Was Anthem the Ayn Rand book you read? If so, don't judge her based off it because I just read it and it was absolutely awful. Probably didn't help that I read her foreward and knew what she was trying to do, either. The whole thing is just clumsy and exagerrated. It turns her opponents into a charicature in order to argue against them, which is honestly embarassing and hurts her entire project. Anyone can beat a cartoon; try to engage in an actual debate of ideas. It definitely made me lose a lot of respect for her.

Yeah, it's the only one, but I still intend to look into the rest of her work at some point, despite how weak Anthem was. ;) :)

Just skip it and go to Atlas Shrugged. It's by far the best. Fountainhead is okay, but doesn't really give you anything that Atlas Shrugged doesn't. Unless you just really hate trains and love architects.
