What does it mean to live your footprint in the world?

I mean besides literally shoving your foot into wet cement. Despite the joke, it is what we everyone wants isn’t it. To be memorialized in some extravagant or simple way; that is why we do what we do. It’s why we dress a little better, speak more refined, and walk a little different depending on the people that surround us. Because no matter how hard you try to convince yourself that people’s opinions don’t matter to you, the truth is that it does.

We are social animals; feeding off the interaction between other life forms. We find comfort in others, and there is nothing wrong with that. The issue comes when you want to remain with that other. Where just their physical presence isn’t enough and not only do you not want to forget them, but you also do not want to be forgotten.

Because it’s fucking scary.

The fact that you can live an entire lifetime and disappear without a trace that you even existed. That’s what you think, but that doesn’t make it the truth. You can take a midnight stroll on an empty beach and let the sand tickle the heels of your feet as you imprint it with your figure. Even if the water washes away the meshed grains they still flow into the sea. So no matter what you do there will be always something that will be a reminder that you were there,

That you lived and are still alive.

I don't know why I'm posting I know no one comes through this place anymore but I dunno. This place raised me, and in turn my writing. I just thought I would share a piece of writing I've done recently to show that this place even though is gone still sticks with me.
