Games Finished in 2012.; How many games can we finish before the world ends?

Finished Atelier Totori, I wish it didn't end so soon, well I got the normal ending, I ran out of time so I wasn't able to beat the main story branch's final boss. As for the game, the world map is much bigger than Atelier Rorona's but each area is smaller so I guess it turns out to be about the same size. The alchemy is same as usual and the battle system is very similar to Rorona.

I finished DK King of Swing, I absolutely hated that game. Poor game design, frustrating levels, unforgiving platformings all that make this game a horrible experience. This, mario vs donkey kong series AND DKC returns almost ensure that I'll not touch any non inhouse DK games ever again.

DKC Returns isn't so bad. I'm playing it now and I'm enjoying it quite a bit. I like the main stages of the game for their variety of platforming situations. Sure the controls are a bit sloppy, as DK doesn't stop on a dime like Mario does, and those bonus K stages are insane, but I am enjoying the challenge, for the most part.

maybe I was a little harsh when I include DKC return in that bunch of lackluster games, but it is definitely a huge step back comparing to DKC 2 and 3

I finished DKCR today. This might have been the most difficult game I've ever played. It wouldn't have been so hard had I not gotten all of the puzzle pieces and KONG letters in every stage, but I felt like that was the challenge of the game, so I just HAD to do it for a big dose of gaming pride. I did not do all of the special K stages, though I did manage to finally complete the first one that was giving me so much trouble earlier.

I don't feel like this is a bad game. This game is just too hard. This game is NES level, old-school tough. I loathed the rocket barrel stages, but enjoyed the exploration and challenge of obtaining out-of-the-way puzzle pieces. In the end, I cannot recommend this game to anyone but the most masochistic of gamers.

I finished Alpha Protocol, the gameplay is definitely broken (stealth element not implemented well enough for a spy action game, melee is too strong, some guns like shotguns are way too weak while other guns like assault rifles are way too strong), the story is pretty decent and the non action element of the gameplay is very well done. I enjoyed the game overall but I don't think I'll want to replay it.

I finished Batman Arkham City this weekend. I didn't get 100%, only because I am wanting to play more games before the end of this year, not waste my time grabbing hundreds more riddler trophies. When I go back to replay this game a decade from now, I'll go for 100% completion then. :lol2:

The game was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed it. I have no complaints about this game; it is excellent! It's probably a good thing I didn't go for 100% too though, because I might have started hating it or something.

Finally finished my playthrough of Shadow of the Colossus. I've had this game since like 2007 or so and would usually only beat one colossus in a sitting. The colossus fights were fun, and exhilarating, but the repetitive nature of the game caused that I would beat one colossus and then get bored, then pick it up a long time later to beat another one, then set the game down again. This is probably the longest 13 hour playthrough I've ever done. :P

But I did like the game, it has captivating art (that humongous bridge is amazing), nice graphics even if a lot of the edges are sharp and jagged. And a beautiful soundtrack. Occasionally (a lot of the time) during boss fights, the controls were pretty frustrating. That and some of the physics were just really annoying. A combination of the controls and physics made some of the fights very frustrating, thus why I would set the game down immediately after beating them. Most of the fights were fun though, but there were a few (like the last one) that I just did not enjoy at all. Some of the harder fights were made harder and more frustrating by having to deal with the controls and physics while trying to figure out how to fight the thing. At those times, I was battling not only the colossus, but how to play the damn game and control my character as well. lol. The fights where I didn't have to pull up GameFAQs were the most fun, and I thoroughly enjoyed those.

I wish the story didn't feel so... empty though. All the pieces are present for a majestic story, but the game kinda leaves this open to interpretation. I can appreciate that approach, but I feel that that approach is somewhat wasted on such a beautiful game. That "make what you will of it" approach seems more suited to game with.. I don't know, less potential? I feel like this game deserves a complete package, not the open-ended approach it got. I don't know, just my opinion.

Now I gotta get the SotC/ICO package for PS3 and play through ICO.

There are quite a few people out there who have dug deep to create a story for this game. I can't say that any of them were right, but they certainly seemed to put a lot of time into thinking about this game. I'm sure a lot of these theories can be found on the GFaqs board.

I beat Uncharted 3. Working on the Jak and Daxter collection.

Beat Zero's Escape: Virtue's Last Stand. Awesome game, but there are some tedius puzzles near the end. Overall though, I loved it and if the next game comes out on a system that I have then it is a definite purchase for me. There were a few plot holes left wide open, however, and I believe they were meant to fuel the next game.
