Well I'm lookin' to actually be a published author, and I'm thinking of using a pen name With a name like Kristin Melville, it has to be good I could get biffed on for having a girly first name, or that one famous author whose last name happens to be Melville by peg me for the wrong genre or something, even though it is famous.
So I was wondering what people thought about that... And maybe I could run by some cool names I thought up? >3>

Raemina would actually be a good first pen name, like I use Lenna Suzaka for my pen if I ever wrote a story.
Raemina....
Yeah, my brain is broken.

Well actually my pen name here is more like Rae Mina, but I didn't know about spaces when I made the account here. In the end it just stuck with every other account I've made, but I want a real sounding name that stands out in a way. Like a kickin' first name with a familiar or common last name

*blink* That name has a kind of archaic sound to it. I like the last name of Weeks, but I got some advice to pick a last name that some person in a library would most likely see. Like one that starts with something from the first half of the alphabet

Hur, it's kinda like a pun on Herman Melville I like it, but I dunno...
Anyway, I just wanted to see what people thought, especially considering my name.

I would like to be a publish author, but would use a pen name aswell. Thing is though, to be published, you can publicly share your work, or you wont get published xP

Lol, maybe I should word that better.
I want to become a published author one day, and I would use a pen name aswell. But Sadly, to be published, you can share your work publicly, for example, If you put your work on a website, such as this one, you cant get that published by most publishers, as the reader could find it here and read for free. So the Publisher wont Publish it.
But that has nothing to do with pen names. Im jsut mumbling stuff that I read about when I was thinking about TRYING to get something published.
As for a non-girly name what about.
Ember Hart

Well the easy answer for that is to just not share your work anywhere >w> Ember Hart sounds like a book series, like Artemis Fowl or something

Lol, well theres a character name then xD
And thats the hard part for me, becuase I'm super critical about my work, though it may seem like I just pop out my story chapters. I've actually read over them three to four times, checking for any single thing I dont like, and changing it. And then I still usually dont like it perfectly, so I post it up for other peoples opinions. x-x.

Well you've got the editing idea down fairly well, but when you try to get publish the only opinion you get to have on a first draft is yours. Then after a couple of revisions show it to someone else, to get fresh eyes and opinions and then revise it two or three more times, show it to an editor. If he likes it, then you get to do MOAR revisions Anyway...
Julian Wright. I rather like this one, but again with the W last name ;_;

Use your middle names. And if you have just one, use the name of the street you first lived on for your last name.
