Fundraising sale

Colorado Springs Christian Schools will hold a Christmas consignment sale 8:30 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday and 7-11 a.m. Dec. 6 at the CSCS High School Auditorium, 4855 Mallow Road. Items for sale include gently used clothing, dance wear, sporting goods, accessories and DVDs. There will also be a silent auction. Proceeds will help fund the school.

Charity betters its goal

Operation Christmas Child, which collects shoe boxes filled with toiletries, school supplies, toys and other items for needy children worldwide, exceeded its goal for the Colorado Springs area. Local coordinators hoped to collect 24,200 shoe box gifts; the total was 24,891.

Operation Christmas Child is a program of Samaritan's Purse, a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization.


Book signing

Chris Coppernoll, a Christian author and host of the nationally syndicated radio show "Soul2Soul," will sign copies of his newest novel, "A Beautiful Fall," noon-2 p.m. Thursday at Mardel bookstore, 5964 Barnes Road. For more information, call Sandy, 573-0402.


AIDS Day service

An interfaith service to observe World AIDS Day will be held at 6 p.m. Monday at All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church, 730 N. Tejon St. Participants include All Souls Unitarian, Catholic Charities, Metropolitan Community Church and Temple Beit Torah. State Sen. John Morse will be among the guest speakers.
