Ai carefully swept up the girl and gazed at her shoes. "They are very, very beautiful! Handcrafted too!" She smiled. "I like them a lot! I bet your cousin, Aunt Taini and Uncle Derrick will love them too!" She stated before turning to Irvine. "Ready to go? I have the sandwiches, by the way." She grasped the small box that held them.

"I'm ready." Irvine said, his wings unsealing. "Ready to fly, Mai-Fei?" Irvine asked.

"Uh huh!" Mai Fei said, unsealing her wings, one black, one white. Death in two different cultures. Spooky.

To Irvine, however, it wasn't unsettling. It was his little girl, after all, even if she could command zombies and had creepy death wings.

However, to Ai, it still bothered her, even if only slightly. Pushing off with her white wings, she and the rest of the family made their way to Taini's and Derrick's home near Heimdall. It was a fairly long flight, and Ai helped her daughter occasionally rest by grasping her until she was once again ready to fly. She was only three, after all. "So, the both of you going on 32, hm?" Ai asked before landing before the Atma's home. "Gee. Seems like time is flying by way too fast."

"Well, it can't be helped. Time will pass as it will." Irvine sighed. "I just want to spend as much time with our little Mai-Fei as possible before she has to leave."

"Why would I have to leave, daddy?" Mai-Fei asked.

Irine's face seemed bleak for a moment, but then it passed. "No... You wouldn't have to leave. You can stay with mommy and daddy... Forever if you wanted to." He spoke.

"...E-exactly." Ai shot him a saddened face, only to feel pained. But quickly she recovered and knocked on the door. "Yeah, forever. Nothing will change that." She mentioned before Taini opened the door. "Uh, hi! You're here a bit early..."

"Yeah, we are! We just wanted to... well spend more family time, I guess. R-right Irvy?" Ai asked as she gripped her daughter's hand.

"That, and we promised that we'd arrive some time today." Irvine said, holding up Mai-Fei. "Say hello to your auntie Taini." He said, trying to ignore how glum the previous exchange had made him.

"Hi ant... Ant... Antaine?"

"Ah, close enough." Have a feeling that's going to stick... Taini smiled as she knelt down to the girl and smiled. "Hi! Wow, you've grown a lot! How old are you now?" She asked, already knowing her age, but hey, it was cute.

"I'm... Uh..." Mai-Fei blinked, looking at her hand. "Um... How many is this many?" She asked, holding up three fingers.

Irvine couldn't help but chuckle at the young girl.

"Well, that would be three! Hard to believe you're almost a grown-up!" Taini grinned as she patted the girl on the head gently. "Hey, I want you to meet my son. He's your older cousin, you know!" She told her before as she walked inside. "Glenny!" She called. A small form suddenly popped up from the couch. Golden curious eyes and build like his mother, hair and height like his father. Scrambling down from the couch, he then ran behind the couch, a little frightened.

"Glenny... she's your cousin. Aren't you going to say hi to Mai-Fei?"

"N-no... she's big and scary..." He mentioned, being a lot smaller than his own younger cousin.

Mai-Fei blinked, looking at Glenn. "Is that the one who's like my shoos?" She asked her mother, not meaning any disrespect or to make herself better, she was just still confused about the whole cousins thing. Irvine chuckled.

"This should be an interesting trip." He said with a laugh. "So, my older sister, what have you all been up to? And where is your husband? Not out neglecting anyone, I hope."

"Pfft, me, that's who." Taini sighed as she sat down. "Day before my birthday too. Just decided to up and leave without saying a word. Better come back." She mumbled before changing the subject quickly. "Ah, but we have been good. You should be seeing the boy's progress. I've also got him learning Mizuhoan, by the way." She grinned. "We really need to catch up though... geez, why couldn't you see us sooner?"

"Well, yes, he would be the one that likes your shoos." Ai replied with a small smile as she patted the girl on the back. "You should try to make friends with him though. He seems like he needs one. He looks very shy."

Glenn continued backing away from the girl, though he tried to get a good look at her shoes. "Um... y-yeah. I like your shoes." He mentioned in a very squeaky toddler voice. "Mm." Of course, he clammed back up again.

"My shoos are shiny and... and... Uh..." Mai-Fei seemed to space out for a second. "They're mancrafted!" She laughed.

"Being a parent is a riot, huh?" Irvine asked. "I'm sure he'll be back soon, though." The man said, hugging his wife. "Mai-Fei hasn't been very easy... To be honest, she's been much more interested in the walking corpses and telling them what to do." He said as the sound of grass crinkling outside was heard for a moment.

"Must be..." Taini, of course, didn't finish her sentence knowing that it would sting both Ai and Irvine. Instead, she turned her head to the children. "Heh, she seems to get along very well with him. He doesn't normally talk to anyone. Reminds me too much of his father." She chuckled. "She seems so easy going..."

"She definitely is. I bet she's just as easy going as Glenn..."

"Heh Heh heh... no. Glenn is a tough one, I will say that much. Hopefully he will grow out of it. Bet Ela would have been easier..." The woman muttered as she heard the crinkling. Huh...

"...Mancrafted?" Glenn blinked, not knowing the term. Then again, he didn't know what handcrafted meant either. Instead he nodded, attempting to understand. "Mm. They remind me of my shoes... but they look cooler... Can I have cool mancrafted shoes, Mom?"

"H-huh? Um... Yeah... you don't think the sandals are okay for you in this weather?"

"Nu uh... I want cool shoes. :("

"My shoos can light up when I step." Mai-Fei said, stomping around. "But dey broke..."

"No, Mai-Fei, you're thinking of your other shoes." Irvine said as Derrick entered.

"Oh, tank you, daddy!" Mai-Fei said, causing Derrick to blink.

"So, I guess that's little Miss D'Carn then?" He asked, placing grocery bags on the counter.

"..." Glenn didn't know what to do. Focus on his cousin or run up to his father and hide behind his leg. Or run up to his mother and hide behind her leg. So, he ran over to his father and hid behind his leg, shaking his head. "Don't wanna talk no more." He said to everyone.

"Yes, that's her. She's an adorable little girl, isn't she?" Ai replied as she looked to the man. "What took you so long Detective Pipsqueak?" She asked, merging two old nicknames that she gave him into one, possibly worse, nickname.

"Watch it." Taini sighed in response to Ai's comment.

"I was buying groceries for the big meal tomorrow." Derrick said, rolling his eyes. "Now what's wrong, kiddo?" He asked his son, picking up the boy.

Irvine sighed. "Well, at least he was doing something, right?" He asked as Mai-Fei unsealed her abnormal wings and started playing with them, probably shocking at least two people in the room.

"... The heck?" Derrick asked, staring at the wings.

"Don't want to explain." Ai stated before anyone had a chance to say anything. "So what did you buy? I'm kinda of curious Pipsqueak. Hm... maybe I should call Glenn Pipsqueak Junior."

"You try that and you'll find yourself underground for a whole day." Taini threatened before eying the wings. Wonder... does it have to do with? No, that's just weird.

"Don't wanna talk no more, that's all." Glenn replied, being adamant about his decision. "Wanna do alchemy. :( And I wanna fly. Why can't I fly? :(" He asked, looking at Mai-Fei's wings.

"What's alchemy?" Mai-Fei asked, blinking. "Don't you have wings?" She asked her cousin while gripping her black wing.

"I don't think that I'm saying what we're having now..." Derrick said, annoyed at the woman as Irvine spoke up.

"You've been teaching him alchemy?" He asked.

Ai huffed and made a pouting face towards Derrick before turning to her husband. Taini, of course answered her brother's question. "That's the thing. No... he's been teaching himself. He picked up an interest a year ago, when he saw a book that grandma and grandpa gave me awhile back. Of course it was the fundamentals of alchemy. So... he begged and begged for me to read it... and I caved in." The woman admitted. "Ever since then, he's been drawing circles and playing with his father's magic."

Glenn shook his head, obviously lying. "Don't have wings. Don't wanna."

"You do too have wings. You're just too stubborn to want to fly, hon." Taini grinned toward her son, who shook his head again. "Don't wanna fly :(. I wanna show you alchemy though..." He told Mai-Fei before walking to a piece of paper. He took it and placed it on the floor, then took one of his crayons and began to draw a circle with lines.

Ai raised a brow. "Now this, I gotta see."

'Am I the only one who thinks that this could end up as a bad thing?' Irvine thought to himself, watching regardless.

Mai-Fei suddenly giggled and started laughing. "Hi floaty girl!" She said, waving at the air. "Oh? You wanna talk to cousin?" She giggled, apparently not paying attention to the alchemy display.

"... Here he goes again." Derrick sighed, sitting back and starting to put away the groceries.

"Okay!" Mai-Fei said. "Here, cousin! She wants to talk to you!" She continued, standing in the middle of the circle in the critical moment.
