"Well... how about we just have a walk? Maybe that will make you a little more happy."

"I am no longer. He is power hungry. I am not. I am my mother's daughter." Julia continued, her eyes shining with determination.

"Alright." Nocturne took Lolita's hand to pull her up, a gentle smile on his face.

"Yet you would pass on if you were mortal, and be separated from your immortal mother. Would you want that?"

Lolita grasped the man's hand and together they stepped out into the world, down the streets of the city.

"If it was best... yes. Even she must agree that I must be a pest at times." Julia joked.

The two walked through the streets, garnering curious glances from passers-by. One man called, "Lord Nyx, what are you doing with her?"

"You would leave the world you so cherish behind for a small handful of people? Why?"

The woman only waved the passer-bys off. "Fooey... what is their problem?"

"Because I love them. My family... everyone. They all mean the most to me. I would stay by mother and yet... I feel as if I have my own family to stay through to the end. Is it really that big of a deal?" Julia asked.

"Perhaps they aren't used to seeing me with anyone besides my family." Nocturne mused as he and Lolita walked the streets.

"My final question: Would you rather die with your family... or live forever with them?"

"That is true... we should ignore them." Lolita rolled her eyes.

"I would... live forever with them of course. But that's impossible." Julia laughed.

Nocturne still felt hesitant about leaving his old life behind. But then he thought of how Cecil had corrupted his own flesh and blood against him, how the entire family had turned on him to defend the man. 'Cecil, you will suffer...'

"I must warn you: Your husband and children will fall ill, to the brink of death. Continue to support them as you have, however, and they will not only survive, but thrive."

Julia frowned upon the words.

"I will. I promise. I will support them until the very end."

"I will..." Julia raised a brow before going back down to the room.

As soon as she got there, Julia was greeted by the sight of Sergei huddled on the ground, shaking with violent tremors. "M-M-Mom?"

"Sergei!?" Julia screamed, running over to the boy. "Sergei!"

"Wh-wh-what's happening? I feel like I'm gonna die..." The boy shook horribly, trembling like a sapling in a violent gale. "Dad and the others have the same problem... What's happening, Mom?!"

"It's... the goddess." Julia whispered as a tear fell down her cheek, picking up the boy and setting him in the bed. "Shhh... I'm going to check on the others. I'll bring you something quick."

Cecil was trying to help the other children while simultaneously shaking like a leaf in the wind himself. As soon as he saw Julia, he smiled tiredly and said, "Love, something's happening. Can you help me with the children?"

Nocturne felt a small, unfamiliar power blossoming in Espoir. 'It reminds me of Julia's aura, but it isn't. This is much weaker, much more faint.'

"Cecil... you too..." Julia frowned as she nodded, rushing to their winds and settling them in beds with plenty of blankets. She made sure that all of them were close enough to be monitored, and as for her husband...

"Is something wrong again, Nocturne? You seem like your head is so far into the clouds!"

Cecil sat slumped in a chair he had placed in the middle of the room. "What's wrong with us? Suddenly it was as though all our energy was drained..."

Nocturne frowned and shook his head. "Things are in disorder. All is not as it should be." He muttered the words, forgetting that it wasn't Lenneth standing next to him.

"I'm not exactly sure myself... but it's not good." Julia responded as she prepared some soup for the family.

"Oh forget them!" Lolita cried. "You took my body... and you're with me! You HAVE no family now! Isn't that what your desire is?"

Cecil shook head and stared down at his hands. A very faint glow surrounded them. 'What in the world could this be?'

"It's not that, my dear. Something has gone wrong with the very reality of Vangelon. My senses are beyond those of normal humans; there's something going on that should not be." Nocturne took Lolita's hand gently and looked into her eyes. "I'm sure it's nothing. You're right; I belong to you now, and that is all that matters."
