http://www.rpgamer.com/news/Q1-2010/031810a.html Not this particular title, but what it represents. Sacred 2: Fallen Angel Two Worlds Two Worlds 2 Borderlands Hunter They all did it or are going to do it. It of course being a "FOCUS" on online co-op play. I may be an extroverted life-of-the-party in real life. But when it comes to my adventure games and RPGs, that is something I'm very introverted about. That is something I like to do on the solo tip. However, more and more games seem to be bragging about their online experience. Two Worlds 2 has already boasted that their online play will rival many MMOs. While that's not easy to believe considering the source, the fact remains that they are attempting it. I just hope that this doesn't become the norm thus shunning people like me who like to enjoy adventures on the solo tip. That would be very disappointing. Though I don't really care for online gaming. There are exceptions. I like co-op shooters online because I play the tactical ones and definitely welcome human help versus the horrible AI. Plus, if you've never gamed online with TFM, Squid and Rag in the same room.... You don't know comedy. I don't know. Maybe my tastes have room to evolve and hopefully they will. But there's something about my favorite genre that I don't really want to share with other folks. 8) |

Blame proffesional reviewers. They are our voice. They are the ones who are telling them what we want. They are always docking points for the lack of MP. |

So when they complete their focus will they all turn to crystal and go away? I like my offline games as well. Especially since being on the road a lot doesn't always afford me a good internet connection. I think that game is more of the ORPG variety though. I think the last LOTR game was the same way. By the way, look at this... http://www.rpgamer.com/games/ff/ff14/screens/ff1498.jpg http://www.rpgamer.com/games/ff/ff14/screens/ff1491.jpg |

@ Squid... I don't know tho man. I've seen polls that always say that more people want to play online than don't. And the numbers for have always been significantly higher than the ones who don't want to play offline or don't care. |

@ DCL, yeah, I saw the FF14 screens when they posted them. Looks beautiful. That's a game I'd consider playing online, but alas, MMOs charge fees to play on their servers. So I don't play them. |

Plus you'd have to get a PS3 or a super computer to play it. |

Not necessarily. I know MS is still working with SE to make this happen on 360. But whether it goes down or not remains to be seen. I don't know what it is that MS does that pisses all the MMO people off to the point where they don't want to bring games over to 360. Especially since 360 supposedly has the illest online interface in all of gaming. |

MS doesn't allow for companies to use their own servers and charge fees for their service. |

FFXI and Phantasy Star Universe were on Xbox360 too, so I'm sure they let MMOs charge monthly fees. Edited by kknd, Mar 18 2010, 08:30 PM.

Those polls are a bit skewed. They were probably on a gaming site which is where you will find the "hardcore" gamers. They aren't the voice of the average gamer who doesn't keep thier ear to the ground and know when the next Halo game is going to be released. I also don't think any poll could accurately get a read on the market. It is easy to say ya every game needs MP until a game comes out with it but they butchered it. Then the story changes. Well it didn't need MP they should have just focused on the SP. |

Yeah. You're probably right. I was just shocked to see that even that many out of the elite super awesome hardcore players cared so much about online gaming. |
