Jessica merely shrugged and curled up on her cot, feeling rather annoyed. "Right, well... night or whatever." She then yawned once more and fell asleep.
~~~~
"....OKAY!! YULIA, GEEZ!!!" Shinta shouted as he then picked up Ezrak and flew off with him. "You're nothing but a stubborn FOOL! A CHILD!" He growled as his blue and flaming wings flapped in the air.
~~~~
"Faze Light...?" Jace thought back for a moment, wondering who that could have been. Wasn't he one of the heroes...? He shook his head. Maybe. Jace didn't know or care. He followed Aria downstairs, also hearing the scuffling.
"Yulia, just take a look at these... how on Carleon... records of the present..." Came a feminine voice, full of intrigue and shock. "I must read these!" Before Aria and Jace stood a woman, only about 5'6" in height and with rectangular spectacles on her face. "Hm?" She stared at them both with intense brown eyes, then took a step back. "Should have done this quietly..." She mumbled before reaching into a small pouch at her side, holding her hand there.
~~~~
"Dammit!" Glenn grit his teeth as he backed away after the barrier. Taini glanced at Solstice, her hands clenching onto her weapon's handle.
"What, couldn't wait any longer to try and kill us?" She announced as she bit her lip. What were they going to do?
Serenade also readied a great ball of energy, already wanting to flee. "This isn't good... we should try and retreat anyway."
"Yeah... Alchemy won't even touch this guy... and the summons can do a damn thing either." Glenn also stated as he unsealed his wings.
"Uh... who is this?" Kerri pointed out.
"Oh some stupid multiple-ass kicked guy." Ela shrugged.
~~~~
"Ze classic hotel huh?" Alma laughed, wonder what could be going through Zach's head. "Vell, if you say so. I vould like to go anyvhere. So vherever your heart iz."
~~~~
"Y-yeah... and to be honestly... it's getting a little easier to get used to every second..." Tsune whispered as she placed her head onto the back of the wall, feeling her own fingers slipping inside. "I mean, how can you really feel if I am feeling everything?"
"Because we're bonded..." Mai-Fei said. "We're just sharing the sensation... Isn't it wonderful?"
~~~~~
"Well... Nowhere else would exactly be safe, would it?" Zach asked, sighing. "We just have to go where we can... For at least one night."
~~~~~
"... No." Equinox said, forming an incredible gravity, starting to crush everyone, just to prove that he could. "You will all die here."
"... That all?" Valor asked, standing weakly. He shook it off. "I'll make this quick. I guess I should thank you for bringing me to a place where I could see my dearest friend one more time!" He said, vanishing, only to appear right before Equinox, his head gripped in the God King's head.
~~~~~
"Please leave." Aria said bluntly. "You are going to kill us all." She continued dully.
~~~~~
"In relative comparison, I just outmaneuvered you."
~~~~~
"Yeah...Night," Fenix said, closing his eyes. A new day came, and the set of tents was surrounded.
"Come on out!" Came a voice of an officer.

Jessica groaned and rolled over so that she was sitting up on her bed. She then walked out, rubbing her eyes as she noticed the officer. "Sir?"
~~~~
"In relative comparison, I have the ability to punch your face so hard it'll disintegrate."
~~~~
The woman shook her head, revealing a couple of needles. "Sorry, but with a goldmine such as this... You honestly expect me to leave this?" She asked before pushing up the bridge of her glasses. "This is a perfect treasure trove for any researcher, any treasure hunter... any scientist! I am not going to throw out this opportunity." She replied calmly as Jace stepped forward. "She told you to leave." He said sternly.
"And I still refuse. I would comply on any other occasion, but this is another story. Being in a tower with countless books and documents, and encountering two elves? It is quite the rarity. You, however..." She pointed at Aria. "Seem to be quite familiar."
"I just want to go to bed..." Jace groaned. "She's just Aria. She's been pent up here, okay? Just leave her alone."
"Hmph."
~~~~
"VALOR! YOU MORON!" Reis shouted as she immediately whipped out her flute, beginning to play a tune that would indeed crush any soul, no matter the soul.
Serenade decided to join in, throwing a powerful blast at the god. "Guys, teleport!" She announced as Glenn nodded, ready to grab Anna's arm. However, he was suddenly bowled over by someone, which caused him to activate the teleportation technique without touching Anna.
Before he knew it he was splashing around in the waters, coughing and spluttering. "Anna!? ANNA!" He cried out, wondering what was going on.
Swimming to the shore, Glenn plotted on teleporting back to the family, but when he crawled onto land and unsealed his wings, he found that he could not do it.
Why?
Glancing at his wrist, he noticed a band. A familiar, mana restricting band. "Dammit..." He groaned as he collapsed suddenly. "Where am I...?"
~~~~
"One night, right." Alma replied as they walked in together and paid for a room. Once up there, the woman managed to undo her hair and loosen up a little, a little excited as to what was to come.
~~~~
"It is..." Tsune squirmed slightly as she closed her eyes. "I guess being bonded isn't so bad. I thought we were bonded emotionally... but this was something entirely different. You're actually in my body..." She chuckled. "I just want to do things to do..."
"Well then... Do you want to take the wheel?" Mai-Fei asked with a giggle.
~~~~~
And what was to come you ask...? Zach appeared behind her, wearing nothing more than a silk tunic and pants. Did I mention the tunic showed off his chest?
~~~~~
YOU'RE FIGHTING YO FUCKING BRO!
~~~~~
Too bad Equinox was one core soul surrounded by a mesh of other souls. "Are you sure you want to do that?" He asked, revealing a soul, which took the form of a ghastly pained male. "Perhaps I'll let you watch the erasure of this soul."
"T-That's..." Valor groaned, Eternal Sword appearing in his hand.
~~~~~
"And yet you haven't." Eztrak pointed out.
~~~~~
"Look, there is a six year old girl sleeping upstairs, you keep bumbling around, and I'll have to reset all the safeguards that I've placed on my home." She said. "Now LEAVE."
~~~~~
Drake emerged as well, seeing a man in a blue outfit and a woman in a red one, contrasting his primarily black one. "... What is it?" He asked.
"You are the representatives of the Oracle Knights?" The man in blue said. "I am Lt. Col. Gustave Ryan of the Malkuth Military, commander of the Alchemist Knights."
"... Um..." Fenix blinked. "Right... God General Fenix." He said quickly.
Jessica raised her brows, now onto her feet. "Scion Jessica Gray." She then saluted the man. "I take it you are the representative for Malkuth?"
~~~~
"...And yet you're a dick." Shinta added as he then noticed a strange area up ahead. "Hey, a lot of people are up there..."
~~~~
"I still am very adamant with my decision." The woman simply said. "I am not disturbing your child, but if you wish me to leave, then I will so do so. But do not expect to have me left permanently." She sighed before turning away and going on her way rather elegantly. Jace shrugged as he watched, then noticed a slight falter. She... doesn't have perfect balance. Or any...
"Oh!" Suddenly a crash was heard, and the woman suddenly ended up buried in a mountain of books... oh and several traps were activated.
~~~~
"No!" Reis stopped playing, seeing her husband's soul wander nearby. She then took a step back, wondering what to do with Valor's situation. "Valor, just strike! I'll defend you!"
Serenade shook her head as she then nodded to Taini, who was very PISSED with Leo, who happened to have been the culprit of throwing Glenn into some other place in the world. Grabbing somehow him, her husband, and Anna, she teleported to her own home, knowing Irvine could take care of the rest. Dropping them gently, she then suddenly grabbed Leo by the collar and met his face with hers. "LEO! Have you ANYTHING to say for yourself!? What the HELL were you doing back there!?"
"Heh... hehhehehe... just trying to show some brotherly love, that's all." The youth chuckled, not at all trying to meet his mother's gaze.
~~~~
"I... I don't know how I could. I mean... would it just be playing with myself after? Isn't that a bit... mundane?" Tsune asked, knowing that her own rituals grew boring over the years thanks to Mai-Fei's creativity.
~~~~
Alma turned around and drooled. "Z-Zach... vow... you look absolutely handsome in zhat..." She breathed as she took a step back, her ears flicking like they were on fire. Herself was in a simple gown, also silk, but comfortable.
~~~~
"Gaah..." It was a couple days of wandering. Glenn had easily managed to suffice. He had plenty of water and food, and everything else was at the palms of his hands. After all, he was an alchemist.
"Damn... damn... can't get this stupid thing off of me... I still don't know where I am... I mean, I have an idea, but... I just want to make sure Anna's okay... and everyone else. They could be dead for all I know." The man flopped face first into grass nearby a clearing, one not too far from a certain Baticul. "This whole Solstice thing sucks. If this all didn't happen, I would have asked her to marry me, then we could have been actually settling down, having a kid... BAH!" He groaned, having been muffling into the grass. "Why does life hate me...? Honestly..."
"Correct." The man said. "I am the acting representative for Malkuth." He explained. "This is my compatriot from the K-L Army, Lt. General Gina Relse."
"... Right... Well... Ah... General Fenix... As I said..." Fenix said, feeling a bit uncomfortable by nature of the fact that he technically outranked the both of them. "So... Uh... What's up?"
"You came with a mission, correct? Let's hear it." Ryan said.
"A mission." Jessica sighed, half blanking out. She felt nervous, especially when she took a good look at the female Lt. General. "We wanted to form an alliance. You both know of Equinox. So let's cut to the chase."
"The chase, you say?" Gina replied as she turned her head to the outside of the tent. "Come in!" She called, not alerting anyone else before hand.
In stepped a young man, his eyes looking to the four of them. "Er... hi. I am only asking about this location."
"And you are?" Gina asked standing tall.
"Er... Glenn Atma, ma'am."
"Ah, the boy from the catacombs." Ryan said, immediately recognizing Glenn from before.
"Hey! You're the crop ruining punk!" Fenix blurted out, immediately mistaking Glenn from before.
"What crops?" Glenn asked as he placed his hands to his hips, already feeling pissed off from being accused. "I didn't ruin any crops!"
"Hey, Fenix, wait." Jessica held out a hand to his face. "This is a different boy. He kinda looks like him... Say, I wonder if he was that kid's younger brother or something."
"If you're mentioning Leo, I am his OLDER brother." He mumbled, not too happy with them. "Look, all I am asking is where this location could be. I need to get back to my family."
Gina raised her brows at the youth, then thought. Noticing his gear, she couldn't help but wonder...
"Hey, how skilled are you with alchemy?" She asked as Glenn sighed. "Enough to know all but one existent forbidden spell. Can I just leave now? You guys are really no help."
"He may be of use. Isn't he one of the Atma children?" Gina asked Ryan.
"I have no idea." Ryan said with a smile. "However, whether or not that is the case, he could be a prime candidate to join the Alchemist Knights." He pointed out. "My soldiers may be excellent combatants, but they're rather mediocre at the alchemy portion of their skillsets."
"Um... So... Are we talking business?" Fenix finally asked. "Because... Yeah, this is pretty important." He pointed out.
"Yes, we are talking about business." Gina pointed out toward Fenix as she turned to Glenn about the proposition. "Will you join our cause? To train our knights and aid Lt. Colonel Ryan? Your alchemy would be a great asset to us."
"And I don't give a damn about the cause," Glenn flitted a hand at them. "I'm just wanting to go back home and see my girlfriend. So leave me out of this."
"But this is for Solstice!" Jessica cried out.
"And my family is handling it their way. I'll deal with it on my own." He grunted before turning toward the exit.
Gina merely looked at Ryan, wondering how to convince the man to join the army.
"Do you really think you would be chained like a dog? Or perhaps I could give you some compensation." Ryan said, revealing a red ring. "In this lies the hope of the world. Those who have fallen, pledging their very souls to defeat the god king." He said. "There is one other... If you help me, I can at the very least let you borrow it."
"Talk about rough negotiations. I kinda feel shunted. Like he's more important than the entirety of the Oracle Knights." Fenix grumbled.
"I know... just a kid..." Jessica replied, not at all realizing Glenn's true age. Still. Of course she was fuming, though they knew better.
Glenn glanced downward for a moment. "If I help you... what makes you think that this will help our situation?"
Gina stared down at the man, replying with a calm voice. "It does not hurt to try. With enhancements in our army, we will provide great support... possibly enough to crush the God King. I am only requesting this. Not begging."
"And will you let me move about on my own free will?"
"You will have limited range. But the limits are wide. You may do as you please, unless you are on duty."
"..." This could be my chance. A chance to prove myself. But... Anna. ...No. This is a way to protect her. If I help out, I will be able to possibly crush Solstice, even faster than predicted. That way, she can be out of danger. Hopefully she won't fight on her own.
"I'll do it." Glenn announced, his eyes declaring determination.
"Great. Let's get him suited up and ready to go." Gina announced.
Later that evening, Glenn sat down at a rock, already writing out a letter. It was a quick one, but enough to tell of his whereabouts.
Mom and Dad,
This is a letter telling you of my whereabouts. Leo managed to push me into Malkuth territory. Currently in Baticul.
...The fact is, I can't come home. I really want to, but I ended up giving my services to the Malkuth army.
You're probably shocked. A man like me, joining the army? Yeah, I detest the army.
But, I feel like this time it is important. As a fighter, adept in all areas. I want to make you two proud of me. I may be a little up there in age to join, but it is a start, isn't it? Not to mention I was able to pass a few tests here and there to determine my rank. Wonder what it could be...
Either way, I really wanted to direct this toward Anna, but I don't know her whereabouts. I am hoping she is with you. I also know that she is illiterate, and most likely unable to read this letter without your help. So tell her for me that I'll be glad to teach her when I get back...
Whenever that will be.
Also tell her I'll be okay, and that to wait for me. I'm sure you'll be able to take care of her. Better yet, I'm sure she will take good care of herself. Finally, I want you to tell her that I have a huge surprise waiting for her when I get back. I'm sure I'll be ready by then. Just need a little bit of alchemy and the best stones I can find!
Well, I will write later. I love you all. I wish you all the best.
Glenn Atma
Of course, they were all called to a meeting, seven seats at the table, the Emperor of Malkuth, the King of Kimlaska, Ryan, Gina, Fenix, Jessica, and Glenn were all to meet to discuss a battle plan.
"Sirs, I wanted to thank you formally for giving us this audience." Fenix said politely with a bow to both the Emperor and the King. "Lady Jessica will be speaking on behalf of the Grand Maestro of the Order, and I will be acting as the commander of the Oracle Knights for the purposes of this meeting."
"Very well." Ryan spoke. "I will represent the Malkuth Military, however as a strategist, not a commander."
Glenn merely sat there, unsure of what his purpose was for even being in this meeting. He turned his head away for a moment, his mind practically addled with worried over everyone. Gina then bowed her head, "I will represent the Kimlasca-Lanvaldear Military as commander."
"And well... what Fenix said." Jessica shrugged.
"Very well." Said the King. "So what is the plan? The God King's forces approach Baticul with every day that advances."
"I had thought to increase fortifications while planning for a retreat." The emperor continued.
"Wait... A retreat to where?" Fenix asked. "Baticul is the last bastion of the free world. Any retreat would be the end of the era... The war would be over, and we would all lose!"
"To Earth... And destroy the city. Simple enough." The king said.
"And what of those who can't follow?" Ryan asked. "Forsake them?"
"An acceptable loss, Lt. Col." The emperor said.
Ryan didn't say anything this time.
"You're serious? How is any of that acceptable?" Fenix asked.
"...Fenix is right! Are you mad!?" Jessica shouted, suddenly angered by this decision. "Are you nothing but a couple of cowards!?"
"...Hey, cut them some slack." Glenn folded his arms, feeling rather annoyed. "It's not their fault that they are morons, risking the entire world for their own greed." He pointed out. "Look, I joined this for a reason. And that is to stop them. If you're making this decision, you BOTH are not cut out to be kings... emperors... whatever."
"We're not trying to sacrifice the world." The king said.
"The only way to win this... If we can collapse Baticul with the god king in it, the war will end, and we can return with resources gathered on Earth to begin rebuilding." The emperor pointed out.
"It's still too high of a risk. There's not any guarantee the God King would sortie for this battle... It would be far better to attempt for a rout and force him to lead the battle... Setting a trap rather than a retreat."
Ryan crossed his arms. 'Go on, go on.' He thought.
"Still, there's another way to handle this! Geez... what kind of strategists are you? What if it doesn't even work? This is a man more powerful than any force we faced!" Glenn cried out as he began to pace. "Why not just simply flank them and support the heroes of Carleon? If everyone was in this together instead of fighting separately, then we may just stand a damn chance!"
"He raises a point, you know... What if we utilize every troops' skills and potential and form a pincer attack? That or a triangle. The type of formation is usually most effective." Jessica added in. Gina merely turned her head away, wondering if this would be enough to force a change of mind.
~~~~~
"Probably nothing too exciting." Ezrak said, then, quite contrarily, jumping off to see what was going on.
~~~~~
"Right!" Valor said, doing what had, up until that point, been thought impossible: He cut the God King. Just a little bit.
"Is that all?" Equinox asked.
"Not a chance!" Valor said, feeling the face grip loosen. "Here I go! BOOT TO THE HEAD!" He kicked Equinox in the head... Rather ineffectually.
"Hmph... Just despair." Equinox said, smiling. He then crushed the soul into his hand into red energy, becoming ever so slightly weaker.
"TERIOS!" Reis screamed as she flipped her flute to her mouth, her wings burst and spread wide. Eyes black, she began to play. "DEATH'S REFRAIN!" She cried as she played, focusing all of her energies on Solstice, hoping to rip him apart atom by atom.
"..." Valor, meanwhile, fell silent, his face forming a grimace. He didn't say a word, instead splitting the sword in two, charging forward, completely disregarding the danger of Reis' rampage. 'He may have stolen what I'd wanted with my life from under me... But... Terios was STILL my BEST friend. You... I can never forgive you. YOU WILL PAY FOR HIS DEATH!' The man thought, his body not showing the fury hidden beneath. No, there was only one person who could possibly tell how angry Valor was, and there was no chance of them just happening upon the battle, nope.
"Hmhmhm... So you aren't afraid to die?" Equinox asked, smirking as he vanished and reappeared right behind Ries. "I might actually enjoy this." He said, raising an arm to strike her down, only for Valor to swing erratically at it.
Serenade was about to join in, though she was immediately cut off by powerful fire blasts at Equinox. "Hey! Get your ugly face back into the kitchen!!!" He lifted his katars, his wings allowing him to hover as Reis quickly backed away. Or should I say Eris. Because, she's not Reis at the moment.
"So the rats continue to enter." Equinox laughed, punching Shinta in the gut so hard that his eyes exploded.
Ezrak blinked, seeing the god. "Well this is new..." He said, unsealing his blade.
Valor, of course, started moving around like a madman, swinging at Equinox, who didn't bother to pay attention.
"Wait..." Ezrak stopped, seeing the man. "Is that...?"
"Yeah, it's your son." Shinta grimaced as he floated back, feeling suddenly sick. His wings exploded, wrapping the man in flames. "Right, I'm going here!" He shouted as he darted and slashed wildly at Equinox, easily matching Valor's speed. Serenade folded her arms, decided to wait for an opening.
Irvine had by this point, woken up, having been blasted by something. He stood weakly, realizing one thing: He had defeated his father. He could probably be considered by most standards, even if his sister were stronger, the strongest on Carleon. Yet, he had no place in this battle, and would only be a hindrance to everyone. "Sorry... I have to retreat." He said, shifting to Seraphim.
"This is too rich! Really, all the world has to offer are you weaklings?" Equinox asked. "There's not even any point in fighting!"
'So you're going to leave?' Ezrak thought, raising a brow. Suddenly, the god king roared with laughter.
"That face..." He said, swinging Valor to the ground. "You think I would let you retreat? NO! I am not a fool! I do not allow mercy on my enemies! Better to erase them than to let them become a threat." He said, firing almost exclusively on Irvine now, knowing he was about to gtfo.
Serenade cursed as she then flew at her son, throwing open a rift and pushing the man into it without a second thought, as she took the blow, forcing her through the rift as well. Shit! She thought as she closed her eyes, feeling pain sear throughout her entire body.
Meanwhile Reis stepped back, wondering if she would retreat as well. Except she wasn't wondering that. At all. Instead, she continued to play, destroying the atoms and even particles of the souls around Solstice, as well as endangering everyone around her.
Shinta swerved before turning to Reis, cursing. "Damn girl! Someone get control of her!"
Of course, there were two people who could do that, one was too much into his roaring rampage of revenge to deal with it, and the other, was just killed beyond death, having incited two roaring rampages of revenge.
"Hm? That all?" Equinox asked. "Honestly, I had thought there would be more of a challenge." He said. "But you're all just too easy to read. Now then... You girl, you will be the first to die today." He said, focusing energy and blasting at Ries, only for it to be deflected sloppily by Valor.
"Now!" Ezrak said, spinning his sword. "Radiant Dragon!" He fired a piercing beam of light from his sword.
Shinta suddenly darted at Solstice from behind, raising his palm. "Inferno!" He shouted as he released a blazing hellfire capable of incinerating most directly at Solstice. After his attack, he felt his arm suddenly squeezed by an unknown force. "AHGH!" He shouted as suddenly the arm snapped and pulled away from the rest of his body, dissipating into the air. "WHAT THE FUCK!?"
So, to be fair, Valor did stop for a second to help Shinta. And by stop, we mean keep going, and by help, we mean stab him right through the tummy to try and hit Equinox. Too bad he missed. So, instead of being gentle and removing the blade the way it came, he swung it out in an attempt to hit the god king.
"Honestly, this is a farce." Equinox said.
"You're a farce." Ezrak said, swinging his sword about. "Indignant Blade!" He shouted, swinging the blade... At his son and at Reis. "I suggest we take this chance to run like hell." He spoke, grabbing Valor and fleeing.
Reis cried out, having passed out. Shinta, bleeding to no end, grabbed Reis with his other arm and fled alongside Ezrak, unable to keep his balance with his flight due to his deliriousness. "Dammit..." He breathed as he felt himself passing out in midair. "We have to hurry..."
"No question." Ezrak said. "But... Unless we get a little help..." He realized they had been headed off by Equinox 'He's fast...' "I don't think we'll be able to get very far... So, any bright ideas on who to call for help at a time like this?" He asked.
"Not a damn clue. Except my own mother... and I have no idea where she could be. She's technically not even dead!" Shinta sighed as he began to falter. "D-dammit, we gotta make sure he doesn't keep up. HOW THE hell is he this fast!?"
~~~~~
"You... IMBECILE!" Aria said, grabbing Cheska, and then Jace. "Macy!" She called out. "Wake up! We need to go! NOW!" She shouted, running into the room, just as some chimeras busted in.
Jace coughed, having been choked slightly as he was grabbed. When he was let go, he suddenly found a chimera leap at Aria and Macy, causing him to immediately leap at it. "Shit!" He cried out as he gripped the chimera by the neck and proceeded to attempt to stab it in the throat to the best of his ability. Cheska also ripped away, deciding to help, despite being called an imbecile due to her lack of balance. Revealing five needles, she threw them at four chimeras on the other side, hitting all of them. With loud thumps, they fell over, deader than a doornail.
Then, just to be general dicks, more came out.
"Yulia, you dolt! I warned you! But you had to trudge along without any regard for the safeguards I've set... Now I can't keep my daughter safe! It's not like when I was pregnant and had all the time to set them without having to watch over her! I can't protect her AND reset them! You've destroyed my home!"
Jace then turned to Aria, having an idea. "Just focus on Macy! I can reset the safeguards! Just tell me what t-" Just then he was tackled out of nowhere by not one, but six chimeras, forcing him to cry out in pain. Of course, if he had lied there, he would have been lunch for all six of them. Quickly he attempted to move, but he suddenly heard a loud snap, followed by excruciating pain, as he realized that his entire left leg was shattered. Just as another paw was about to snap his neck, he threw up his other leg, which had a hidden knife, and stabbed the chimera in the throat. Yulia, can't die a second time...
Meanwhile Cheska, on her way out, decided to take down a few chimeras. Definitely not wishing to feel the mother's wrath, she figured she'd make another stop sometime soon as she made her way out of the tower.
Somehow, Aria was able to rescue all three, knowing it would literally be impossible for anyone else to set up the safeguards, as the monsters would ignore her and her only. "Wait just one minute, Cheska Lucia Light!" Aria said, her face as red as an angry beet.
Cheska adjusted her glasses and turned around, raising her brows. She had almost made it about a good couple hundred feet before she was called upon. "Yes?" She asked rather casually, though in the back of her mind she wondered how Aria knew the woman. Simply due to the history books, Cheska assumed. Meanwhile Jace was tending to his wound with nothing more than his own shirt, though occasionally glancing at his daughter to see how she was faring. Of course his shirt wouldn't help a shattered leg, but he had to try, right?
"You stupid insolent repugnant child! Don't you know to respect your elders, or at the very least to listen when people are talking? Or to watch your step at all?" Aria ranted as Macy started to cry. "Ugh! Dammit! Now look what you've done! Apologize to your great-great-great-aunt!"
Wait, say what now?
"...Aunt?" Cheska glanced at the woman. "And how would you even know of my own lineage? Especially when I don't?" She asked, her eyes now stern as she turned away to walk out. "Honestly, you want me to believe such a thing? I will apologize, but not for my own clumsiness. It's not something I can help, and if you would understand such without being an unsympathetic twit, then I would be more respectful."
In return, Jace merely was confused. "Great-Great-Great... aunt? You know her?" He asked Aria.
"She's my granddaughter, separate by." Aria said. "She died roughly 1600 years ago, and is being a little brat." She continued. "You are going to pay for what you've done!"
"You did something?" Macy asked Cheska. "Is that why we had to leave home?"
The woman looked to Macy, then Aria. "...Yes, I did something. But do not condemn me for it." Cheska then sighed. "I do not give a damn who you are in relation to me. You could be my mother, and I wouldn't care. But one thing I do know. Do not play that card with me. I had a daughter who was kidnapped at the age of four. I had a younger daughter who underwent a fucked up experiment. You should consider yourselves lucky." She then began her way off toward wherever, tired of dealing with Aria's berating.
Aria walked up to Cheska and slapped her. "Whine, why don't you?" She asked. "Look, child, you can act indignant, but this world is hell at the moment, dying painfully, and I was doing the best I could to protect her from that pain. Now consider that before you tell us to consider ourselves lucky. Do you have any idea how difficult it is to have lived through the tormentulous changes the world has gone through over the years?" She asked. "Be grateful you lived when you did and no sooner or later."
Cheska grit her teeth, feeling pain shoot through her body, rattling it. Losing her balance, she fell onto her rump. "It was in a similar state... or have you forgotten, Jenna?" She asked, fully intent on attacking her. Blame her 200 IQ. "The world was desolate when Solstice arrived. No different than now. Sure, he wasn't existent this long, but... At least your child is safe. She will continue to be safe. Now I must take my leave." With that she stood onto her feet and ran as fast as she could, leaving them all in the dust. She would be back... She. Would. Be. Back.
Jace grit his teeth, standing up onto his feet as well. Foot. "Coward!" He cried as he unsealed his wings, not able to run at this point. He then left for the woman, hoping to catch her before it was too late.
Was it too late?
Aria shrugged. "That is not my name." She said rather calmly, only to do the most rational thing. 'These texts are far too dangerous... I hate having to do this... But...'
Several minutes later, there was a pyre a mile tall that could be seen from those that were almost worlds away.
Cheska widened her eyes at the site, then cursed, taking off anyway. Jace followed for a good hour, then sighed, having lost her in the darkness, as the sun had set during that time. He then sat down, his eyes roaming every which way as he simply contemplated. About what, you ask? Absolutely nothing. "Dammit..." He sighed. So... she's... over 1600 years old....? That's... that's pretty old. Why would she even WANT to bother with me? Oh Yulia... Jace thought. Thought she was a damn cougar. Grumpy and bookish, but a cougar. Hmph. Oh well. At least they got out okay. Don't know where they would go now... He shrugged before he stared off into space.

"... You are a generally Horrible person." Derrick said, unable to ignore the fact that Leo was wearing Equinox's insignia on his shoulder. "You know what? Taini... Leave him... He's no longer a part of this family."
'I'LL KILL YOU!' Anna shouted, summoning a bunch of spirits, proceeding to unload the entirety of all her spirits' powers on the brat.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!" The youth screamed as he felt the existing pain of ALL THE DAMN SPIRITS on him. Taini did not do anything but instead step back, watching the demise of her own son. "What did I do wrong?" She asked softly as she looked to her husband.
"Nothing... Maybe he was just... A bad egg..."
'BLAST HIM AGAIN, AHHHHHHHH!'
Again Leo was blasted, and of course after a couple of moments, he was lying still. Taini wondered if she herself was crying, but she realized she couldn't. She then placed a hand on Anna's shoulder, frowning. "Please, we should go inside, Anna. You need to calm yourself."
'But... He could have killed him!' Anna pleaded. 'I need to kill that brat again! More!'
"He's probably..." Taini just dragged the woman back to the house, then threw her in. After Derrick entered, she shut the door and locked it. "Glenn's fine. I'm not sure where he ended up, but I'm pretty sure he will find his way back here by the end of the day." She then unsealed two white wings, then closed her eyes. "...Dammit. I can't sense him anywhere."
Meanwhile, Leo groaned, feeling nothing but pain as he struggled onto his feet, deciding to take the cowardice path and flee from the house, knowing that he was now no longer part of the family.
'Ugh... I swear... If that rat's not dead, I'll kill him the next time I see him!' Anna groaned from the corner she had been put in.
"... You know, I know your parents teased him, but they did NOT do anything bad enough to warrant Leo's behavior." Derrick said, sitting down. "I can't believe him."
Taini sat down as well, placing her chin onto her arms as her head was on the counter. "You're right, Dear. I just don't know what became of him. Hopefully he had been taught, but what he did to Glenn... I really hope he would be okay." She then stood onto her feet. "In fact, I really should look for him. You two should stay here. I'm going to head out for awhile. Right before dinner, okay?"
"Stay safe." Derrick said, walking up and giving his wife both a hug and a kiss. "I'll make sure to have something good waiting for you."
'Wait! I'm coming too!' Anna motioned, summoning Aska.
Taini smiled and kissed Derrick in return, embracing him tightly. "Thanks. I'll make sure to pick up after dinner." She then turned to Anna and placed a hand on the back of her head. "Alright. Just don't try and get yourself hurt! It's going to be pretty damn dangerous." She stated before running out the door and taking off into the air.
About a good two days later and much searching in all the areas that Glenn would most likely be in, Taini sighed, sitting at a bench in Keterburg. Of course she was angry. She had no idea where her son could be, and due to the attached bracelet on Glenn, which was irreversible unless John or Serenade had a hold of it, she could not sense him.
As she took a sip of her hot cocoa, she noticed a bird flying to her, with a letter in its beak. "Hm?" She then walked to it and knelt down in the snow, taking the letter out of its beak. "Thanks." She stated as she patted its head. She then opened the letter and began to read, then called over Anna. "Anna! Over here! I have a letter from Glenny!"
'Huh?' Anna blinked. 'A letter? Really? You mean he's safe?' She asked, seeming excited.
"Yes... he's safe... It was sent just a few hours ago... damn these birds are fast." Taini replied as she looked to Anna, then finished reading. As she did, her face completely fell. "Oh Yulia... he was dragged into the military." She breathed, "He said for us not to worry, and that he wants you taken care of... and that this was for the best." She merely took a step back, confused. Why would he join the army? He was so against it...
'Wait... Where?' Anna asked, blinking. 'I need to find him! He always dies when I'm not around!' She huffed. 'I need to go make sure he doesn't die on me!'
Of course Taini just slapped her forehead and continued. "Any excuse to be with him huh?" She asked as she then pocketed the letter. "He will be okay. Despite his size, he packs more of a punch than most anyone. But he's located in Baticul at the moment. This should make things a lot easier." Unsealing all of her wings, she then grasped Anna by the wrist and smirked. "Next stop, Baticul!" With that they teleported in a flash, having landed near the military outpost.

"It... Isn't really anything that special... Is it?" Zach asked, blinking, a little red. "Erm... Mrs. Torenn?" He asked.
"Heh, it iz! I like how it looks on you..." Alma replied as she placed her hands onto his arms and kissed him. Pulling back she decided to ask, "So vhen vaz ze last time zhat ve...?"
"I don't know... A few days?" Zach asked. "Either way... It's been far too long."
"A few dayz... yes, it haz." Alma laughed as she suddenly leaped at him, tackling him onto the bed. "Love you." She whispered as she nuzzled his neck happily.
"But today's our day... And not a thing will ruin it." Zach said with a smile.
"Not a zhing?" Alma asked as she continued to nuzzle and rub against him. "I just, vant to be vith you in any vay, whatsoever. Iz it too much to ask of ze vorld?"
"Yeah..." Zach sighed. "Maybe we should... Just get on a ship out of here... Go to Earth and live there or something." He said. "Not sit around here any longer." He muttered. "But... Let's not worry of that now." He said with a smile. "This is our time." He said as he kissed her.
"Hm..." Alma smiled and nodded, kissing him in reply. She wrapped her arms around him, placing her cheek against his as her ears flicked. "Zhough it soundz vonderful. I vould like to make ze trip tomorrow. No vorriez. Perhaps bring your parents along? I know you do not vish for me to speak of it, but..."
"Yeah... Just leave this hellhole before it's too late." Zach said. He kissed the spot where her jawbone ended over the neck, hugging her close. "We won't have anything to worry about there, will we?"
"No, not a zhing. Apparently I heard zhat Earth vaz considerably safe now. Perhaps ve can just live zhere for a long vhile. And vell... um..." Alma flushed slightly. "Possibly someday raize a family?" She asked as she then playfully bit his lip.
"Well... We're married, right?" Zach asked. "But do we really want to do that?" He suddenly asked in a different voice. "Fleeing just wouldn't be right."
"Hm?" Alma blinked, then turned her head away for a moment. "Vhy are you suddenly saying zhat?" She asked, wondering why the change of voice. "Fleeing vould be right. Zhis vorld iz going to die. Vhy not continue our livez elsevhere."
"If you can do something to change that, you shouldn't run." Zach said. "We have the power to stop the decay... We just need to remove the singular obstruction." He pointed out.
"And just how, huh? I can barely uze anyzhing! I'm not strong enough..." Alma replied to Zach. "Just... Zach, are you ze same person? Are you okay? You're acting silly!"

Fuck it, I don't know what to do with this side. The ham sammich landed next to him, I guess, exactly in the state it had been in 7 years prior.
Glenn blinked, deciding not to touch the ham sammich at all. Until he decided to pick it up anyway. Moving forward, he reached a tent site. He may as well asked where he was, right?

"You have plenty of power." Zach said with a smile. "All you need to do is look for it." He said. He gripped her hand. "Alms... Come on. Let's go... Before it becomes too late... We have a ship to stop... We can't let everyone be used as bargaining tools."
"Bargaining... toolz? Ship to stop? Can you explain zhis a little better?" Alma replied as she clenched onto the man's hand, very confused suddenly. "Yulia, you are insane. But... I must be insane az vell to be joining you in zhis."
"Just... Surely you heard... People speaking of the private escape vessel of the king and the emperor..." Zach said. "The whispers and worries that the people will be left behind with the upcoming battle... Surely we must do something about that."
"...Zhat iz true. How can ve... Possibly? I mean, just throw bombz at it? Izn't zhat a bit silly?" Alma asked before walking out of the door, ready to do whatever crazy thing they were talking about. "So much for ze honeymoon. Oh well."
"We'll have plenty of time for it... I know a way." Zach said, hugging her. "And... This won't take very long either."
"A vay?" Alma asked as she hugged the man back. "You seem so clever for this. It iz like you know vhat iz truly going on. I admire zhat. If ve vere in a different situation, you vould make a great Politician."
"... We both know I would rather not." Zach said. "I mean, we'll have a way to spend time together... So that there won't be any interruptions." He said. "Do you hear any empty space underground?" He asked.
"Eh?" Alma blinked as her ears flicked. "Uh... yeah. So what, do we go underground from zhere?" She asked as she pointed her palm at the location of the source of the slight noise.
"We need to find a way to the place." Zach said, crossing his arms. "It must be an underground hangar... I can't even hear a thing of it over the noise of people."
"Noize of..." Alma sighed as she furrowed her brows. "I am not looking forward to zhis at all." She whispered as her palm glowed. "I can always blast the ground so a hole can form."
"No... Then we'd risk hurting people, wouldn't we?" Zach asked, looking around. "Hm..." He started pathfinding until he noticed a condemned building. "Is it here?" he asked.
"..." Alma listened again, then nodded. "Bingo. Talk about master super-sleuzhing skillz!" She giggled as she ran ahead into the building, wondering where to go from there.
"Hm..." Zach said. "We have to find some stairs down, don't we?" He asked, closing his eyes, and wondering when SHE would appear.
Alma continued her way, sniffing the air. Growing frustrated, she sighed and walked forward. "It's a wonder... how I can't even find a damn set of stairs. Sometimes I wonder what the fuck is wrong with me."
"Well they're completely hidden... It's a secret way, isn't it?" Zach asked. "Probably guarded too..." He sighed.
"Probably, but it's nothin' fer ya. And me, of course!" Alma laughed. "This will be a piece of cake! Just ya wait, Gary!" She laughed maniacally.
"Oh, so you've arrived." Zach said, smiling. "It took you long enough." He laughed. "So... There's a ship down there... One we'll destroy, yes?"
"Huh? Yeah, of course! S-sorry though, I was jus' takin' a light snooze! Is that a problem?" Alma replied as she flushed slightly. "C-c'mon. Either way we have to deal with a lot of shit. An' the faster we do it, the faster I can jus' laze around!"
"True enough..." Zach said, looking down. "But... now we should go down and destroy some ships."
Alma nodded as she then pointed at some stairs. "Here we go! Hurry, hurry!" She cried out as she ran down.
As they got into the deeper depths, some men in black uniforms, some with blue highlights, some with red ones. "So, I guess that's the royal guard... Isn't it?" Zach asked. He continued to sneak forward. "Wow, look at that, real ritzy ship... Be a real shame to see it go up..." He threw a rock in one direction, hoping to alert the royal guard and sneak in while they were distracted.
Except that the rock smashed into the royal guard's head, immediately knocking him out cold. Alma snickered for a moment before sneaking past him, seeing a few more guards. "Guess this is my domain." The woman whispered before disappearing out of nowhere. She then poked a guy from behind, causing him to whirl around. "Huh!?"
Only to face sudden fist to face smashing. Breaking his nose, she floored the guard and sighed. "Let's move on."
~~~~~
'Aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!' Anna exclaimed, feeling dizzy and confused and spears pointed at. 'Ugh... Why they doing that?'
"Who are you people?" A soldier asked.
"Taini Atma and Anna... shit, you don't have a last name." Taini sighed as she shook her head. "Either way, we are here to see my son, Glenn Atma." Taini announced with a clenched fist. If the soldier were to refuse, she would deck him.
~~~~~
Of course, Aria soon approached Jace. "Ugh... I cannot believe this..." She muttered, closing her eyes.
Jace turned his head to the woman, frowning. "Sorry... I couldn't stop her." He breathed. "Where are you going with Macy...?" He decided to ask.
"Don't know." Aria said, holding her daughter, who was sleeping. "There isn't really anywhere safe now, is there?"
"The world is that bad, huh?" Jace asked as he had apparently wrapped his entire leg with bandages. His splint was the only thing keeping him from screaming. "Actually..." He grit his teeth as he stood onto his good leg. "I bet you anything there is a place that will not be touched. Heimdall."
"... Only in our dreams." Aria spoke. "The God King has set up his base there." She explained. "Going in would be suicide."
"Seriously!?" Jace jumped at the thought. "Why would... he..." Jace then moved forward. "Not sure where to go. You know the world more than me. I just rather see the two of you safe." When you do, I should get back to Heimdall...
"He who controls the World Tree can rule the world. Aria pointed out. "I don't want to expose Macy to the world yet... It just isn't safe right now..." She sighed.
"You may just have to Aria." Jace replied. "If there is nowhere to go, then what can you do about it?" He grunted before hopping away from the woman.
"That is... A very good question." Aria sighed, closing her eyes. "Macy... You're about to be flung into a world full of pain and suffering... I had wished I could better prepare you for it..."
"She will be okay." He replied. "She can't die. In fact, she won't." He smiled for Aria as he then pointed out to the woods. "Guess your best bet would be the woods. I can at least prepare a tent. Sure, they may suck compared to the Pipsqueak's work, but it's something isn't it?" He asked before hopping along.
"I suppose that we can do that for now." Aria sighed. "The woods will hopefully be safe for the night... Then we can find another place."
"Yeah, until something goes right." Jace replied. Later in the evening, the tent was built from simple animal skins and furs, and a tiny fire was built outside, not large enough to alert anything from more than five hundred feet away. Sitting across from the fire, he stretched out his broken leg as he stared at the flames, deep in thought. What IS my purpose of coming back? Is it to... go back to Heimdall? That village was mine... I was supposed to rebuild it from the ground up!
"Tomorrow..." Aria said, coming out from the tent. "We're heading to the city of Baticul... It's fortified, so we may be able to plan out from there."
"Huh? Baticul... I've never been there," Jace admitted as he closed his eyes. "I'm sure with flight it shouldn't take too long. Give or take several hours..." He fidgeted, wondering what to say to her. He really wanted to question her own identity, but decided against it. He just wanted to relish the time they even had.
"It's a bit of a ways... But it may take a day or two... We need to account for Macy." Aria pointed out. "But... She's covered up and has earmuffs to protect her from loud noise."
"True. I can carry her quite a ways." Jace replied as he then scooted over to Aria, feeling pain shooting up. "I'll make sure she's safe, okay? Glad she is sleeping well though."
"It's not just that... She's easily exhaustible... I think she may have contracted TB from an old book." Aria explained. "In the state of the world, it's been impossible to obtain a cure."
"..." Jace lowered his head, feeling very worried suddenly. "TB? ...Great." He sighed. "There wasn't really a cure for it back then either. My mother died from it." He explained. "Maybe just some potent healing could do the trick. I mean, Glenn did mention that his grandmother was a goddess... maybe he is telling the truth." He pointed out before lying on the ground, deciding to sleep outside for the night.
"Well there has been a cure for many centuries. It seems to be her fault if she didn't seek them... But nowadays there's no way to get a cure."
Jace sighed, realizing that whatever came from the woman's mouth frustrated him. "Maybe there is." He told her simply as his head flopped onto the ground. You have to have faith. Dammit, if you don't do anything about it, then I will, no matter how pointless it would be. At least I'm trying. Bah. Sometimes I wish I was still dead. Then I wouldn't know about any of this. He thought sadly.
"I have been seeking it for quite a while. The God King makes it difficult to say the least." Aria sighed. "But... I will continue to seek it."
Jace nodded, feeling like he didn't even want to speak with her any longer. He merely closed his eyes, waiting for an opportunity for her to turn in.
Suddenly, a weak fit of coughing could be heard from the tent "Oh no... Macy..." Aria mumbled, standing and walking into the tent to check up on the young girl.
Macy's face was a little red, and as she coughed, her eyes began to open, the fit having awoken her. "Mommy..." She said in a coarse voice. "My chest hurts..." She continued to cough, a little blood coming up.
"Just relax, Macy..." Aria said, rubbing the girl's back. "Hey, can you get some water?" She asked.
Jace blinked, feeling a stab in his chest before he nodded. Hurrying back onto his feet without another word, he attempted to search for a clean source of water. After about ten minutes of hopping around, he managed to find a cool running stream, filled with plenty of fish and plant life. "Where to put the water in..." He breathed as he searched around, eventually finding a small piece of wood with a concave center. "Good enough." Kneeling down and scooping up the water, Jace ensured that his body was secure enough to stand properly before he even attempted it. He then raised himself with difficulty as he had to try to keep the water balanced, and he then hopped back over to Macy and Aria. When reaching them, he fell onto his knees and held out the bowl to Aria. "Here you are." He stated, though his eyes were to Macy the entire time.
Soon after consuming the water, Macy's breaths seemed to stabilize somewhat. Aria sat back, an exasperated look on her face, that or just incredibly worried. "It's like it happens every other night..." She muttered.
Macy's eyes were still open slightly, though she looked very tired. "It hurts..." She mumbled.
"I know it does... And I'm trying to cure you..."
"Happens every night?" Jace asked, feeling utterly helpless at this point. He bit his lip, wondering why there couldn't be a damn thing to do about it. There had to be an easier way to get a cure. Of course, he felt as if needed to find Glenn to do it. He knows alchemy... alchemy is a science. Surely he may be able to do something... anything. Just looking at her suffer... It is hardly bearable. He thought as he stood up again, then decided to lean against the tree. With his arms folded he began to contemplate, leaving the mother and daughter be, especially when he felt as if he had no part in this. This world is horrible.
~~~~~
"I think this is more a problem of finding some help NOW rather than waiting." Ezrak said, pulling out his sword. "Listen, you find somewhere safe with those kids... I'll hold this oaf off." He said, calmly assessing the situation.
"A last stand?" Equinox asked, closing his eyes. "How unoriginal... And boring."
"R-right." Shinta sighed, wondering what was going to happen. Either way, Shinta grasped onto both Valor and Reis with one arm before taking off, feeling very tired as he managed to make his way toward Kiev Moc. "Dammit... May as well hide in some forests..."
Now how would Ezrak get out of this one? He continued to fight the god king for 12 rounds, until...
"Well, I'm bored now. Honestly, you aren't even a threat... Then again, you never were. The last time, all you did was bring the keys to my defeat. You were a glorified janitor... Now you're just another little weakling."
~~~~~
"We can't allow the world leaders to be risked." The king said firmly. "A strategic retreat is the best option if we-"
"If you retreat now, you will only be welcomed back as cowards were your plan to succeed. If it fails, which it is likely to do, the God King will more than likely just follow all the way to Earth, blasting everyone in his way!" Fenix replied.
Glenn grit his teeth, slamming his palm onto the table. "If there is no Carleon left, there would be nothing for you assholes to lead!!!" He shouted before storming out. "I've had it with your bullshit!"
Upon walking out, he ran into both his mother and Anna, who was talking with a guard. "Mom!? Anna!?"
'Hey!' Anna said, running over to Glenn and hugging him. 'Good! You didn't die!' She said, smiling. 'Don't ever do that to me again...'
Glenn sweat dropped as he hugged Anna in return, then frowned. "No, I didn't die... but..." He sighed, hearing the ringing words. Don't ever do that to you again? Oh no...
"I... I am not sure how to say this..." He looked to his mother, realizing that Anna did not understand a thing about the army. Biting his lip, he tried to explain. "I guess you could say I am a soldier now... just temporarily, but I did join. I... I can't go home, Anna. Not yet, anyway."
'... I don't care! You need to stay with me so you don't die, stupid!!'
"Do you honestly not trust me?" Glenn decided to stand his ground. "Anna, I need to fight. You know me. Stronger than most. You know I won't die!" He frowned, continuing to hold her. "I need to fight for you. I don't care if you call me stupid. Hell, I deserve it. But I want the world to be safe. I'm tired of hiding. You said it yourself... what is the point of hiding like wild animals?" He asked her. "I want it safe FOR my family... and for you."
Taini placed a hand to her hip, wondering if this was a bad idea to bring Anna along. "Anna, he will be okay." She told her. "Hey, we know he is alright now... we should probably get going home."
'... No! I'm coming along!' Anna said, stubborn as always.
"Well, this is rather the warming family moment." Ryan said, stepping out. "Looks like it was a good idea, allowing an impulsive young man to sit in on the meeting."
"Oh shut up." Glenn rolled his eyes. "I had to say what I had to say. You know it is incredibly wrong, but no, you had to act like a good dog and beg for your treat for heeling." He snarled as he sighed at Anna. "Right... okay Anna. You can come. I can never win against you, can I?" He sighed.
"Hm?" Ryan blinked. "Forward insubordination is the worst way to advance. If we are to protect the people, then we have to be careful what is said." He explained. "A civilian, an outsider such as yourself... Not a thing can be done... You are untouchable."
'Wait... What's this all about?' Anna asked, confused as to who the man was as she clung to Glenn.
Glenn sighed as he looked to Ryan. "True. I may as well use that to my advantage." He then explained to Anna, "The king and emperor are planning to run away to Earth. You know what I say in the end? Let them. No matter what, they exposed themselves as cowards. I rather to just get this show on the road and finish this as soon as possible." He announced as he draped and arm over Anna's shoulders, though he was fiddling with the Philosopher's stone on his ring finger.
"That's not the only thing... They've set bombs by the hundreds... Their plan is to destroy the God King." Ryan pointed out. "Letting them run would only allow them the chance to activate the bombs... Nobody would benefit from it."
'... This is really boring.' Anna sighed.
Glenn nodded to Anna, actually agreeing with her. "So why not disarm them before they get a chance? We do not have time to deal with their immaturity. I'm not standing idle... Who knows what Solstice could be doing!"
Just then Jessica approached them, along with Gina. "You should all turn in for the night. It's late." Gina announced as she turned to Glenn. "You can stay wherever you wish. But... who is this woman?" She asked, pointing at Anna.
Jessica decided to turn away and search for Fenix, having been tired from the stupid meetings.
'Who is THAT woman?' Anna asked, blinking. 'Oh well... I'm sleepy... Can we go rest now?'
"Just a quick thing..." Ryan said. "We don't know where the bombs are. Only the royal guards do." He pointed out.
"Well, we will figure it out then. I'm sure there can be a way around it." Glenn bowed his head to Ryan as he then turned away. "Good night. To the both of you." Walking away, he then entered a tent far from the military base, specially designed for camouflage. Yawning, he threw his coat to the ground and sat on his bed that he made.
'... Why would they do something so stupid and evil?' Anna asked as she sat in with Glenn.
"Because most humans are cowards... assholes who care nothing more than for themselves. They would risk an entire country, a country that they CHOSE to govern, just for their own freedoms." Glenn replied with a sigh. "I should suggest removing them and appoint someone else, if we had to. So!" He turned to Anna for a moment. "Couldn't stand to be without me for more than a few hours, huh?" He grinned widely and sheepishly.
'... I needed to watch out for you, dummy! Who knew where he sent you, huh?' Anna asked, frowning.
"I... sorry..." Glenn's face fell. Taking her hand, he squeezed it lightly. "You raise a good point. He really did try to kill me, didn't he? My own brother..." He sighed. "But let's not worry about it now, okay? We have more important matters to worry about than that bastard." He explained before kissing the woman.
'I hope I killed him.' Anna admitted. 'If I run into him again though...' She started, shaking her head.
"You shouldn't waste your time. He's weak." Glenn pointed out as he snuggled into Anna as he wrapped his arms around her. "Let's get some rest, okay? He's not worth our time." He asked her as he pressed her onto her back on the bed.
'I'm sick of him annoying me, though!' Anna said, her face just a little red. 'He is a weakling, but he's also a nasty little cockroach who won't die and won't go away!" She huffed. 'Yulia, I can't stand him!'
"Shhhh." Glenn then placed a finger to the woman's lips, then shook his head. "He. Is. Not. Worth. Our. Time." He told her. "You probably killed him anyway."
'But the spirits didn't feel him die!' Anna groaned, frowning. 'And he's sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo annoying... And... And... And...' Her eyes began to droop, and it became immediately clear that she had been exhausting herself with stress all day.
"Shhh..." Glenn didn't say another word for a few moments, but instead held her tightly, knowing that she must have been exhausted due to the worrying and stress. "It'll be okay..." He mumbled as he closed his eyes while stroking the woman's hair gently. Just one thing after another. When we get rid of Solstice, something is bound to take his place. I just know it. But I bet we can stop it.
'I... Hope so...' Anna said, drifting off to her slumber. In the morning, the sounds of marching could be heard. 'Uggggggg... What is this...?' She groaned.
Glenn snored for what seemed to be forever, though it was only another couple of minutes, having been awoken for the first time ever over sounds. "Huh...?" Glenn blinked and yawned, having rolled away from Anna. "Great... right, I remember. Soldier..." He yawned once again before standing onto his feet and dressing into his alchemist's coat, specially given to him. He then grabbed a piece of fruit that he had lying on the table, waving a hand to Anna to follow.
"Guess the move has been made..." He mumbled to himself.
~~~~~~
Fenix was back at the camp, rousing the troops.
Jessica soon arrived at the camp, seeing Fenix. With a small wave, she approached him. "Good evening. How are you faring?"
"I've been better... I'm preparing them to start evacuating the city if this plan is put into motion." Fenix explained.
"There has to be a way to stop this." Jessica bluntly told Fenix as she placed a hand to her waist. "But it is best to evacuate them, nevertheless. We have to trap the leaders. Make sure they don't flee at least."
"Not much we could do... If we're discovered... Success would just spark more war..." Fenix sighed. "Between the Order and the Empire and Kingdom... It's too risky."
"...So we're just supposed to lie low and wait for this craziness to happen!?" The woman cried out with a deep sigh. "Oh man..." She bit her lip, feeling very worried.
"It's beyond aggravating." Fenix pointed out. "Urgh..." He groaned, watching the troops. "And just hope for good news... Right?"
"Good news... yeah. At this rate it would take a damn miracle," Jessica scratched the back of her head, feeling very useless at the moment. "Yulia... This sucks." She then walked into her tent, frustrated to no end. She figured to just begin her nightly ritual, and not to think of anything else.
"Well... For now we work with the channels of the other militaries... Hopefully figure out our own plan, even if it is independent..." Fenix said. "Let's just hope for a coup d'etat..."
Jessica was already in bed by the time that Fenix even arrived. She seemed a little tired, but not enough to fall asleep. If anything, she was merely disgruntled.
Fenix sat on his bed, sighing and feeling pain around his waist. "Yulia..." He mumbled. 'It's going to be a very long day...' He thought to himself, closing his eyes.
The morning soon dawned on them, and Jessica was the first one up, surprisingly, only due to the fact that she could not sleep very well. Standing onto her legs, she stretched and stripped herself rather quickly, dressing into a different outfit/uniform. "Phew..."
Fenix was soon behind her, looking out into the distance. "This just... Sucks..." He sighed. "Like there's not a thing we can do..." He sighed. "Well... I guess we should get the troops with the others."
"...That's true," Jessica replied sadly. "I can't stand the leaders. Bunch of dicks." She spat before calling over the troops to meet up with the others. Eventually they were altogether, save for Glenn and Anna, who could have been who knows where. Probably just catching up. "Right... so what's the plan?"
So, about that Eternal Sonata/Samurai Champloo RP, love...
~~~~~
"Well... For now we rendezvous with the other armies... Get integrated... I mean, we're a relatively small force... Only 197 strong... But I like to think we're tough." Fenix pointed out. "Just need to meet up, then we can discuss whatever the plans are... Since we have to bank on the fact that the King and the Emperor will be trapping the place... We need to work around that..."
"We do need to work around that." Jessica agreed as she stood still for a moment. "We really should stop them. Let's hope for a miracle." She mumbled under her breath. "Okay, come on! We have this ordeal to deal with, so let's wrap it up peacefully... or with force! It doesn't matter at this point!"
"Well it does... We wouldn't want to cause an international incident..." Fenix sighed. "And... The last thing we need is to cause ANOTHER war in the middle of this one... Or afterward..."
"Well we are fighting with force against the God King, aren't we?" Jessica asked as she stretched. "So, let's get going before I die of boredom. Idling by without anything to do is the worst."
"Well... At least we're planning now, aren't we?" Fenix asked.
"Yeah, probably for the worst." Jessica rubbed her temples. "Let's just get it over with..."
"Hopefully not..." Fenix sighed. "I mean... There has to be SOMETHING that we can do to speed things up and minimize pain and death..."
"Yeah, but people don't want to take risks. The best we can do is fight ourselves. The people came to the army for a reason. They were not forced against their will. They are here to protect Carleon, aren't they?" Jessica replied. "We have our skills to go by. And as that Glenn person stated, if we join all the heroes... we should be able to minimize everything."
"I'm still curious as to what that means... Aren't you?" Fenix asked, blinking.
"To be honest, I am not entirely sure either. I mean, who are the heroes? I didn't know anything about this." Jessica shrugged. "Maybe they're all the really old war veterans!" She laughed.
"... You would think veterans would have been able to do something by now... Yesterday was the first I've heard of this..."
"True... well, we will see what comes up." Jessica sighed. "So, shall we get marching? I mean, we can stand here all day, Fenix."
"That's true." Fenix said with a nod, starting to lead the troops out. Within the hour, they were at the meeting point, and there seemed to be some low level panic. "Hm... What's all this then? Was there a surprise attack?"
"Huh?" Jessica then hurried to one of the members that were panicking, and quickly asked. "State your reasoning for the panic!" She ordered as she stood tall and saluted, like the good Scion she was.
~~~~~
'The move?' Anna asked with a blink. She silently yawned as she followed him, wondering why he was wearing the coat. She, meanwhile, was still wearing her jungle garb, but it too seemed a bit unfitting for the situation. So, it came to be that they faced Ryan.
"I see you already have a follower there, hm?" The man asked.
'Shut up, you!' Anna said. 'I'm joining too!' She said, being bullish.
"Are you a soldier?" Ryan asked.
'No, but...'
"Are you an alchemist?"
'Well, no...'
"Then I can't have you here."
'JUST GIVE ME A DUMB UNIFORM!'
"...Let her join." Glenn stood stiff. "She may not be either a soldier or an alchemist, but she wants to stay by me. Besides, I'm sure she's stronger than most, if no all of your men. After all, she's a summoner." He pointed out as he rubbed his forehead. "If anything it will act as another advantage, wouldn't it?" He asked Ryan, his eyes stern. "So just get her a uniform and be on our merry way. We don't have time for you denying my girlfriend a damn piece of clothing."
"Uniforms are only for those in the Alchemist knights." Ryan said, looking over his file. "May I suggest you try and go to a clothing store instead of trying to filch from a military with almost no funding."
'... Ugh! Beat him up! Beat up one of his troops!' Anna pleaded.
Glenn placed a hand to his hip, now wondering if he should even listen to anyone. "Come on... geez..." He closed his eyes. "Anna, we don't have time to fight anyone. Ugh, guess I'll have to run into Baticul. But she's joining, whether you like it or not!!!" He told himself before grasping the woman's hand and leading her away. "Let's just ignore him and get you something for this."
'... But I want something like that!' Anna said maturely, pointing at a female soldier. 'Where would we buy it, huh?' She asked. 'Make him give me one!' She pleaded.
"..." Glenn sighed, wondering if she was acting childish on purpose. Even if...
"I'll pay you Ryan. I just don't want to be brought into fighting T_T. I just want to take out my strength on the God King!" He suddenly complained.
"We don't have uniforms." Ryan said. "At least no spares." He sighed. "You're an alchemist, aren't you?" He asked. "Or did I overestimate your abilities?"
"V.v" Glenn kicked the ground for a moment. "Sorry for being pressured into not thinking..." He said rather angrily to Ryan before turning to one of the female soldiers, taking in the uniform. He then turned to Anna and clapped his hands. "Right, here goes!" He then placed his hands onto the grass, managing to create a very very similar uniform. "And voila!"
'...' Anna put it on and frowned. 'It feels kinda... Heavy...' She mumbled, poking at her now completely covered belly and sighing. She just wasn't used to dressing normally anymore. And the PANTS weren't helping her any either.
Glenn chuckled, noticing the frown. "Hey, you wanted it. I made it almost exactly like the uniform you pointed out." He told her with a smile. "So cheer up. You got what you wanted!" He then patted her back and stretched turned to Ryan. "Well, we are all set, I believe."
Anna, of course, immediately went to folding up the coat so it would show her belly, because otherwise, to her, it just wouldn't feel right. '... Want a skirt instead...' She thought to herself.
"In any case, we should move. We have a rendezvous to make." Ryan sighed, stepping out.
Glenn gulped and nodded hastily. "Ri-right." He then turned to Anna. "You look nice in that." He stated before hurrying along, following Ryan until they reached the rendezvous point. He then noticed the panic, which caused him to tilt his head. "Eh? What's going on here?"
The soldiers shifted for a moment, hearing everyone ask. "The hidden ship... Belonging to the emperor and the king... It's gone!" One said.
"Last night... Someone just came and stole the thing..."
"Intel has it that someone crashed it into Heimdall!"
Ryan couldn't help but smile just a little. "I see... Well everyone, full attention!" He commanded.
"I see..." Fenix crossed his arms. "Someone else knew... And to smash into the God King's base of operations... What a bit of serendipity..."
'Hey, that kid's... Kinda odd.' Anna said to Glenn.
Glenn, before he heard Anna, smiled widely, knowing that they were now given an advantage. "Yes, it is a great thing to hear. We now have a bit of an advantage, and now we can take it by storm." He mentioned. "As long as we do this right, however." He then noticed Anna's motions, and he simply nodded. "But she seems nice at least." He then approached Fenix and bowed his head. "So, I heard you were the God General, miss. Care to give us an opinion on what the strategy should be?"
"... I'm... Not a miss..." Fenix said, saying the one thing he had wanted to say for 7 years... Just... Not while no longer disguised. "I'm a guy..." He groaned. "But... I don't know... Now we can plan a fortification strategy centered upon protecting the populace." He said, turning to Jessica. "What do you think?"
"Hm... Now we could focus on finding the bombs... We don't have the resources to rebuild the ship." Ryan pointed out.
Jessica stepped forward, her eyes bright, though she was laughing inwardly over the mistake. "Right, well that is where we can come in, as the Oracle Knights. We can help protect the people while you guys do whatever it takes to sense out the bombs."
"And that is where I can come in." Glenn announced, throwing off Gina, who had been listening as she walked up to them. "Hm? Explain."
"Simple. This amulet here?" He held up an obsidian amulet. "My grandmother gave this to me. It senses mana, and the higher the concentration, the brighter the necklace glows. Only when I activate it, of course. But I'm sure I can disarm them as well. Or I can direct the alchemist knights. What do you say?"
"I say it isn't a bad idea." Gina replied with a hand to her hip. "Lieutenant Colonel Ryan?"
"... Actually, it's horrible." Ryan sighed. "Mana bombs would be too obvious... This move was planned out... I had heard that the bombs were old fashioned... Gunpowder with a remote activator... We have to talk with our great leaders and figure out the locations that way."
"Wait... Gunpowder? They put that much in the city!? That's insane!" Fenix exclaimed. "Just... A small accident could destroy the whole city..." He groaned.
'Huh? What's gunpowder?'
"It is a powder that is easily ignitable. It is used to propel bullets and cause explosions." Gina sighed as Jessica scratched her head, a little tired. Glenn merely sat down, fuming silently, wondering why anyone needed an alchemist's help at this point.
"Hmmm..." Ryan closed his eyes. "So... I'll deal with the bombs." He sighed. "You should focus on the battle plan... The estimated time of arrival for the God King's army is tomorrow at midnight." He explained. "By that point, we should be prepared. This is a turning point! The God King will be repelled at Baticul!"
"Hear, hear!" Fenix agreed. "We're not going to let him walk over us ever again!"
'This is stupid.'
"I agree." Glenn groaned as he stood back up onto his feet. "Well, I'm leaving." He shrugged, already bored. "Since you all are set, I'm finding my family."
Jessica raised her brows, then shrugged. "Oh well. Let's get this show on the road!"
"Mm." Gina nodded before walking to her tent.
~~~~~
"No..." Aria said. "Not quite... It's every other night..." She said. "I worry for her..."
Macy coughed a little.
"There there, child, lay your head down, close your eyes..." Aria whispered. "Just try and sleep for now."
You are so different now... it's admirable... Jace thought as he waited for Macy to sleep. Eventually he noticed that she was, then he scooted ever so closer, deciding to hum the one theme that did not annoy him in Heimdall. The only one that no one really knew of, save for his parents. It was a small lullaby that he heard often, and he attempted to add the lyrics soon after, one of an ancient language that he never could decipher. Nevertheless, he sang for Macy.
"Hmmm..." Aria breathed, revealing how tired she was. In the past weeks, she hadn't really slept in the slightest, having to either find medicine or deal with a TB fit from her daughter.
After a couple of minutes, Jace turned to Aria and nodded to her. "You look exhausted. You should sleep. I can keep watch." He announced to her as he yawned a little. "If you exhaust yourself, you'd be no good to protect her."
"... I can't really do that." Aria said. "I'm... Going to get some caffeine." She said, stretching, only to fall and twist her ankle. "Urgh..."
"Aria!" Jace cried out, but not too loud as to wake Macy. Crawling over to the woman, he then cursed. "You shouldn't be pushing yourself like this..." He told her sternly as he then moved his hands to her ankle, noticing that it was twisted. "Ugh..." Without another word or before Aria could say anything, Jace picked her up, despite the pain in his right leg, and set her down next to Macy. Grasping some leaves and moss from the floor, he then piled them so that she could rest her leg on it. "Stay and sleep." He told her. "You can take a break, and you will. I can handle her, you know. I'm sorry that I wasn't here before, but I can be here now for her. So rest."
"You don't..." Aria groaned. "Never raised a kid..." She mumbled, passing out after a second. She had simply used up all of her stamina, and it was for the best that Jace was there now. For her sake and for Macy's.
"I know I never raised a child... but I can still try to be a dad, if you just gave me a chance... Otherwise, what is the point of being around the both of you?" Jace sighed and stretched, knowing that he had to try to stay up all night, whether or not he was tired. Staring at the fire, he managed to pick up a novel, the same one he had tried to finish all those years ago whenever Aria jumped him with her own lust. "Funny how a child can change behaviors entirely..." He mumbled as he began to read where he left off, though the pages were worn from lying in his pocket for so long. He continued reading for who knows long, feeling very exhausted by the time the sun even remotely rose. Wonder if she even really... cares about me anymore. Did she in the first place? He thought as he turned the pages.
Aria suddenly snuggled into Jace's lap. "Daddy..." She mumbled in her sleep, much like she had that night seven years before.
Jace flushed for a moment, then placed a hand through the woman's hair, stroking the locks. "Heh, I do want to try to be one of those... Maybe if I do a good job, you will probably let me stick around for awhile. Macy will come to me, and I can finally be part of the family." He whispered as he kissed Aria's cheek, then looked over to Macy before also kissing her cheek. He then leaned back and continued to read, his hand placed on Aria's back the entire time.
Aria, of course, didn't respond, though in the dim light, it started to become clear that she had been vaguely malnourished, as well as undersleeping.
Quietly, Macy coughed in her sleep. Poor girl with her TB.
"I've never seen elves before..." Came a squeak.
"Who the hell!?" Jace cried out as he peered at the source of the voice. "Hey." A young, lanky man, lankier than Jace, appeared before the father. Jace merely scowled, already distrusting him. "Just came across you guys... I need help..."
"With what?"
"...Food... I haven't eaten in three days..."
"Don't look at us then. We don't have anything. If you're hungry, you should hunt." Jace told him, his eyes not off the other man for a second.
"...Fine... I guess I'll have to..." The man sat beside Jace for a moment, then decided to ask. "Can I just rest for a little while?"
Of course Jace didn't say anything, but instead focused on his knife in the back of his pocket.
"So... what's your story? Nowhere to go? Family man, I take it?"
"...So? What of it?"
"Not much. Just... very cute girl."
"Get out." Jace grunted.
"Hey, I'm just trying to compliment you. I'm just saying she will be a very beautiful woman someday." Leo pointed out with a wide smirk.
"Get. Out." Jace growled.
"Fine, I take it you're not a man of hospitality." Leo then stood up, then backed away, then noticed Jace's wrapped leg. So, as a result he decided to test him. "Bet she'll be nice to hold in my arms someday." He smiled, puffing out his chest.
"The fuck's that supposed to mean!?" Jace hissed as he gently set Aria onto the ground.
"Exactly what I mean."
Just then Leo was tackled and punched square in the jaw, causing him to cry out. With a flail, Leo managed to latch his teeth onto Jace's good hand and bite down, hard, but only to receive an uninjured punch to the teeth, knocking loose one of them. After a lot of rolling around, Leo found a knife lodged in his throat, causing him to gasp for air, though he was blacking out fast. "Hmph. Don't you DARE say shit like that to my face. Not like you'll ever have that opportunity again." Jace then picked up the young man as he was flailing for his life, and dragged him over to a nearby stream while hopping on one leg. Suddenly he was kicked at and shoved into the waters by Leo, and before Jace could rise up and gasp for air, Leo already had his hands around the man's throat, forcing him underwater while simultaneously suffocating him. "FUCKER!" He squealed as he coughed up blood while he fought to keep Jace underwater. To Jace's surprise, the knife had been torn away at some point. "Stupid little elf! You're all fucking stupid!!!"
For a minute, Jace flailed about, trying to rise in order to gasp for air, but he found it was utterly pointless, as Leo already had a nasty grip on the man. Just as he was meeting unconsciousness, he grasped Leo's arm and tugged him into the water, causing the grip on Jace's throat to loosen. Jace heaved as he climbed onto the ground, throwing up some of the creek water. But he had no time to rest. After all, he had to finish off the asshole. Just as Leo was rising from the water, a foot suddenly pinned his neck to the creek floor. Despite the leg being thin, it seemed incredibly strong as it held down the screaming Leo, until the air bubbles seemed to be no more. Slowly Jace lifted his leg to inspect the other man, who was still before he floated face down in the water.
"Hmph." Falling on his back for a moment to breathe, he watched Leo's body float downstream. Another couple of moments later, and the man was crawling back to Aria and Macy, soaked and tired. On the way, he managed to collect many nuts and berries, as well as set a couple traps for tomorrow's breakfast. He thanked running around all those years ago with barely anything to eat for his skills as he managed to make it back to the girls. Leaning against the tree, he pulled Aria back onto his lap, making sure her head was well placed. It was as if nothing ever happened, save for the soaked clothing. That and the bruises around the man's neck and face. Picking up his novel, he merely continued reading...
"You should sleep, you know?" Aria asked, having apparently regained consciousness in the time he was gone. "That boy... He looks like that one youth... The one who killed you." She said with a sigh. "Or caused your death." She shook her head, sighing. "In any case, I should hope he doesn't trouble us any longer..."
The man shook his head. "No, he shouldn't. I just got back from drowning him. He no longer had a pulse, and he was floating face down the creek. He has to be dead! But... no..." He can't come back like me. However I came back anyway. Maybe it was willpower? He thought to himself. "Which reminds me... I need to get back at that ass, Glenn." He grumbled. "Don't worry about me though. I told you before, I went for two weeks without sleep. I wasn't telling a lie just because you were accusing me of being a little boy, you know." He said as he placed the book down. "There's food, by the way. Picked a lot of berries and nuts for the both of you."
"You've got a broken leg though. You need to sleep." Aria said. "As does Macy, with her condition. Food can wait until morning." She explained.
"I don't care if my leg is broken. I'm not tired." Jace replied rather immaturely. "Look, you have been exhausting yourself. You look a lot thinner than I remember you, you're paler than death, and you look like you have been lacking sleep for YEARS. I won't sleep until you have gotten enough sleep and plenty of food in your stomach. I've made up my mind, and you aren't stopping me. I've got to protect you and Macy with my own life. I've been given a second chance, and I decided I'm using it for both of your sakes'."
"Or..." Aria suddenly cast a sleeping spell on the man. She doesn't play fair, naturally, but that's what we love about her, now isn't it? She then yawned. "I didn't say I wasn't going to sleep." She said, lying down.
"U-uhn... Aria... no... fair... Zzzz..." Jace whimpered as he slumped forward, then fell onto his side, snoring softly, as if he hadn't slept in days. But that was not true. With an arm slumped over Aria's body, he curled up and entered the world of dreams.
The morning came sooner than would be wanted, and with it, light rains. Aria awoke, then checked on Macy. She smiled. The young girl appeared to have slept soundly, and for that, the mother was grateful. She picked up the berries and gently roused her daughter. "Wake up, Macy."
"Nngh...?" Macy yawned slightly. "M-morning?" She asked.
Of course Jace was still dead to the world, as he managed to sleep rather peacefully despite the constant pain throughout his body. Nevertheless, he was curled up into a ball, not knowing of anyone's actions.
"Hey... Wake up." Aria said to Jace after she had fed Macy. "You should really look at your leg." She told him. "It's... Very strange, you know that?" She asked.
Jace groaned awake, not at all enjoying the sunrise. Of course when you're dreaming of nice dreams in this world, who would? "Huh? What are you..." Sitting up, he glanced at his leg, seeing it completely free of blood, bruises, and bone. "Whoa... it's... it's healed!" He gasped as he stood up, checking it. "Man, this is awesome! I don't know how it happened, but I don't feel any pain!" He then performed a back flip, then smiled. "Now I can really kick some ass!"

"This seems wrong." Zach admitted, seeing the soldiers being beaten. "Oh well..." He said, approaching the ship. "So... Do we steal it and crash it... Or do we just blow it straight to hell?"
"...Hm... Or C... just blow it to smithereens, and then blow up the leaders! Mwahahahaha!!!" Alma laughed evilly as she stared at the ship. "Of course, ya probably wouldn't go fer that, would ya?" She sighed.
"We're not killing, we're helping." Zach sighed. "It's not the same... So, I seriously recommend that we crash this ship into the ocean where nobody can retrieve it... Or into Heimdall... So that it can't be recovered... And we do some damage to the God King's army in the meantime."
"...Alright. Geez, have to be smart 'bout it," Talia sighed before running to ship, opening the hatch and shuffling inside. "Whew... This is pretty awesome! So get inside! Or I'll blow up everythin' without ya!!!"
Zach, of course, had already gotten into the pilot's seat. "Hm...?" He blinked. "Well this is interesting... This ship has enough fuel for a two way flight to Earth... Do you know what that means, dear?" He asked, smiling.
"...We go blow up Earth while we are at it?" Alma asked with a smirk before she sat in the co-pilot's seat, her feet on the panels. "I mean, it's a great thought. Seriously, who likes that place? ...Or at least from what Siri said."
"... Or we can make a big splash." Zach said. "I mean... This ship has that much fuel... Imagine the damage it will do to the God King's forces... It would be absolutely devastating for his war effort... Would it not?" He asked, grinning as he started the ship.
"...Yes... that's always true. So CRASH IT!!!!" Alma shouted as she pointed at nothing in particular, wanting to suddenly destroy everything. "LET'S HURT HIS ASS!"
"Provided he's there." Zach said, setting out into the air and starting to fly for Heimdall. Once they were about 10 minutes away, he set up the autopilot. "Right, we should get out now... Even if the ship were to miss or be shot down.... It should still do plenty of damage." He stood up. "Ready to run?" He asked.
"Yup!" Alma replied as she stretched once and stood onto her feet. "So... how should we go 'bout this?" She asked as her tail flicked. "Well... actually..." She then punched open the hatch, feeling very excited. "Let's jus' jump through this! Can ya unseal yer wings yet? Or do I have to carry ya again?"
"... Seems like I can't... Wonder why though." Zach mumbled. "Oh well, I don't mind you carrying me." He admitted. "This should be rather fun to watch though, won't it?" He asked, smiling.
"Yes, so why not watch from above?" Alma asked as she nuzzled Zach's neck. "Right, Pet?" She asked as she lifted him and herself up into the air, until they were rather high, then hovered as they watched the ship sail to Heimdall.
Zach looked at the city for a moment, unable to smile. The elven city had been transformed into a metal ring which surrounded the tree, 8 towers with cables running into it, draining energy from it and speeding the death of the world. "This is horrible..." He muttered, watching the ship crash, taking out an entire sector or two, though it almost seemed to be a pointless gesture. "... I just... Let's head back..." He sighed.
"Man, this really sucks..." The woman breathed as she held onto Zach, though her fingernails were silently digging further into Zach's skin. "Yeah... let's jus' head back. This fuckin' pisses me off." Together they went back to their hotel, with Alma feeling very depressed during the entire flight.
"Well... I think we should sleep for now." Zach said as they arrived, hugging Alma. "Perhaps when we awake once more... Something will have been done about this." He explained, closing his eyes. After a moment, his arms went slack. "Ngh..." He groaned, blinking. "W-what...?"
"Hm..." Alma replied as she suddenly fell to the ground, having collapsed. "Whoa!" She groaned as she found herself on the floor. "Vhat happened? Ugh... feelz az if I had a headache..."
"Yeah... Sa... Holy hell! Where'd the last 6 hours go!?" Zach asked, completely stunned.
"...Ah! Six hourz!?" Alma cried out, shooting up onto her feet. "Vhat do ve do!? Dammit, iz ze honeymoon already over? NOOOOO!!!"
"No... Uh... Hey, how about we just let it run over to tomorrow, huh?" Zach asked, nodding. "We can do that, after all!" He said, hugging her. "So what if we lost six hours... And fifty-nine minutes..." He realized he'd slightly misread the clock. "Er... Yeah, we can still have our honeymoon!"
"Six heure... cinquante-neuf..." Alma repeated, now with a full sigh. "It iz very unfortunate... but yes, you are right. Somehow ve must have passed out from all of ze excitement, non?" She asked with a grin, her ears flicking constantly. "So! ...Ve should probably get somezhing to eat first, shouldn't ve?"
"Good idea..." Zach said. "And I've a thought on that..." He smiled. "There's a home kitchen that specializes in these boiled meals... Maybe we could try that!"
"Boiled mealz? It soundz good!" Alma nodded as she grabbed a cloak, smiling. "Okay, let's go! Have you ever had boiled pheazant Zach? It iz absolutely to die for!"
"Um... No..." Zach mumbled. "I mean... I've had a boiled chicken at least once." He sighed. "Nothing that fancy though..." He sighed, feeling the caste gap in full effect for once in his miserable life. "But... I think they have stuff like... Ham, you know?" He asked, smiling at her. "I think they also so smoky barbecue boiled meals too sometimes."
"Eh? Ham? It doez sound good. Not too big on ham, but beggarz can't be choozerz in zhis vorld, correct?" Alma asked as she grasped his hand. "Come on!" She then led him down the stairs and out the door. "But ze barbecue doez sound good! To be honest, I've never had barbecue."
And there is the gap again.
"Well... Neither have I." Zach admitted. "Never really had the tools or time to make it." He explained. "We spent all our time farming or pickpocketing, so we couldn't ever really take 8 hours out of one day just for cooking a meal."
"Wow, so vait. Did you ever EVER cook anyzhing?" Alma asked as reached the area where the food was being served. "...I mean, you must have eaten, right? Who fed your family?" She tilted her head.
"Uh... My mom cooked most of the time... And if she didn't, then me or dad did..." Zach sighed. "Yeah, you aren't exactly marrying into more wealth." He sighed, smelling the food. "Mmm... Smells good." He said, trying to smile, though a little bugged.
Alma smiled back, not having noticed Zach's buggedness. "Oh, it iz not a big deal! I just... vell, I don't know. I still have a little bit to learn. I zhink it iz great to be more humble anyvay. It iz less of a hassle. You can act yourself, and you don't have people staring at you or vanting to meet you just becauze you are even ze least bit important. But it doez smell good."
"Still, let's just hope everything pans out, right?" Zach asked. "I mean... We're not in a horrid situation yet, are we?" He asked, sitting and waiting for their plates to arrive. He had ordered the barbecue for the two of them, and they soon got plates piled high with ribs and all sorts of vegetables. "Man, this is exciting, isn't it?" He asked.
"Vow, zhis iz... it looks better zhan vhat ve had to eat at times in the past yearz, doezn't it?" Alma asked as her ears flicked wildly, her eyes as big as saucers as she then took a rib and bit through it, her tail swishing swiftly with anticipation. "Vow! Zhis iz exactly how I zhought it vould be! It iz SOOOO bien!!!"
"Heh, well it's not pheasant, is it?" Zach asked, blinking. "But it's something, right? After we eat this, we'll head back to the hotel, right?" She asked. "Then we can really enjoy our honeymoon uninterrupted." He told her with a smile.
"Uninterrupted... in zhis day and age, it vould be hard. After all, ve are in ze middle of var. I don't vant to even hear about it anymore... I know everyzhing iz at stake, but zhere are zhoze zhat vant to live vhat could be our final days." Alma said with a wide smile as she filled up on the ribs before moving onto the vegetables.
"That's why we make the most of things, isn't it?" Zach asked, smiling. "Simply no better answer than that... T's what I think anyway!" He continued, polishing off his plate. "Ready to head back?"
Alma nodded, feeling stuffed, though she definitely wanted more. However, she decided not to, and instead grasped her new husband's wrist. "Hard to zhink zhat you ARE in fact my new huzband." She laughed. "No offense to you. It izn't bad in ze least!"
"Hey, it's hard for me NOT to take offense at that!" Zach huffed, though it was a little playful at least. "You're my wife, so that means we have to go be married peoples now!" He said, acting bizarrely.
"It iz hard for me to do zhat. I do not know ze first zhing about being married! You kind of sabotaged zhat!" Alma laughed as she ran upstairs to their room. "I mean, you are nozhing but a sweet zhief!"
"No, I'm your husband now! That's hardly nothing!" Zach pointed out, following her in, then sitting on the bed, waiting.
"Pfft, it iz somezhing!" Alma replied as she flopped onto the bed with a grin, her ears flicking wildly with anticipation. "So, I am to relax, right?" She asked softly. "Heh, vith all zhis running around in the past seven years, I find it hard to even remotely relax. It iz just one adventure after anozher, izn't it?"
"Well..." Zach flopped right next to her and smiling. "I guess now's a good a time as any!" He laughed, wrapping a hand around her waist.
"Speaking of..." Alma suddenly turned to Zach, her hand against his arm. "I do not ever vant to run from Carleon. Ever. You vere right earlier. Zhere iz no point... and apparently... ve can actually stop zhis."
"Huh?" Zach blinked, not remembering. "Uhm... Right..." He said, hugging her. "But... For now..." He smiled at her.
Alma suddenly kissed Zach softly, returning the hug and she pushed him over and rolled over. "For now ve just enjoy vhat zhere iz to enjoy." She stated.
"Which is quite a lot, isn't it?" Zach asked with a wink, placing a hand over the woman's chest with a grin.
"Are you referring to me?" Alma asked as she noticed his hand on her chest. "And vhat do you plan to do, oh almighty Zach?"
"... Something." Zach said, pressing himself to her and squeezing just a little bit.
"Somezhing? Iz it... a surprize?" Alma asked as she turned her head to see him. She then nipped at his neck, feeling a little kitty playful.
"... Maybe." Zach said pressing himself to her and squeezing just a bit.
"Maybe? Vhat are you getting at?" Alma only could say as she yawned, now curious as to what he could be up to.
Zach suddenly bit her tongue gently, grinning. "Something." He said once more, THAT ASSHOLE.
Of course Alma was about to explode from several things. "Mmmmph! (I don't like vague things!)" She said as she bit his tongue in return.
Zach nibbled again, smiling. 'Hurry up and explode.' He thought to himself.
"Ah, now you are just being a teaze, Zach! A teaze!" Alma groaned as she gripped the man's sides. "Zach, aaaugh, I'm getting frustrated vith you... vhat iz zhat somezhing!"
"something is..." Zach blinked, smirking as he continued to stroke her back. "Something."
"YOU'RE HORRIBLE!" Alma squealed as she squirmed a little more until she tackled him, half out of pure rage. "Tell me, tell me, tell me, tell me, tell me!"
"... Maybe." Zach said, now just being mean, even during tackling. He started to rub her inner thigh, what a nice guy.
"TEEEEEELL MEEEEE!" Of course he only received a bite on his neck for his actions. And this was only a fanged bite.
"....." Zach was silent, then he grabbed her butt, his hand on her inner thigh moving closer to her slit. "Something."
Alma began to flush, already enjoying where this was going. She tried to inch closer to his hand as she continued to nibble at his neck. "Pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaze teeeeell meeeeeeee... I can't take it anymore! I vant to know!"
"You want to know?" Zach asked. He stroked her nub slightly, smirking. "Well then I'll just have to tell you that it's...
"Something."
Alma began to squirm more, already being driven to the point of insanity. She then began to rub against Zach a little too hard, her teeth clearly deep in Zach's neck. "Mrell meeeee..." She seemed to say.
"Gh..." Zach groaned. "... Don't... Know..." He said, having forgotten exactly what it was.
"-.- I hate you. You know vhat? I have no choice at zhis point." Alma growled, though purring all the while, before biting his ear, her hands attempting to pull away his clothing.
It came off easily. "Ow, ow, ow." He said, though it sounded like he was joking. He wrapped his arms around her with a smile, starting to scratch the base of her tail.
"...Hey... you're being a butt..." Alma said slowly, deciphering him as she squirmed against him, her tail flicking wildly. "Vhat are you really trying to get me to do? And do not say somezhing!"
"... Fine, I won't say 'Somezing'." Zach said, being mean. He still scratched the base, moving his leg against her own. "But I will say... Something."
"You are... an ass." Alma purred as her tail whipped around, her body arching in response. "Just tell me vhat it iz! It can't be all zhat good! Or bad! It's just..." This time she attempted horribly at perfecting the word, "Somet-thiiing."
"It's... Something... Good." Zach said, smiling and enjoying her reaction. He suddenly stole a small kiss from her, then smiled and blew a raspberry.
Alma grew red, feeling very, very tortured at the moment. "Bien? But zhis iz just all torture!" She cried out before flipping him onto his back, rubbing against him as she placed her lips to his neck, kissing it. "Maybe I'll just not give you vhat you vant. See how far you'll go before you crack."

"I didn't know you could do a backflip before." Aria sighed. "Or ever." She then sat down and started eating. "We need to make it to sheltered ground soon... Or else things could get very messy very quickly." She sighed.
Jace raised his brows, then nodded, deciding to skip breakfast despite him not having a single bite of food in seven years. "Definitely. I know that we shouldn't take too long, or we will end up in a lot of trouble," Jace then added, "Oh, I've been able to do stuff like that since I was ten. I just don't do it very often." He shrugged before taking out a knife to flip it with his hand. "Either way, I'll be right back. Need to check the traps." He stated before running off. It didn't even take him five minutes to come back with a rabbit and a hog. Smiling, he appeared before the girls with the animals slung onto his back.
"Well aren't we the tough little revivee?" Aria asked, stretching and yawning, holding Macy on her back. The young girl was, as she spent more than half of her life, asleep, the disease having robbed her of much of her stamina. "That should be good once we get a chance to rest, but for now, we move." She pointed out, sighing. 'Macy... I wonder what you're dreaming of...'
The answer, of course, was puppies. Swordsmen and puppies.
"Yeah, we should move. We should probably start out walking. Whenever you'd like, I can take Macy... that is, if you and she will let me." Jace sighed as he moved forward out of the forest. "And I told you... you have to be tough to survive this world. So far the both of you seem to be doing quite alright," He said with a stretch as he made on his merry way.
"Seem to... But it hasn't been easy. She's asleep now, so you should be able to carry her," Aria said, "If you're willing." She continued on her merry way for a bit, sitting once they had reached a river. For a time, they just breathed. "So, I suppose now is a good a time as any to prepare the food, don't you think?" She asked as Macy began to stir.
Jace had set down Macy gently before she noticed, having been absolutely thrilled to carry the girl. "Yeah, I'll get right to it." He stated as he began a fire and skinned the animals before cooking them. "I'm drying the rabbit over the fire, so it can last awhile." Jace stated. "I mean, it may not taste as good, but it's still edible." He told Aria as he watched the animals cook.
"That's fine, I'm used to that sort of thing." Aria said as Macy stretched. "Where are we...?" She asked, not familiar with the area.
"We're on our way to safer land." Aria said, being as forward as she could.
"Yup. Baticul." Jace replied as he pulled off the pig and stripped off the meat, placing it on all one giant piece of wood. "Guess it's ready." He stated as he yawned. "Both of you eat as much as you'd like. I'll eat after."
So, they both ate.
"You know, I don't think Baticul is the best place to go at this point." Aria said.
"What's Baticul?" Macy asked.
"From what your mother says, a huge city that was supposed to be safe... so what's up?" Jace asked as he began to eat after they had their fill, and it was clear that he was starving from the way he scarfed down the food. "Is something wrong? Where should we go then?"
"Well... I'm concerned that a battle may happen there... If it does, that could aggravate little Macy's condition... And I don't want to do that." Aria said. "I'd say our safest bet is probably... Keterburg... At least for now."
"Keterburg!!!? That's WAY all the way up north!" Jace flailed his arms about. "If anything that could aggravate her condition as well! And the cold! It's not really all that safe, don't you think?" He asked, feeling rather defensive.
"We can stay inside a home at least... Keep her warm there. The cold is of little consequence, the lack of people about will make it easier on her."
"I don't like cold..." Macy muttered.
"...Yeah, just is expensive... you're right. It'll take awhile to get there. We should also get a boat too." Jace explained. "But we should probably be on our way. We can't get caught up in the war, can we? That and dealing with a complete..." He then turned to Macy, then flushed. "Uh... butthole."
"Wait... What?" Macy asked, confused.
"Just don't worry about it, kiddo..." Aria said, hugging the girl. "So, north from here, yes?"
Jace nodded as he stood up onto his feet. "Yeah... I guess. I am not all that great with geography, but it's what I'm guessing. You forget, Aria. I've been completely sheltered my whole life." He sighed, feeling useless as a map guide. He then stored the meat in leaf wraps and walked forward.
It took about a whole day of resting and traveling before they even made it to a boat. Renting one, Jace, Aria and Macy had set off across the ocean for Keterburg...
"Not too long now..." Jace was sitting on the railing, feeling the brisk air against his back. He had donned his shirt again since the recovery, and Yulia did he need it. He had made sure to snatch three thick jackets for the trip, just in case it became unbearably chilled.
Aria had given the most blankets to lil' TB over there, but it wasn't long before they reached the town of WoR Narshe Keterburg. "Well... It's a mess... But there are still homes... We could possibly go find one." She said, eventually finding a mansion that wasn't too horribly run down. Aria entered and started a flame, setting her daughter near it. She then locked the door. "Jace... We need to clear out any monsters. Do you want to watch Macy or eliminate them?"
Jace shivered for a moment, seeing his breaths in the air. He quietly shuffled his feet, not at all used to the cold. "I... I-I-I C-c-c-can... ha-handle it..." He stammered as he attempted to keep warm. "N-n-n-need to k-k-k-k-k-keeeeep wa-wa-warm soooomehoooow..." He fumbled awkwardly with the knife. "I-I-I-I-I'll b-b-b-bbbbbbbb..." He was so cold, he couldn't even finish his sentence.
"Maybe you should stay by the fire and let me clear the monsters." Aria sighed. "Just kill anything that comes close so Macy won't be hurt."
"F-f-f-f-f-f-f-fiiiiiiine..." Jace gave in as he rubbed his own arms, letting her do just that. Of course, when she was gone, he felt INCREDIBLY nervous around his own daughter, actually alone with her for the first time. He just figured he would stay silent and keep watch as he huddled at the fire, though his eyes were occasionally toward Macy, checking to make sure she wasn't going through a fit.
And so it came to pass that Aria left to clear the monsters.
After about an hour, Aria had still not returned, and Macy was arousing from her sleep. When she saw Jace and Jace alone, she frowned, then stared at the fire. Several minutes later, she spoke. "Your hair is stupid."
Nice kid. Jace thought as he sighed. "Sorry, but I was kind of born with it. Your grandmother had green hair, you know." He pointed out as he placed his head onto his knees. Acting just like her mother... "I'm sure she would be back soon." He announced as he found himself growing slightly worried.
The girl shook her head. "No, your HAIR is stupid! Not the color!" She said, shivering.
A loud thump was suddenly heard, sounding as if something insanely heavy had just been felled several floors above.
"Huh!?" Jace whirled around, hearing it. "Wow, if that's what I think it is..." He sighed before turning to Macy. "Fine. I'll just get it cut. I don't ever know what to do with my hair." He sighed before sitting back down, removing his jacket. "You're still cold, aren't you?" He asked as he held up his jacket, a little timid that she would end up screaming if he even neared her.
The moment he even neared her, she ended up screaming. She shifted a little toward the fire, contented in getting warm that way, but not before coughing once more. She then lied down, seeing an odd room out of the corner of her eye. "H-huh...?" She blinked, standing and coughing as she started to approach the room.
Just then Jace cut her off, standing in front of her. Of course, being 6'4" wouldn't help the situation any. "Hey, you're not allowed to go anywhere. Not until your mother comes back." He told her sternly before pointing at the fire. "I don't care if you're bored, but it's safest."
Macy, in response, listened like a good little girl threw her head back. There was a half second of silence, and then. "IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Jace screamed along, though it was from being jumped. He then plugged his ears, finding it no good anymore, since it was loud enough to deafen his big ears. "...Huh? Not again!" He cried out. "Macy! Please stop! Okay, okay! Just... I'm watching you!!!"
She then continued walking to the room, suddenly coughing weakly and heading in, seeing a collection of musical instruments: String instruments. Violins, violas, cellos, doublebass, they were all there. "Wow..." She said, before coughing again. She grabbed a beginners book and small violin, then blinked.
"Hm?" Jace glanced downward at the girl for a moment, watching calmly as he felt his hearing returning. A violin, hm? This is the first time I've ever been near an instrument... He thought before leaning against the wall. "Have you ever read sheet music before?" He asked with a soft tone while he tried to take a gander at the book.
"... IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" Macy shrieked, not wanting to answer him, just to play with her new toy that she had found.
So Jace did shut up and just watched, beginning to think of her as absolutely spoiled. He folded his arms and sat back, watching her closely, just in case a monster was to suddenly throw itself in and kill them both. "We shouldn't stay here too long... your mother would worry and probably clock me a good one." He mumbled more to himself.
"..." Macy looked at Jace, her eyes big as dinner plates. She was about to open her mouth to squeal, only to start coughing. At least the room was getting warmer.
"Macy!" Jace sighed as he walked over to her, kneeling down to meet her eye to eye. He knew he was going to have to face her screaming, but he had no choice in the matter. "...Macy, I have some water. We should go back to the fire."
Cough. Cough. They were mild, but it was at that point that Aria had arrived. "I found a generator." She said. "And emptied the building. We should have real light and heat in just a minute." She said, offering a glass of water. "You didn't get into too much trouble, did you?" She asked Jace.
"Phew... U-uh, no not at all. She kinda demanded that we go in this room though... but she found a lot of string instruments." That and she hates me. Jace frowned as he sat down on the floor. "Uh... but uh, yeah, can I be excused? I just... need to cool my head off some."
"Hold on." Aria said, flicking Macy behind the ears. "NO." She said sternly to the girl. "Next time just discipline her. She isn't supposed to yell that way." She said.
"I uh... yeah... sorry..." Jace blinked, watching the scolding. "I uh, need to get better at this huh?" He laughed before turning around. "So what is the next plan?" He asked her while stretching. "I don't know if we should stay here for months... I mean it could be possible, but..."
"We should stay here... It's far and away from the fighting, completely abandoned after being conquered by the god king. He didn't even care to leave anyone here." Aria said. "We will be safe."
"Alright, I guess we should stock up on food." Jace said, already feeling suffocated for some reason. He then turned away from her. "I'll probably be out for a couple of hours. I want to make sure I can get enough for at least a week."
"There's a fully stocked pantry as well as enough frozen meat to last us for weeks." Aria said, sitting, glad that warmth was starting to infect the building. She stroked Macy's hair. "By now the battle with the God King in Baticul may have already started." She said.
"I hope we'll win." Jace sat down as well. "That way I can get some work done after. I mean... unless they only repel him. So what's he like anyway? I mean, you would think that people should be able to stop him." He then glanced upward at the ceiling, then recalled. "Oh! Right! C-can you do me a favor...? Like uh... cut my hair...?" He asked, now incredibly embarrassed.
"I suppose I can." Aria said, moving to do just that. "He's proven time and time again that nobody can even slow him down. He's beyond unstoppable... He can't be harmed, he can't be dissuaded. Anything he sets his eyes on is certain of destruction. At least that's how it has been as of late."
"Really? Nothing can stop him? I'm hoping someone can... I have a feeling that explained the heroes roaming around." Jace shrugged. "Maybe they were all revived to stop him?" He then moved himself so that his back was to Aria. He then undid his ponytail, letting his hair fall to his back. "Man, that feels weird. J-just cut it however you want... as long as it doesn't look horrid. Please."
"Sure." Aria said, cutting it however. "But... As of this point, there has been nothing that has been able to harper him."
A shrill shrieking could be heard, though Aria ignored it. The sound, of course, originated from a small violin, which Macy had broken into.
The man's eye twitched, knowing that the sound was painful to him, but he tried to ignore it. After the cut, he rubbed the back of his head, blinking. "Ack!" He then turned to his head to the ground, seeing over a foot and a half long hair, completely chopped off. It took me all of my boyhood to grow that... And now it was all cut off... in not even a minute... He then sighed as he bit his lip. "I uh... yeah, maybe there is. Maybe I should join in on the fight..." He pondered to himself. "So uh, what do you think? About the hair." He asked, now facing her.
"It is fine. It seems unique." Aria said with a smile, the shrieking still continuing. She walked over to pick up Macy. "Come now, I'll take you to your new bedroom." She said, doing just that before returning. "Come with me." She said.
"I uh... y-yeah..." Jace followed rather obediently, wondering where she was going to take him. "Where...?" He began to ask, then realized there was no point in it. He rather just wait for whatever was to come.
She led him to a room and opened it, revealing an elegant master bedroom. "We can sleep here." She said. "Macy will be safe now. No need to keep her in constant earshot."
"Yeah, you're right..." Jace was still slightly worried about Macy's TB, but Aria knew best. After all, Macy was with Aria her entire life. So he shook it off and yawned, throwing off his shirt and jacket. Of course the man seemed exhausted, spending all of his energy traveling, watching Macy, and freezing to death, and when he flopped onto the bed, he found himself already uncomfortable. ...Too soft... He thought to himself. "A-at least we'll be safe now, right?" He asked, glancing up at Aria from the bed.

"Wait, hold on a moment..." Fenix said. "So... Uh... Who exactly is going to plan this whole grand fortification? Aren't we on kind of a limited timespan?" He asked.
'So? This is BORING!' Anna retorted ever so maturely.
"Exactly as Anna said!" Glenn replied as he continued to walk. "If anything, you guys should know the details and act according to those details. There is your strategy." He then knew that he himself would probably end up getting his grandmother and help the citizens. Sure, it was considered cheating, but who could care in this day and age?
Once again, he shook his head. No, Anna and he should not rely on her abilities. "I'm sure the army could plan such a simple strategy."
Jessica stepped forward, grimacing slightly. "He's right. It is simple, Fenix. Just let them go. We can handle it very well without them."
"Ugh... You know, there is such a thing as a responsibility..." Fenix sighed. "Besides... Don't we need to be sure that he has some idea as to what's going to be going down? Or... Would you rather just have him left out of the loop?" He asked with a sigh. "Soldiers live and die on communication... I'd hate for him or others to have their lives snuffed just because they didn't get a memo." He pointed out. "Ugh... Whatever... I just... Guess we should get to work, shouldn't we? Lt. General, um... What are the best points of fortification within the city? We need to get people there starting tomorrow morning."
Jessica shook her head. "We can just send a pidgeon. They do their job well." She then listened to Gina's response. "The best point would be definitely the outer slums. I know it seems really odd, but from intel reports it is the only area where bombs are few and far between. Not only that, but it is the least likely or final area where the people would be attacked."
"So we need to evacuate people there... Are there any other strongholds?" Fenix asked. "With any luck, we won't need to fall back on them... But just in case, we should set up some ambush spots, shouldn't we?"
"Yes, we should. I'll have my second rally the most accurate of bowmen." Gina announced as she took a step back. "But there is a stronghold Northeast of here... a good ten miles, if everyone is willing to hoof it."
"I say it can't hurt to at least try." Jessica added in.
"Is it outside the city?" Fenix asked. "I'm not sure just that stronghold is our best interest... We should hunker down here and prepare to just repel him... At the very least, we have the resources that we need in order to last an extended siege here, right? I wonder if we should collapse the bridge... Force them in through the underground... And even then, they'd be forced to climb, right?"
"We do have resources... but they may not even have time to climb. We could always set off a chain reaction with the bombs once everyone is out." Gina announced as she folded her arms. "A chain reaction? Uh... that would make a huge explosion..."
"No matter what, it seems as if we are going to lose this city. I rather that than the people."
"That's true, but this is the last chance we have to fight back... If we lose Baticul, then we've lost the war... We need this organization here... If we can repel them..." Fenix shook his head. "Then there's some chance we can defeat him... The God King earned the title... Because his army has been impossible to defeat... But this is the first time we've had a coalition to fight against him." He continued. "May I suggest we move the people to the port instead of the slums then?" He asked. "In the off chance that it DOES seem that we've lost the city... That way they can retreat safely while we have a last stand."
"I suppose you are right. It is less safe, as it is more likely to be attacked, but it is a risk I am willing to take." Gina smiled as she saluted the both of them. "Either way, we should set up. We do not have very long before they arrive, according to reports."
"Right... yeah, we should hurry. We need to get our own troops into formation." Jessica replied as she unsheathed her blade as rested it onto her shoulder. "We can't afford to lose this."
"Of course you can't. Not when Carleon is at stake," Came another voice, feminine and strong. Jessica whirled around to see a woman with blue eyes and black hair with white tips. Dressed in a pair of shorts, a vest, and a blue scarf tied onto her right bicep, she appeared to be a typical human being. Except she wasn't a human being. She was an angelus.
"And you are?"
"She's a friend." Said another person, having arrived behind her. "Hm... It's funny, the last time I was here... I had found a treasure that was one of the keys to Sostice's defeat... It doesn't seem to be that useful a thing against this foe..." He said. "So, do you all have a plan?"
"Er... Yes?" Fenix blinked, totally lost. "Um... But... Who are you two, really?" He asked. "Some kind of warrior couple?"
"Yes, that is what I'm curious about..." Jessica sweatdropped, feeling confused.
"Couple? Oh Yulia no," The woman replied as she waved her hand frantically to dismiss the thought. "Well, I guess I could sa-"
"That you're a... a god..." Gina said, her jaw having dropped. "What in Yulia's name is going on? You fit the description of Leira Raine perfectly... Are you really?"
"...Fine, yes. My name is Leira Raine. Pleasure to meet everyone." Leira sighed. Of course, Jessica did the only rational thing she could have thought of doing; pass out.
"... Honestly, people would be more surprised to see the dead walking about than a god come down... Their enemy is a god, no?" Ezrak asked. "But me, a honest to goodness walking dead person... Not even the time of day." He sighed.
"Erm... What...?" Fenix asked. "Just... Something... Wait... Why are you here?"
"We are here to help. Heard there was a bit of a skirmish going on here." Leira told them as she twirled her sunglasses in her hand. "Seriously, you're going to need it. As you said, we are dealing with a god, so what better way to do that than... well having gods attack him head on?"
"You mean you can handle the God King on your own!?" Fenix asked, stunned.
"If that were the case, he would've already fallen... I was knee deep in a duel with him before she rescued me." Ezrak explained. "I had prepared to die that battle."
"Yes, and what a waste that would be." Leira chimed in as she placed the glasses over her eyes. "Right, so what's the plan anyway?"
"Well..." Gina explained the situation thoroughly, and when she was finished, Leira had a great idea as to what was going on. "So, would you all allow me to join and try and repel them? I'm sure I can do a bit more than that."
"Of course." Gina bowed her head. "Now, let's move!"
And thus the preparations had been set. All archers were in their positions, and Baticul itself was knee deep in defense, despite the bombs lying around, currently being investigated and disarmed.
Jessica was sitting on a rock, having moved to her position. She, herself, was to set a pincer attack against the first wave, to throw off the other waves. "Yulia, I'm getting impatient... and nervous."
"It could be far worse." Ezrak said, having been placed in the younger woman's unit. "This attack plan isn't impossible... I led a very similar assault... Managed to win a battle where we were outnumbered 100 to one... With vastly superior enemy armaments... We can win this."
"Hey, miss scion, you aren't scared are you?" Came Fenix's voice over a radio. "And Whatever your name is... Gwen... Something, you ready for this?"
"How did I get dragged into this again? And it's GLENN, ma'am." Glenn snarked back over the radio as he leaned back against the wall. "What the hell am I even supposed to do? You all kindly didn't give me a damn duty."
Jessica responded through the radio, her eyes to Ezrak. "I'm not scared! Shut up Fenix!!! Otherwise I'll just call you a girl too!!! Screw you!"
Leira merely chuckled, having heard it all over the radio. She was on top of the tallest building in Baticul, the manor, resting before the big showdown. "We can definitely do this. He has a weakness. All of us do."
"Well if you know of the God King's weakness, now would be a good a time as any to tell us what it is." Fenix said. "And furthermore, where have you been the past seven years? I would think this a big enough calamity..."
"We needn't worry of that now." Ezrak told him. "The point is that we don't have his weakness... But we have a plan, and that may count for something." He said with a smile.
"Great, so we're fighting a battleship with sticks stones and stategy, is that it?" Fenix asked.
"Pretty much. We are hoping this strategy would expose his weakness, so we can use it as an advantage later." Leira stated over the radio as she crouched. "Look, we only have one shot at this. Glenn, is it?"
"Yes'm."
"Go underground. We need to wipe out the second wave in one go. And since you know of the lost arte, you need to use it to our advantage."
"How?"
"I can herd them into the exact location. I want you to set a trap that will bury them alive, away from the bombs. Underneath that area, which I think would be about five hundred feet away from the bombs and Baticul, before they are caught, I want you to set up a spell that causes an explosion upon impact. Once they fall, they will meet the explosion, causing them to also be buried alive." Leira announced. "Gina, I want you to help him get over there."
"Well, I can definitely do that. Of course, that only gets rid of two waves so far in one swift go." Gina smiled. "There are more than ten waves, sadly."
"The third wave can be held off by the summons. That's when the summoner comes in. She can hide in one corner and trap them just a couple miles of Baticul. You can do that, right?"
"She's mute." Glenn interrupted.
"Oh... well uh, I'm going to assume she can do that."
Jessica smirked, already liking this plan. "Of course that leaves us with at least seven waves left. I'm sure we can throw ourselves into it. As long as we hold them off first so everyone can flee, then we can push them back.
"And that's when I can come back in and help." Leira announced.
"Still... The best hope is that nobody breaches the city walls..." Fenix said. It was at that point that someone broke radio silence.
"I'm making my move here, adding to fortifications. I've managed to collect all the bombs." Ryan said. "It took a little time, but now we have a possible trick... Who wants to take out one or two waves of enemies at once?"
"Hey, a fourth and fifth wave would be nice." Gina announced as all of them agreed. "What is your idea, Ryan? Also, good job collecting the bombs. Also, Glenn? Meet me in five at the entrance."
"Yes'm." Came the response before that line was cut off for a few moments. Glenn closed his eyes, feeling very tired at the moment, though refreshed all the same. He leaped down from his spire and ran for the entrance, making sure to meet up with Gina to follow up the destruction of the first wave.
"You'll see." Ryan said. "I'll be at the highest spire, preparing. Please make sure that nobody assaults the spire, okay?" He asked.
"Thing seem rather smooth, don't they?" Ezrak asked.
Jessica sighed at the mention. "Yeah, I'm rather jittery about that one. Hopefully nothing goes awry." She then unsheathed her blade and hid, beginning to wait.
Glenn, meanwhile, met up with Gina, and quickly he saluted.
Gina smiled in reaction and saluted in return. "Great, you're here. Let's get a move on."
"Ma'am." Glenn merely followed, trying to keep his composure as Gina began to speak to him. "So you're an alchemist huh? Maybe I should have Ryan train you further. You seem to have an extreme amount of potential, possibly just as much potential as Ryan himself."
"Really?" Glenn asked as he stopped, a little shocked.
"How about it? Hell, we could use a summoner as well. You can rank high, get paid very well... only if we succeed in this war."
"...I'll have to speak to Anna about that one..."
Meanwhile, Leira was standing at her post, waiting for the first wave to come in. Jessica was at the end, waiting to strike the stragglers just in case.
"All well and good, but isn't there still the tension between your nations?" Ezrak asked, standing next to Jessica.
"Well that might work out well... Since the whole marriage between the daughter of the count and the duke's son here kind of flopped with a kidnapping... Having high ranking soldiers on both sides may do some good." Fenix said.
"True, it is probably best." Jessica said over the radio. "At least we will finally get some peace that way. Don't make us beg, kid."
"Haven't you had the thought that I may be actually older than you?" Glenn piped up, then sighed. "Wait, wouldn't that separate us?"
"No, not at all."
"Well, I can ask her, but only on one condition."
"What's that?" Gina asked.
"DO not make me out to be important in any way, shape or form." Glenn replied to her as he soon found both her and himself at their destination.
"Oh, not a problem. In fact, if I can get some paperwork done, I can probably shoot you up a few ranks so it can be done quicker. But let's talk about that after this battle." Gina announced as she glanced upward. "Right. I'm leaving you here. I have to go out and get my men ready for the sixth wave, after Ryan hopefully succeeds with the fourth and fifth."
"Gotcha. Good luck." Glenn replied before getting to work by setting up a large trap right underneath the ground, one large enough that would cause the wave to fall. He then began to work quickly at creating the bombs, ensuring that they were visible, as it didn't matter in the end if they saw it or not. It would result in them being blown up anyway.
Leira eyed from her post for just a little longer, before noticing a large troop heading their way. "Alright, it's showtime. They're approaching quickly, so let's get aiming. Jessica, it's all on you for the first wave. I'll be ready to take out the stragglers."
"Hey, kid, age doesn't matter. You're unranked, you're the kid, kid." Fenix said. "And Anonymity doesn't work for the whole keeping the peace thing."
"Listen, it's not the worst thing that could happen. You'd be famous but not hounded." Ezrak pointed out over the radio. "I'm breaking into their flank."
"...Damn." Glenn sighed. "Right, well, we'll talk about it after." May as well agree to it... hopefully they don't mean marrying too... after all, she doesn't wanna marry T_T I-I don't care! I'm still gonna try! He thought before hiding behind several rocks.
Jessica raised her hand, waiting for the right moment. "Not yet, Ezrak. We need to surprise them." She announced. "Then break into their flank." And so she waited... the footsteps came closer...
And immediately they were in range. "Fire." She whispered as she pulled back the string of her bow, then fired an arrow that pierced into a foe's chest, striking him dead. And thus came the shower of arrows, all launched at the flank. Leira noticed the sign and swooped in, her hand already glowing with mana as she scouted the stragglers.
"Now." Ezrak said, moving like the soldier he was. He flitted through the enemies, clearing them off with a series of quick and efficient movements. "All green." He said.
"First wave, cleared!" Jessica announced as she hurried back. "Move to the second position archers!" To her that meant in the field nearby, where they were hidden amongst the grass. They guessed that the seventh wave would be cleared that way, and this would leave them time to prepare. "We just need to keep a strong front. For the sake of our planet."
And the second wave slowly emerged, beginning to fire off already. "Shit..." Leira then swooped in, swirling around the soldiers as she took out two of them. Of course she managed to lead quite a few after announcing her status, though she had troops pull back so that they would be closer to Glenn's area. Soon enough they were, and Glenn managed to listen in the stomping. "Right, with a radius this wide, I can clear it." He sighed before clapping his hands. "Please do something right in my life..." He groaned before pressing his hands onto the ground, now waiting. And soon enough, a flood of them fell through the ground thanks to the spell. "NOW!" He cried to himself as he activated the bombs, sending great explosions against the foe, sending them all sky high, only to fall in raining chunks of flesh. "Everything clear for the second wave?" He called.
"Almost!" Gina threw in as she sliced through the remainders, with only her best behind her, slashing every which way until the second wave was cleared. "Okay, all clear! Okay, make the call Glenn!"
"Right! Anna, now we need you. Just surround them with the spirits and wail on the third wave while we all rest." Glenn told her over the radio, though there was no way she could respond through it.
'Okay.' Anna motioned to no one. She had a radio, but she was stuck listening, so nobody would know she'd heard until a circle of spirits descended on their targets.
"I'm ready." Came Ryan's voice over the radio. "Here I go." He said, a sudden flash appearing above the city, a large cannon appearing.
Gina smiled, seeing how well this was going. She then breathed in, now on her mount of a powerful horse, then charged through. Now my troops go in and take care of the sixth wave...
Leira swerved ahead, deciding to destroy several batches of enemies with blasts of ray and tornadoes here and there. "Hmph... huh?" Quickly she reached for the radio and spoke quickly. "Everyone, the final waves are merging! It's huge!!!" She cried out, hovering.
"Dammit, didn't expect that... we need to take them out in one go, otherwise they'll easily storm us!" Gina cried out. Jessica, meanwhile, flitted through the fields and into the trees to help take down several enemies with her bow. "Guys, we're in a tight spot! They're coming faster! Do we have all the citizens out!?"
"Yes, they're all out. We need to protect Baticul though!" Gina shouted as Glenn nodded. "Right." Climbing out of the ground, he began to dash forward to meet with the others. "Glenn, use the water underground and the sand to create mud to slow them down. Waist deep, if you will. But you have to beat them to the location. Hurry!"
"Y-yes'm!" Glenn cried out as he sped again, unsealing his wings and moving along as swift as he could go. He reached it in a matter of minutes, seeing the force, which caused him to widen his eyes. "Damn, that's a lot..." He breathed before creating something that he considered was better. A quicksand. "There, a quicksand has been formed. There's a certain line that you guys shouldn't come across. I marked them, because the area is hidden." He announced, before dashing back to a tree. "I'll help take them out from the front."
"You moron! Get back with the rest of us!"
"As long as I keep hidden and take them out little by little, the less that come over, right?"
"...You better not lose a limb, soldier."
"Right."
Jessica began to fire constantly, nailing several foes in the head. "We have to work faster if we're going to repel them! There seems to be over ten thousand of these bastards!"
"All field units, fall back now, this is going to be huge. I'm deploying Baticul's Big Boy." Ryan said, preparing to launch.
"Well, that's the battle planner, then." Ezrak said. "Ezrak Tenue, retreating back to the city. "Listen, don't release the boats just yet." He said.
"Of course. You hear that? Keep the boats ready to move, but don't release them JUST yet!" Fenix commanded from atop Inazuma.
"Right." Gina then sheathed her weapon, but not before slashing through an enemy's neck. Jessica continued to fire, knowing that she had to keep up her work. "Running out of arrows..." She sighed before getting ready to attack with her sword.
Glenn, however, already was moving forward, striking a coming wave with Grand Omega at the cost of his own blood. At least it wiped out a good amount. But it was nowhere near enough. "Gotta keep it up." He sighed as he noticed Jessica moving in. "Hey, here to help." She smiled at the man. Glenn bowed his head, then created a sword himself. "Let's see how my swordplay has improved!" He grunted as he noticed the wave already getting stuck in the quicksand. As they sunk, the man took the opportunity to leap and strike, landing on top of a foe's shoulder before stabbing him through the head, then leaping onto another and taking his head clean off, working on the process as he performed rather somewhat Taini-like acrobatics, though it was nowhere near as balanced. However, it was enough. Jessica immediately joined in on the "fun", leaping onto enemies and stabbing them along the way. "You're not bad, Glenn! Where'd you learn all of this!?"
"My Mom and Dad."
"Really? Cool."
"Listen, save the sentimentalism for later, you two, you need to retreat, NOW!" Ryan said, his anger frightful, even over the radio. "You won't live past the attack if you're in its range... Dammit!" He groaned. "First Light, grab those two before they're killed, will you?"
Leira, not liking the feeling at all of being ordered, swooped down anyway to retrieve the two. Much to her surprise, however, they were gone. "Where the..."
"Oh, we're in town already." Glenn announced over the radio.
"How...?" Leira blinked, confused as she flew back.
"Seraphim."
"What?"
"Nothing. Point is, Jessica and I are here." Glenn let go of Jessica's wrist. Jessica stretched, feeling rather proud of herself for being able to take out at least a few.
Fenix ran up to Jessica, smiling. "I heard how you did. Great job!" He told her, Inazuma behind him. "Well... This is the final push... Today the God King will be forced to retr-"
As he spoke, there was a flash and a deafening boom, the bomb going off. The wind that hit the city almost seemed stagnant.
"That's... Insane..." Fenix said, hearing a clap, then the sound of a chant over the radio.
"Glory of the world, power of creation... Arise, heed my command! I dub thee, ancient powers, come forth and grant me thine light!" Ryan shouted, another bright flash being seen, then a sudden flush of water, the fallout turning to water and starting to run into the city.
"Wow..." Fenix said, suddenly blinking. "Damn... EVERYONE OFF THE BOATS, NOW!"
Despite Jessica's earlier blushing, she kept her composure as she climbed onto drier land. Glenn took to the air, hovering and sighing, watching the waters flood through. Gina closed her eyes as she whispered into the radio. "Leira, scout out for any remainders."
After several minutes of everyone off the boats and searching, there came a response. "No one left. All corpses and bodies have fallen. We did it guys."
"Hooray!" Jessica cheered, with everyone happy about the success. Everyone celebrated in their own way. Jessica actually dressed up just to celebrate, despite there being no event and Gina having made a great meal for all of those who contributed in the battle.
Of course, there had to be some talk of matters. Glenn was sitting at a table, staring off into space, wondering where Anna had been the entire time. He shook his head, not sure if he was even that hungry, but he knew one thing. He wanted that damn alchemic knowledge. "Hmph."
There was a flash all of the sudden, and a figure appeared in the center. "... This is the rabble that defeated my army?" He asked, staring about.
Ryan looked at him, blinking. "... That's... no..." He said, seeing a highly beaten, but still very alive Equinox. "Now... You will all die here." He said, only for Ezrak to approach.
"Not today." He said, brandishing his blade.
'We can win this now!' Anna said, standing next to Glenn.
Glenn grit his teeth, slipping on his gloves as his hands began to glow. All or nothing... he's got us cornered. "Right! Not facing death today!" He cried out as Jessica made her stand, revealing her blade. "Sorry, but he's right. We are in the middle of relaxing, after all!"
Leira folded her arms as she leaned against the wall, ready to jump in if he struck. "Just don't be too cocky guys."
Ryan stepped in as well, snapping his fingers, causing a wave of water to smash into the already soaked God King, and in response, both Ezrak and Anna raised their weapons.
"Indignant Blade!" 'Go!' They both cried out, Ezrak slashing with electricity, Anna summoning Volt to blast him.
"Back up Inazuma." Fenix said, brandishing his blade and charging in, making a decapitating lunge. "HYA!" He cried out, thrusting forward.
"Ha!!!" Jessica raised her bow, deciding to use that instead of her blade, and fired at Solstice's head. Glenn suddenly jumped in and clapped his hands, calling Omega as his spell, before throwing a whirlwind of elements at the God King. Leira finally jumped in, her hands already lifted and raised, aimed at the head of Solstice. A white powerful blast erupted from her palms. "RAY!" She cried out. Quickly she jumped back, looking to everyone. "Gotta get everyone out of the way if I can pull Celestial Ray."
A burst of energy suddenly reflected all the attacks out into space. "Do not test your luck." The god king spoke, clearly unamused by the torrent of annoyance he had been subjected to. "Are you done with your useless resistance?" He roared. "You... Raine... I thik you will be the first to die!" He said, focusing his energy.
"Like hell!" Came a voice from above and a purple blur, the eternal sword slamming into the god king's hand, then disappearing just as quickly. Valor landed, taking an offensive stance. "Right... Sorry we're LATE!" He said, staring fiercely at Equinox.
"Tch... We needed saving after all that? But who are these people?" Fenix asked, stunned.
"Ah, that's my son." Ezrak said with a smile.
"So a family reunion? Lovely." Ryan sighed, clapping his hands together then touching the ground, calling forth another torrent of water. "Don't let up!"
"Like hell we'll let up!" Glenn, opposite of Ryan, clapped his hands together and threw them onto the ground, merging a spell to create several flaming stone spears that struck at Equinox's head.
"Guess I'm stuck on the support front!" Came a feminine voice, as a regenerating spell was cast on all of the people so they could recover quickly in case of injury.
"Phoenix Strike!!!" Came a flaming ball that slammed into the God King.
"Heh, guess you all were going to save my butts, huh?" Leira chuckled as she held up her blade. "Hey!" She called over to Valor. "You DO know Vorpal belonged to me!?"
"No time for that!" Jessica pulled an arrow back, then summoned light mana as an added effect. Letting loose the light arrow, she hope it struck.
Gina, also with a bow and arrow, shot from away, knowing that getting too close for her would mean death.
"Knowledge, yes, but there's the small problem of it being a part of my body at the moment." Valor shrugged, offering her a spectral sword, not to make any game references at all, sheesh. "But I believe we have a battle now, do we not?" He asked, summoning a spectral Flamberge as well. "And you know... I don't think we need support... Just one big push!" He said.
"Hm... Just overpower ultimate power?" Ezrak asked. "I like this plan.
'I guess I'm game.' Anna said, summoning Origin.
"This seems wrong somehow." Ryan shrugged, alchemying himself a sword of Ice wrapped in water.
"No point dwelling on that, is there?" Fenix asked, raising sword and shield. "Hey, Jess... You should probably use that new sword of yours for this!"
"May as well put all of our energies into this, rather than waste it!" Gina called out as she aimed for Equinox's head again. Leira raised the accepted blade, forcing it to glow a bright white as she unsealed her white wings. "The time has come. We're stuck here anyway, so may as well drive him out. Thanks for the sword by the way." She breathed.
Glenn slammed his fist into his palm as a flare of light mana suddenly swirled around him, fierce as it could be. "Time to make my parents proud." He announced as he began to conjure a spell inside his head. New arte, here I come! Heaven's Pyre! He thought as he closed his eyes, as he channeled mana into his foot before tapping it onto the ground twice, now using the mana from the ground to fuel the arte.
Jessica looked to Fenix and nodded, unsheathing the Key of Lorelei. "As scion, I should be able to contribute in some way..." She told him as her own blade began to glow.
Shinta's wings burst, spanning a good fifteen feet as they enveloped him in blue flames. "Hey Mom! You never got to see me pull this one off! Of course, I don't deserve the title of the Blue Hawk if I don't help out!!"
Reis began to play, aiming for Solstice's forearm as the fonons gathered there in order to blast it off.
"Alright then I'm in too! Eternal Judgment!" Valor said, firing. All the attacks collided upon the God king, and what they saw in the end was simply astounding.
He had encased himself in pure energy as a last ditch effort to survive the strike. "I... Impossible... That I could lose here..." He groaned. "No... I refuse... I will not die!" He said, his body dissolving. "The war... Isn't over... I will destroy each and every one of you." He said, dissolving until only an eye was left, one with an EVIL glare, though it soon faded as well.
Ryan took a deep breath. "... We won." He said, smiling. "The siege of Baticul ends on the God King's defeat!"
"..." Glenn turned around, then backed away, sitting in the corner. What of his words...? He thought as he glanced upward at the ceiling.
Of course, the heroes ended up fleeing. Leira stood tall at the spire, wondering what she should do next. "I'm living... so do I just live out life while I wait? Sounds a bit boring." She sighed before throwing on her sunglasses and flying off. "Mom! Hey, wait!" Came Shinta, who approached his mother. "Uh, hey, um just wanna catch up and all. I have a lot to tell you!"
"Heh, I'm sure you do, Shinta." Leira smiled in reply. "Well, I guess we can get a bite to eat and talk."
"Sounds good." Shinta nodded.
Jessica was sitting outside at a tree, merely resting. Her attack took everything out of her, and she just felt very tired. "Ugh... sleepy..." She sighed. "Wonder what we should do now... guess work on protecting the people."
And Glenn...
"YOU IMBECILE!!!" Came Gina's voice throughout a tent. Glenn was sitting tight in his seat, facing her wrath. "You deliberately disobeyed Ryan's orders back there! What if you were killed!?"
"I was caref-"
"AND that is where you are WRONG soldier! You may be an alchemist of high calibur, but you do NOT think you are above everyone else in the army!"
"...Yes'm."
"I would have promoted you to third lieutenant due to your skillset, but your listening skills need work."
"Hmph." Glenn turned his head away.
"You are young. I will forgive you for that. But I will only rank you as Chief Warrant officer, with a low pay grade. You are to also to be Ryan's apprentice, you got that?"
"..." Of course Glenn grit his teeth, angry at the fact that Ryan was better than he. "Yes'm. But, what of Anna?"
"If this is to work, she should comply with the other army. Let them decide."
"Tch..."
"Dismissed."
"Yes'm." Glenn stood up from seat and marched out with his alchemist's coat and a badge. "Dammit... this whole tension thing better be cleared up because of this... just wanted to have an easy going life... guess I'll have to work hard for that. Make sure I get to a high rank in a year... Just gotta work on listening."
"You need to work on a lot of things." Ryan said, shrugging, standing outside the tent. He had a straw in his mouth that he had been chewing. "Now then, we need to plan our next moves carefully. The God King is down, but he isn't out. We can all sense that." He explained. "Our next move should be to expand past the Instamarsh once more." He said. "The loss of our help is a bit of a taxing blow, but we also have a new standing commander for the forces of the Malkuth Army, though Gina will still be acting commander for Kimlasca-Lanvaldear." He explained. "Let's go, we're meeting with our commander now."
Already? Can we not even catch a break? I'm tired... Glenn thought as he nodded. "Who is the new commander for the Malkuth Army?" Glenn asked as he followed Ryan over to the meeting room, his head practically clouded over as he fidgeted. Wonder how you're managing with the other army... ugh, hopefully you'll be able to come back soon. He thought with another fidget as they approached the room. Glenn calmly waited for Ryan before walking in himself. "Wait... I thought I was working under the command of the Kimlasca-Lanvaldear army... That's what she told me anyway." He sighed as he sat down, waiting for the ever so boring meeting to start.
~~~~~
"You did well, you know." Fenix told Jessica, wearing clean garb for the first time in ages. They were stationed in the home that once belonged to Luke fon Fabre, as was a good portion of their military. "And I finally feel like my hips are shifting back into place." He sighed. "But... Pretty soon we'll be starting our next campaign, won't we?"
"Pretty soon." Jessica sighed as her head was leaned back against the tree, her eyes to the skies, though the sun had set by now. She was just outside the home, wanting some peace and quiet before she moved on. "Hopefully it will be as successful. We have a bit though... just not sure how long." She then tilted her head to Fenix and smiled brightly. "But you did well too. Starting to become a man." She chuckled.
~~~~~
"... It isn't over." Valor said, sitting in a hotel room with Reis. He had walked her off after the fight, needing to be alone. "We haven't made up for Terios' loss..." He groaned. "We won... But it felt like a shallow victory."
Reis' head was only lowered, not really saying any word to Valor. It was clear that she was devastated, and didn't really want to talk. Terios... Without him I feel... Her heart felt a stab as she thought this. After what seemed like forever, she spoke. "I miss him..."
~~~~~
Anna blinked and sighed. 'Why'd you sign up for this again?' She asked, blinking, and suddenly getting a prickling on the back of her neck. 'I mean... It all seems kind of hardlined and needlessly difficult!' She said, clinging to him suddenly. 'Just... I think we need to spend our time away on more important things!'
"More... important things?" Glenn asked as he was thrown off by the sudden clingage. "How do you mean? I mean, what can be more important then saving Baticul? Taking out the King himself? And I only signed up because I was practically strong armed into it. Speaking of which..." He held up his ring finger, seeing the Philospher's Stone. "I should really give that back."
'What is it?' Anna asked, confused as to what it was. 'And I meant more important personal stuff!'
"It's a Philosopher's Stone... a stone that magnifies any alchemic spell by one hundred fold!" Glenn grinned as he turned his head to Anna. "Huh? Personal stuff?" He asked, now really confused. "But... shouldn't that wait til after this whole war business? I mean... you said it yourself..."
'But I'm friiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiisky!' Anna whined. 'I just wanna do something! I need to do something, or else I'll explode! Make your grandma help me or something!' She pleaded. 'Just this one time!' She said. 'I'll even make her the sandwich for it!' She continued. 'I'm sure she'll help us out this one time!'
"Help you... not be frisky?" Glenn asked, now feeling quite oblivious. Though he had to admit, she was quite the beauty in that uniform back there. And the fact that they haven't done anything in a couple of days. Which was a new record, mind. "Or not... impr-" Shaking his head, he realized he couldn't even say the word without flushing wildly. "Er, yeah... but I'm sure she would help us out with whatever you want." He then cried out to the air. "Grandma!!!"
Poof.
"What am I, a fucking Genie? I swear..." Serenade groaned as she placed a hand onto the back of her head. "What's up, kids?"
"Uh... can you make us... like not frisky just this once?" Glenn asked rather embarrassingly, apparently not understanding what Anna really wanted from Serenade.
'... What the... NO!' Anna said. 'Make me not able to have a kid this time!' She said, shaking her head angrily. 'I need to act out the friskiness for ONE time! Something big is gonna happen soon, and I need to work it out!'
"Ack! S-sorry... wait, you need to work it out?" Glenn asked as Serenade blinked. "Okay, so... you don't... right... one time." He shrugged as Serenade shrugged. "Alright, well I only demand half a sammich for something so trivial and small." She mentioned as she stretched. Placing a hand on Anna's shoulder, she grinned widely. "Just this one time though. Done!"
"That was... uh... weird."
Of course, Anna was totally prepared, to the point that she'd already had an entire sammich prepared. 'Keep the change!' She said, smiling. 'Now... Hotel?' She asked Glenn, smiling widely herself.
"...You are my favorite child. Just saying." Serenade beamed to Anna before floating away with a sammich, feeling as if the sammich made her entire YEAR. Glenn blinked, a little shocked and amazed by his grandmother, then turned to Anna. "O-of course." He flushed as he placed his hands onto his hips. Giddy on the inside, Glenn managed to hide that fact. "Risk it in Baticul?" He smirked.
'How is it a risk?' Anna asked. 'We need this, right? Now more than ever!' She said, leading him to a hotel and stretching, waiting for him.
"I uh... well I mean if a war is going on..." Glenn snickered as he paid for a room and scampered up. "Man, I suddenly feel like a kid, doing this. It feels like we are sneaking off from parents or something." He explained to the woman as he entered the door.
'And that's supposed to be a bad thing?' Anna asked. 'It just adds to the anticipation and fun!'
"I know! And that is what will be the best part! Two lovers rejecting the presence of war..." Glenn attempted to make a movie synopsis before tackling Anna onto the bed, snuggling into her, which kicked off his purring reflex. "Warm and snuggly..." He mumbled almost cat like.
'I'm not rejecting... I'm preparing... Kukoo...' Anna mumbled, grinding into him and wanting to take her clothes off already.
"Hey! Sorry for acting a little crazy here... kinda been... well deprived. Of course it would cause insanity." Glenn pointed out as he undid her uniform with his teeth and slipped it off of her body, his teeth nibbling the lobe of her ear as he wrapped his arms around her from behind.
'Kuu...' Anna shivered a little, the nibbles getting to her almost immediately. 'Heeeeey... The madness is coming...' She motioned, stroking his thigh gingerly.
Glenn blinked, confused for possibly the hundreth time this day. "Madness?" He asked as he managed to slip out of his own shirt and coat before moving his mouth from her lobe to her neck, kissing the skin gently, though throwing a few licks in there.
'Yeeeeeaaaaaah...' Anna groaned, shivering again, her eyes starting to glaze over.
"Hehe..." Glenn grinned widely as he then squeezed a hand over her breast, beginning to massage it as the other hand moved to her mound, inching closer to the nub until he found it, then began to stroke lightly there as he continued to kiss her neck, wondering how far he could go before he could drive her crazy.
'G-guuu...' Anna groaned again, clenching him and starting to bite and suck at his neck.
Glenn, of course, flipped her over so that she was on top, already undoing his belt. Slipping off his pants, he continued to rub her with his hands, even when he heard the sudden crackling of a radio. "Glenn? Glenn, come in! This is Lieutenant General Gina speaking!"
Of course he just ignored that.
And Anna kicked the radio against a wall, smashing it. She then started humping his leg. Like a dog.
Add the whining, and I would have to take my grandfather's title for the day... But geez, you seem worse than all of my family members... combined. Glenn thought as he twisted his body, only after moving out from under her so that he was basically on top of her, though he had her stomach down which his torso conforming to her back. He then managed to curl around her with his mouth on one of her nipples, suckling rather greedily as he removed his boxers, deciding to surprise her. Trailing his finger down to her hole, he thrust his finger in once as he removed his lips from her nipple and placed it onto her neck again. And just as swift as he could be, he removed the finger and thrust himself inside as hard as he could, hoping to jolt her as he gripped onto her thighs, knowing very well that a position suited for her at the moment was doggie style.
Glenn, just sayin, yer a horrible person. Actually, that was me :P
'Kuuuuuuu!' Anna exclaimed, flipping her tongue from her mouth with a lustful grin.
Glenn grinned as he continued lapping at her neck happily as he pumped into her as deep as he could, his arms now around her stomach as his body vibrated from the constant purring noises he was making. "Holy hell this feels good... Maybe we should take a longer break from this..." He mentioned in her ear as he then nibbled her ear again.
Anna lowered her body, placing her arms, chest, and chin to the ground, still flopping happily, her eyes rolling back as she panted.
That was when Glenn shifted, beginning to feel closer as he gripped her sides, holding himself inside her before thrusting again. As he did so, he managed to move a finger to her nub from behind, rubbing all the same as he began to thrust again, enjoying her reactions to his performance.
Anna arched her back, clenching the bed and starting to shake her rear end. 'Kyuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.....'
"Aaaaaannaaaaaa..." Glenn groaned happily as he felt himself coming very close, causing him to speed up as he massaged her nub, holding her tightly with his other arm. In a matter of minutes he shot into her, feeling himself already relaxing as he moved for Anna.
Anna shivered again, unable to gasp from the warmth filling her. She still moved mindlessly until her body started to spasm slightly.
Glenn smiled as he noticed her orgasming, then slowed down, feeling exhausted as he moved for a little while longer, then pulled out happily, following the action with a kiss. "Body... so perfect..." He groaned as he fell back onto his back, sprawled out.
"... Yeah... Me too..." Valor spoke. "I was always jealous of him too... But I didn't want this to happen to him." He spoke, gritting his teeth and walking over to her. He suddenly wrapped his arms around her shoulders, hugging her. "I'm... I'll watch over you for him... Maybe we can find a way after..." He hesitated, knowing that the words he would say would sting him due to the jealousy. Still, this was for Reis, so it didn't matter. "Maybe we can find a way to restore his soul... So that you can rest with him again."
~~~~~
"I'm the one who recruited you for the Alchemy Knights." Ryan pointed out. "The Alchemy Knights are a division of the Malkuth Army." He sighed. "In any case, you've already met the man. Many years ago he was a field commander for Malkuth, and he has graciously reenlisted in order to help defeat the God King." The Lt. Col. explained.
~~~~~
"... Very funny." Fenix said, sighing. "Look, we have some time off, do you want to get a meal and discuss what our next move will be?" He asked her.
~~~~~
"We should be." Aria said, crawling up into the bed and starting to undress. "You know, my little pupil, I missed you." She said.

Glenn shook his head, a little confused, but then sighed. It's only been a long day... He thought as he raised his brows. "You know, that doesn't really help me any. I met a lot of people in the past couple of days." He told him as he drummed his fingers on the table, yawning. Just want to have this mee-
Guuuuurgllllleeeee...
Yup, as soon as possible. I'm hungry. He then pulled out the ham sandwich out of his pocket, eying it. ...Why hasn't this molded? Should... should I eat it?
~~~~~
Reis nodded slightly, accepting the hug, though it made her fidget. Of course, she was only used to her family's hugs and Terios' but no one else's. Without even knowing it, she began to relax, though her eyes were to the floor. "I would like that. Thank you, Valor." She whispered before a silent sob emitted from her throat.
~~~~~
Jessica obliged, standing onto her feet as she placed her hands onto her hips. "That's fine with me. May as well start planning ahead. So, what would you like to eat? I'm game for anything right about now."
~~~~~
Jace couldn't help but flush slightly, suddenly remembering that the dog collar was back on his neck. "You did? I'm surprised... someone as cold as you... actually caring? Well, other than caring for your daughter, of course." He whispered.
"We spent quite a bit of time together." Aria pointed out. "And I was only thinking of how concerned I was for the fact that you may have found me boring." She pointed out.
~~~~~
"Whatever's closest, how's that?" Fenix asked, leading down. They eventually arrived at a small cafe, where they could order one of several sandwiches. "Though to be honest, I realized how little planning we can do at this stage." He sighed. "Because of the alliance."
~~~~~
"You're welcome." Valor said, holding her closer, though letting go soon after. "So... How about I get us some food for the time being?" He asked, feeling uneasy with his own actions.
~~~~~
"Field Marshall Ezrak Tenue." Ryan said, leading into the building, where Ezrak could be seen, now wearing military garb instead of civilian clothes. "So, you're the young alchemist?" He asked Glenn.
~~~~~
"I think you might crack first." Zach said, sticking out his tongue. "Curious like a cat, you are."
"...Puuuurr... Oh Zach, stooooop..." Alma whispered as she nipped at his tongue, continuing to rub against him before throwing him off the bed and pinning him onto the floor. "Juuuuust teeeell meeeee..."
~~~~~
"...I found you a bitch, but you definitely weren't boring. Sure, you acted distant whenever... well yeah, but..." Jace shrugged. "Eh. Who doesn't get distant? At least you didn't turn into a complete psychotic... psycho." He told her. "However..." Jace turned his head away for a moment. "I didn't like the fact that you didn't tell me who you really were. Like being at least 62 TIMES older than I am, for instance."
~~~~~
Reis nodded as she continued to peer at the floor. "Pizza." She simply stated, as her hands were folded neatly in her lap. I want to rest again... just forget it all. Perhaps even have my own soul crushed. She thought as she flitted around with her flute.
~~~~~
Glenn glanced upward at Ezrak and nodded. "Yessir." He stated, feeling very nervous being around a man such as he. He did not know what else to say, as he was trying his best to be respectful and quiet.
~~~~
"...So what can we do? I mean, resting is out of the question." Jessica announced as she sighed deeply. "We can't afford to rest." Ordering a BLT, she grabbed a drink and sat down, waiting for her order.
"Well... For now... Just... Talk, I guess?" Fenix asked. "I mean... We're eating lunch, no reason to be silent, right?" He continued. "I mean... We can't discuss strategy much anymore, but we can still talk about other things." He pointed out.
~~~~~
"It wasn't a necessary detail." Aria pointed out. "Nor was my strength. I have distanced myself from the world for my own reasons, and I have been hurt more than once. You haven't done that though." She said, placing her forehead to his.
~~~~~
"Relax, both of you." Ezrak said. "That strategy was quite phenomenal. As was your display." He continued to Glenn. "Alchemy truly is a frightening force.
"Thank you, sir, it is an honor." Ryan said.
~~~~~
"Tell you whaaaaaaaaaaaaat?" Zach asked, smirking.
~~~~~
Valor nodded and headed out, soon returning with ingredients. "I got your favorites." He tole her with a faint smile, though it was clearly forced. He was probably almost as down as she was, sadly.
"Is... is it sad that I really don't know anything to talk about save strategy and... military?" Jessica asked, as she picked up both of their sandwiches and placed it on the table.
~~~~
Jace reddened slightly, then chuckled. "Hah, even if I tried, you'd kick my ass for it." He simply told her, feeling his heart thump. "If anything, I only need to hurt one person. That's all. But... I guess I'll just let the past slide. I-It doesn't matter. It just means you're WAYYYYYYYYY more experienced than I."
~~~~
Glenn let out a sigh of relief, feeling a bit more clearheaded. "Thank you sir." He stated, feeling, for once in his life, proud of himself. "So uh... what is meeting really about anyway?" He couldn't help but asked, hoping that he wasn't treading on thin ice.
~~~~
"VHAT ZHAT SOMEZHING IZ!" Alma barked before immediately biting his neck, her hands now just pinning his sides, wanting to not give him what he wanted. She knew. She. Knew.
~~~~
Reis turned to Valor, then forced a smile across her face. "Thank you. You know, you are a really good friend." She said as her voice cracked, her hands still fumbling with the flute. I'm sorry Valor...
"Yeah, well... Not really good enough." Valor said, staring off into space for a moment. "I just... I couldn't save him." He sighed. 'And I couldn't help you back then either... Yeah, it would've hurt back then if I had helped you and been your... Well... It would have hurt... But not like this... Not for you.'
"Just eat up." He continued. "And... Stay safe. We need to continue on... For his sake."
~~~~~
"What what something is?" Zach asked shrewdly.
~~~~~
"We're looking at our options for our next move." Ryan explained.
"Precisely... Baticul is the closest city to Heimdall... As long as the God King has ground on our other side, we're open for a pincer attack at any time..." Ezrak explained. "We have three possible options... Linea, Chesedonia, and Palmacosta. As it just so happens, we have three armies." He continued to explain. "We can send forces to all three, and liberate them. The God King's forces have always been weak in Linea and Chesedonia, since they aren't closer to his capital... But up till this point, it sounds like we've only been able to turtle ourselves in. Now's our chance for a counter attack... We send our strongest force to Palmacosta to block their central route, and send our others to Linea and Chesedonia to expand our territory."
~~~~~
"It comes at a cost." Aria said, undoing the top button of her shirt, revealing she was wearing a push up.
~~~~~
"... Funny, you weren't really the strategy one either..." Fenix laughed. "So uh... How have you been since the reveal?"
"How have I been?" The young woman took a bite, savoring the bacony flavor. "I could have been better. To be honest, I just kind of want to retire at this point. I know I wanted to go far... but now that I have, I just want to try and live life in other ways. H-how have you been?"
~~~~~
"Hm?" Jace only moved as close to Aria as possible, very curious as to what she could be talking about. "What cost is that?" He asked, forcing a large swallow. He then placed a hand to her cheek, suddenly fearing that this was a dream, and that he was still truly dead. It just didn't seem natural for him to be alive again.
~~~~~
Glenn swiftly nodded, feeling his heart sink for a moment. I'm not going to see her for awhile, am I? He thought sadly as he then placed his palm onto the table. "Right, so..." He thought for a moment, then suggested, "How about we, as the Malkuth army, siege Palmacosta, Kimlasca-Lanvaldear in Chesedonia, since it is the second largest area, and the Oracle Knights take Linea?"
~~~~~
"GAH!" Just then she began to grope him, her teeth still in his neck as she lapped furiously, hoping to get her frustrations out.
~~~~~
Reis shook her head at his final comment, though she still ate. No point in continuing on... who ever disturbed our rest... who would honestly torture us like this? She thought as she only found enjoyment in the slice of pizza that she ate.
"Hey..." Valor said. "I mean it." He told her, trying hard not to make a biting comment as he continued. 'Even if I would rather just be with you now...' "We can keep going... That way we can save him." He said. "I have a thought... Let's head back there... To where it happened... The fragments may still be there... If we can gather them... We may be able to repair his soul."
~~~~~
"Hey, isn't that my job?" Zach asked with a smile as he began to grope his wife right back. "I don't really have anything to grab there, you know."
~~~~~
"Hm... A solid plan." Ezrak said. "Very well. Tomorrow morning, we shall begin our marches." He said. "You have the rest of the day to take care of any personal business... And if any of the sieges last more than three days, I will want that army to retreat back to Baticul. We will also cut the forces back if we are successful."
"Sir." Ryan said, saluting.
~~~~~
"I am very fragile." Aria admitted, gently kissing him.
~~~~~
"... Dunno." Fenix sighed, sitting back. "I guess I've been trying to work on having a personal life... Not that I've gotten anywhere with that." He admitted.
Glenn also nodded, then saluted once he stood tall. "Sir!" He then exited, feeling rather intimidated... and I mean REALLY intimidated by Ezrak's height. He then hurried along, wondering what he could do. For once, he felt lost. "Wonder if I should just find Leo right now... Find out more about why he's such a horrible person." He thought to himself. "Or... visit my parents." Nevertheless, he walked to the cafe and ordered a small snack, not all really hungry.
~~~~~
Jace only kissed her in return, then placed his hands onto her shoulders. "You don't seem it, at all. I mean geez, both physically and mentally..."
~~~~~
"Personal life? How do you mean? Trying to score a girl?" Jessica asked as she took a sip of her soda as a break from the meal. "I said I could help you, geez. It's not really that hard. Even the most obese guy in the world can score a woman."
~~~~~
"Vait, so are you saying you don't have a crotch?" Alma laughed as she continued to grope. "You really do not know vhere I am groping, do you?"
~~~~~
"Yeah. Alright. We should leave now then." Reis pointed out as she stood up. "I hope this works... I really do." She then unsealed her emerald wings and leaped out of the window, turning around as she waited for her friend.
