Hi everyone this is backstory based on Lucas and Maria Raine, the parents of Liam and Liera. I will do my best to remember all of the facts as best I can. Episode 1: Creation "This is my world...a world where evil is crushed and those with power are ended...this is Carleon," Solstice crooned from his chamber. The twisted god of darklight has but one goal. To create happiness...by any means nesecerry. "Hm, I see...so he is rising...Abyssion," His voice trailed off. "If he returns no race can match him...and he will attack me next," Thinking more closely Solstice was struck by divine inspiration. "I will create a race...with blessed power...to destory the overlord...and yes resume peace..." Solstice first crafted the soul of a Maria, a talented mana user capeable of using both Dark and Light artes, a feautre unique to only the oresoren. Next he created a human with a different make up. He created a human...who was made from darkness and light. "I shall intertwine these destinies...and make it so they sion the wepons against the overlord...all is well," and so began the story of Lucas and Maria. |

Episode 2: The war "Elves, surrender the captives of the town of Sariel!" A rather boorish and gruff general yelled. He turned to his lieutenant and nodded to her, signalling the time when they could strike. "Please sir, the negotions can be saved please," The female light blue haired woman pleaded. "Liuetanant Raine, do not interfere with our judgements. You are here solely because of your power and nothing more," He spat back. From the barrier city a female elf stumbled out. She was instantly apprehended by a small band of soldiers and brought in front of the general. She shook on the spot with fright. "P-P-Please end this siege, our children-our children," She cried desparately. "Surrender the villagers of Sariel!" The general grabbed her by her neck. "We-we-we-we-we dont have them, we don't know anything about them," The elf woman howled. She was pouring with tears, her clothes were ripped and she looked desparately into Maria Raines eyes. The young woman looked back in a fearful tone, empathising with the elfs pain, "Please, our people can not hold up the barrier much longer...please...end this siege," the general grinned and looked at Maria. She was a strong one indeed. A mana user capeable of using both Light and Dark artes. "Destroy the barrier Raine!" The general yelled. "No, I need evidence first, please miss-," Maria was interupted as the General drew his blade and grabbed the elf by her neck. He savagely moved his blade across her neck. "If you don't I will kill her," The general stuck the blade in a little so that a small trickle of blood came out of her neck. He muffled her mouth as she made sporadic movements. "Ok. Light that shines from the holy temple, I ask that you rain down and pass your righteous judgment on the wicked-Seraphiac Judmenet," Maria chanted. A large gate like object opened up in the sky. It hovered directly over the barrier city. Drawing in energy it released a shower of deathly brilliant rays down on the barrier. It shattered with ease and the elf womans eyes went into shock. "Excellent," The general grinned sadistically. He sliced his blade across the womans throat. Cruelly she didnt die and instead rolled along the floor before finnaly choking on her own life blood. "Wha-," Maria gaped, "You monster!" She ran ahead into the city. Looking inside she saw corpses everywhere, mostly women and children, "Why? How did this happen!" "The barrier was based on the elves life energy, when you destroyed it they died hahahahahahaha," The general laughed creeping up behind her. "Where are the villagers of Sariel!" Maria demanded. "They have long since been dead, but we needed to get in here for another reason," The general sneered, "The villagers of Sariel died in an explosion of dark mana, it transfromed their bodies into the undead. Search this village, he should be here!" "Bastard!" Maria yelled firing a ray of light from her hands. It hit the General between the eyes and went straight through his skull. He just reeled his head back from the attack and looked blankly at Maria, "What are you," "Look out!" A concerned voice yelled. A large bolt of lightning struck the ground tearing apart the generals body. A man in very light clothing, that was too revealling to be decent hopped down from an elf building. He stood up straight letting his brown, long and messy hair stand down. "Who are you?" Maria asked. She then placed her hands on her staff sensing there could be a fight. "Do you want to make up for this?" The man asked her. "What?" Maria shook, "Yes...but why are you doing this aren't we enemies," "From the looks of things...we are now both enemies of the state," The man looked as he saw scouting soldiers witness their talk and were soon fleeing back too their higher ups. "I-I want to know why this had to happen, why all these innocent elven lives were lost," Maria said strongly. "Then come with me," The man stretched out his hand. Cautiously she took hold of it and they ran south away from the city both traitiors of the country of Gadoria. "What's your name?" Maria asked as they arrived near a spring "...Lucas," He replied washing off in the stream. "My name is Maria Raine...I want to know the truth," She said uneasily. "...The truth is a hard thing to come by in this reality," Lucas sighed as he looked at the waters relfection. Both he and Maria were staring back at each other unaware at what Destiny had in store for them. |

Episode three: Revalations Maria was washing through her hair. It was long and blue and shone softly against the gentle lapping ripples of the spring. The man known as Lucas was washing his body rather ruggedly. He looked worn out as if he had run for miles without stopping...or rather being incapeable of stopping. His dark brown hair was wet and had now come down the side of his face dripping. Maria had changed out of her uniform attire and was now wearing a brown overshirt and skirt. She looked like your average everyday peasant. "I don't want to draw attention to myself in a soldier's outfit," She grimaced as she tied back her hair. Lucas gave an indifferent nod and instead sat crossed legged beside her. He stared deeply into her soft eyes with his hardened electirc blue iris. She blushed a little and quickly turned away, "Um...your clothes..." "What about them?" Lucas asked annoyed. "Um..your...you are exposed," She blushed again this time redder. Lucas took a double take as he looked down. He went as red as Maria and quickly darted up. "H-Hey don't look!" He said stealing Maria's uniform from the nearby rock. He went the rocks and quickly ripped it so it lost its female trimmings. He came back in a new ripped and thankfully less revealling outfit. "Looks good on you, for a guy," Maria smirked. He brushed off her remark. "So who are you?" Lucas asked resmuing his crossed leg stance on the floor. "My name is Liuetanat Maria Raine of the Gadorian Empire," "I see," Lucas said as if it meant absoultely nothing. He stood up and walked into the middle of the spring. "Hey!" Maria shouted, "You were supposed to tell me about yourself ya know!" "...what do you want to know," Lucas said as he shot his hand down into the water. His fingertip flashed purple and a lightning bolt rushed out of his chipped nail. It snaked through the water and shot a fish into the air cooking it all the way through. Maria's eyes widened in total awe as the young man caught the fish and began eating it. "H-How did you do that without an incantation?" Maria said alarmed. Never in her life had she seen someone perform mana without an incantation before, "Oh I see, you use runeology right?" "No," Lucas said indifferently. He resumed his crosslegged stance next to her and stared into her gentle face. "Then, how?" Maria shook her head, "Tell me where did you come from, what are you doing, tell me everything!" "Are you a noble?" Lucas asked her bluntly. Maria turned a violent shade of red. "You dont answer a question with another question you neanderthal!" She slapped her hand across his face. He turned his face back and smiled. "I see so you are," Lucas looked down and gave a grimace, "Well m'lady I will answer all of your questions," he gave a feigned respected bow. "Do not patronise me!" Maria said annoyed clasping her hands together. A rune like glyph appeared in her palms. She began to chant when Lucas used that fingertip again. He pressed it right into the centre of the glyph and sent a ripple of energy through it dissolving it into nothingness. "You take too long with spells," Lucas groaned. "Please! Start talking! I need to know why my country would do such a thing! Why would they lie about our allies, Weretis Beacon's, people being abducted!" There was a caring, deep affectionate tone in her voice. The kind of paternal voice which Lucas had never heard before. "...they were after me," Lucas explained, "They probably used the explosion at Sariel village, as a cover to attack the Elven Village, Eden, were I was hiding out," "Why are you so special?" Maria moved her face closer to his. She was staring into his eyes that shone with a lack luster and dissapointed gleam. "...I can use mana...without the need for a rune or verse," Lucas told her quickly, he brushed over the facts as though they caused him pain to speak. "What? How so?" Maria said intrigued. "...I am not a normal human," Lucas whispered, but just loud enough to be heard, "You are a Light and Dark Arte user correct?" Maria nodded, "Then give me your hand," Taking her gloves off gently he connected her hands with his and interlocked them. Slowly the hands began to glow with a pale light. Her right hand with a bright white, whilst her left hand shone a deep black colour. "What is this feeling?" Maria said as she slowly took her hands away. She stared at them as if her hands had been blessed by some otherworldly force. "...you know all human bodies are made up of the elements, Fire, Water, Wind, Lightning, Ice, and Earth right?" Lucas asked her. She nodded slowly. "And you know that some people can use mana relating to these elements right?" Again she signalled her knowledge, "Well...thats just what bodies are made up of...but souls include something else...two other forms of mana," "Light...and darkness right?" Maria repeated from memory. "Yes...those who have a deeper connection to their souls...can use these forms of mana, however...I am, different," Lucas minced his words, "I am made solely of Light and Darkness," "Thats impossible," Maria said standing to attention, "Thats impossible..." "You have seen it yourself, your mana reacted with my body," Lucas said rising to her level himself. "No! I mean-I mean just why would they make me exterminate a village and cause all of this just for you!" She said harshly her hand on her sword. "It's what I am capeable off," Lucas said, "The Gadorian Empire, Weretis Beacon, Neleumiariam a lot of people want my power...and if my blood or mana is transferred to anyone...they can create artificical mana users," "A-Artificial!" "Yes, I can only use Lighting artes...our souls determine our mana abilites, however if my mana is transferred into someone who cant use mana...then they become mana users themselves...its called the influence theory," Lucas explained, "But at a price....their bodies eventually decay and they die," "How come?" Maria said softer. "When there are no ties of blood or spirtual mana....then foreign mana is rejected and twists the body..." Lucas spoke enigmatically. "Thats impossible to prove, no one has ever been able to transplant souls into other bodies or even conduct mana through living things," Maria spoke defiantly. "They learned a lot from my body...they learned how to lower the barriers between body and soul...I dont know how but they did it...thats why they want me...to increase the number of mana users in their armies...controll light and dark artes like yourselves...who knows where it will stop," Lucas slumped on the ground, "So I ran to the elven village, I asked them to help me, to seal my artes permanatly but it failed. My body would break all of their seals and restrictions and then about a month ago...I did something which caused a lot of the world to take notice of this place," "What-," Maria said as a twig snapped. A small platoon of soldiers circled them. "This is what I did..." Lucas's body began to build up in static energy. It centred on his back and destroyed his clothing, though luckily not all. Two giant broken wings appeared. They were not solid and were made up of violet energy. He seemed to vanish but flashed into view behind the soldiers. He placed his hand on their shoulders and their eyes rolled back as giant flashes of light errupted through their eye sockets. He dispatched them all one by one with ease that Maria had never seen. Such merciless rage yet at the same time a deceiving calmness about his actions. "You...are a living weapon..." Maria gasped as she saw her winged protector standing beside her. Around them a macabre of dead soldiers littered the ground like rag dolls. Edited by lancer1237, May 16 2008, 12:16 PM.
