above ground areas to explore that I get lost in easy since there is no map. (as far as I know) as well as a few underground places I never got to the bottom of. (Most of them being under the main city.)
There server is given to them free of charge, so it can drop people from time to time, and have glitches here and there.
Most of the stuff in-game is texted based, you really have to ask the NPCs what you want, and that can get you really mad if you don't ask the right thing.

An example.
You: Hi
NPC: Greeting travler, can I help you?
You: Give me a quest
NPC: I have a book that needs delivered Marven over at the curch, and he may want a few apples with it

From here you might have to say "yes" "book" "apple" "Marven" or who knows. This has gotten me mad too many times, and don't bother with some quests.
Magic in the game is good, you get runestones and can mix stones to come up with other spells. You can be just about anything you want in this game, however a lot of stuff is still being worked on, and I'm unsure of any of the stuff, and what you really can do, or the state of how things have been since I last played.
Grinding in this game is much better then flyff, but is still there. I played a cat/human thing that was a magic user. There are many races to pick, but only a few have textures/meshes. Just like mabi, the race you pick desides your starting point. Also death in this game is very different, when you die you get taken to the realm of death, if you can make it out of the maze you get taken back to the realm of the living, if you die here you start all over. I've had fun with this game, and been very mad at it. Just talking about it makes me want to go back.
The games design looks fair-ish, I think its so low/fair end computers can paly it. (But it might take a higher end computer then I give it credit for.)
The download is fair/poor in size as its big (if I remeber) and they want some extra program to help you download-it/share files. But you can get the full thing without doing all that.
If you want to get into this game please PM me first so I can test everything out and make a good walkthrough on how to get the game without the extra program/filesharing humbug stuff.
This game also has a high learning curve, it took me maybe months to learn how to really play, the text based interaction being the worst of it. But again I'm willing to help you out on everything.
Played for over a year+ and may always go back to palying it.
Overall rating: great/good After a few months: great/good
(Note: This one might be my number one pick just because I've played it and always enjoyed it, every time I've gone back.)

(I will edit/update this post as more stuff comes to my mind.)

I didn't add that because I'm listing online free MMOs that I have played myself, not counting mabi. (guess I should have said something.) And as I said if I forgot any I'll add them later.

I'm gonna try out DOMO, if anyone else tries it look for Shones. I'll edit this if I have to choose a different name, but really have you ever seen anyone else using the name Shones?

EDIT:: Okay I made a character called Shones, not really surprised that the name wasn't taken. I chose the first server if it matters and uhhh that's about it for now, I'm still in the beginner area >.<.

DoMo seems to be getting a number of people from the guild here. I'm trying to download the game again, but the nice thing is I found the info I needed for my character. (I hope they kept my account and stuff) I believe my character's name is Zymerg.
After talking to Enow she does want to play DoMo again, she said that it was what she wanted to go back to before we found mabi.
I hope you will all enjoy this game as much as mabi.
Also I've remebered a bit more about the game, so here goes.

For starters there are 4 races. (Last time I played.)
Sylphs: Magic based characters, they float and don't hold their weapons, they too float beside them.
Sprites: Little characters, not sure what they are based on. But they look like kids.
Humans: If I'm right they are like every other game, balanced. Not sure though.
Some fox/person thing: I believe these were the strong based characters, not sure though.

When you make a character know this, the tall-ness of your character, eye color, hair color, and chest size (females) matters. Just like how in mabi you had ideals, this game has the same thing, but they are normal/every day quests! :whoops: Also your class and gender comes into play with all this.

I know that my info isn't much, and one sided, but I want you to know as much as you can before playing, even if it seems like something you don't need.

P.S. I'd also like to note that all this talk about different games, mostly aeria games, has started showing adds for there games. That or I'm crazy.

P.S.S. Also I have to remember what server (if you can pick) I played on. I hope this game doesn't limit you to making characters like mabi.

Here's my opinion on the games:

FlyFF: It really ticked me off because, one day, I just suddenly couldn't play. Their customer service is crap, by the way. Then suddenly, one day, I could play again.

Corum: This was the game we played while trying to get FlyFF working. It made me want to barf when I first started playing it, and it never got better.

Sword of the New World (also known as Granado Espada): They have fixed a lot of the Engrish that was in the game when my brother and I played, my favorite line being "Gun is a very attractive weapon." The music is awesome (I would show you where to download a couple, but I'm too lazy to look right now, but it's like a mix of techno and classical, I know it sounds weird but trust me.) The graphics are beautiful too (I totally made out with my computer screen once when I had my character selected.)

DoMo: I had a blast with this one. It was actually Dex who stopped playing it. Yes, it is based on Chinese mythology. You can fly in the game, you take off at any time you want but you have to land in certain designated places. The only drawback is the music. It sounds like a cat eating a violin.

Last Chaos: I can't remember it. I guess that means it didn't make much of an impression on me.

Asda Story: Still a fairly new game, and therefore kind of buggy. The English in it is so terrible that sometimes you have no idea what the hell you're even supposed to do in a quest. Even if you do understand it, it may mean something totally different. Say, some guard dude asks you to get 7 Wolf Pelts, he really meant for you to get him 20 Radishes. It was fairly fun, but also frustrating at times, it is also Steampunk, which gives it some extra points in my book.

Planeshift: Never played it.

I'm much more cynical and fickle with my gaming habits, so negative comments are meaner than they appear (or is that for objects in mirrors?)
