No daylight, I'm too weak to face it!

I have a cool international radio station finder on my phone. Today, my country of choice was Finland. Some pretty cool ambient rock music. Interesting time signatures too. Reminiscent of the way many heavy metal bands vary their time signatures. It was nice... it didn't disturb the groove at all. Think I'll try to find some Japanese music later. They have a few anime stations mixed in the group. 8) |

All from Finland? What I was listening to was not a metal band. I was just making the correlation. 8) I can put you on to some decent Japanese metal bands. The problem is that they are as diverse as what we experience. You can get one band singing about pokemon and another singing about depressionized blackness and doom. If you don't know which you are listening to, you can be in for a surprise. |

Yes. All of that is metal. I do know a few decent Japanese metal bands. Boris and Sigh spring instantly to mind |

I've heard of a good couple of those bands on your list. Didn't know they were all Finns though. |

Omg if ur checking out japanese bands u have to listen to misono. I love her music, and her album 生 -say- is amazing. I've actually listened to her more than most of my metal bands. This is my favorite song by her. Edited by Hevroth, Mar 19 2010, 01:37 AM.

I just don't understand japanese music, not just the lyrics, but the style they all seem to take on. :? |

A lot of Japanese music pulls influence from our popular music from the 80s and 90s. So some of it can seem dated. As far as their classical music goes. Different story. |
