Finally finished up my video game inventory. It took me a long ass while, but I've now got an Excel sheet listing every game I own. It breaks down like this: System Name Played? Beaten? Rating Comments I've then color coded games that I'm not quite done with into 3 categories: Want to 100%, Played but need to eventually beat, and Haven't played yet. Everything else is default. I even went through and listed the games I used to own, but traded in or sold. There's probably a number of those I've completely forgotten, though. Still, it's a pretty conclusive list to help me keep track of what I've got and what I still want to do. I used to just have a list of games I hadn't beaten. I didn't like that model because there were games on there I'd played, disliked and never intended to beat. Or games I couldn't beat. So, with the new method, those are no longer flagged since I'm done with them. Also, I used to keep a listing of everything I'd beaten. Problem again is games that I didn't finish. So, now I've got everything I own or have owned since getting into gaming in one convenient place all marked to keep me organized. The one thing I'm unsure of is whether or now I want to go further back and catalogue the games I played as a kid. The couple of Genesis, PC and GameBoy games I had before getting into gaming. |
