"all of some hyperactive anime that was only like 6 episodes long whose name completely escapes me" nate, I think that's FLCL (Fooly Cooly). If it's not, then I highly recommend it. If you did...I'm curious to know what you would rank it. Anyway...if you want some good anime that are also short, I would recommend Elfen Lied and Serial Experiment Lain (though Lain is a bit longer). Both are kind of depressing, though... I would also recommend any of Miyazaki's work...but you probably already know that. Gundam Wing and Escaflowne are kind of old...but both are amazing. Both also have movie sequels, which are amazing as well. There's a Cowboy Bebop movie... and that's all I can think of for now. :p |

I just came to post that! Yup, I remembered it and then went to watch the first episode on YouTube. I didn't rank it since I couldn't even remember the name, much less how much I liked it. So I'm gonna rewatch it. Yeah, the thing about most of that anime is that I watched it on Adult Swim at midnight or 1 AM in high school, so I was drop dead tired through some of it and asleep through most of it. So take my impressions with a handful of salt. I've seen the Bebop movie and the Escaflowne one, both good. I haven't seen the Escaflowne anime, but I did read the first volume of the manga (which was terible). It was one of two ventures into manga in high school (the other being Trigun, also bad). |

Man, Samurai Champloo is in BluRay, but nothing else. How awesome would Bebop in high def be? :( |

Cowboy Bebop is also a favourite of mine, so pretty awesome. I heard there's going to be FLCL Blu-Ray bundle, but I'm not sure when that's coming out. Hopefully it won't cost a lot, because I really want to get it. |

Where dreams come to come true.

Really? I didn't mind the art. It's at least not full of buxom babes with orange hair and a jump suit (if you can call them clothes) to match. 8) |

GLS. I want to trust you so much on this one. Monster alone gains my trust, but Death Note, too. But these covers? I don't think I could take myself seriously buying this. It looks SOOOOO bad. Girls hugging a fox that's blushing with a background of flowers floating (??) in a pink sky? http://www.amazon.com/Honey-Clover-Vol-Chica-Umino/dp/1421523809/ref=pd_bxgy_b_img_c Boys snuggling in the flowers where one has a phallus against his lips? http://www.amazon.com/Honey-Clover-Vol-Chica-Umino/dp/142152368X/ref=pd_bxgy_b_text_b :? We all know that Honey and Clover is about female bestiality and erogenous men who have sex - oral and otherwise - with inanimate objects for their lovers. |

I like that you say, "we all know" in a sarcastic manner like this anime is some sort of common knowledge. Give me a break. And I was talking about the art anyway. I actually came to post about how awesome not simple is on reread, but whatever. |

No daylight, I'm too weak to face it!

Definitely stay away from Bleach. It starts very well, but then starts using the Naruto formula where a single fight can last 2 or 3 episodes. By season 2, you'll see 3-4 episodes of filler for every good episode. Keep in mind that given the fact that you loved Death Note, I may not be qualified to recommend stuff to you. |

I think Belf, maybe Blitz? brought it up a while back and a bunch of people watched it then, the anime art style is very normal I'm not sure what is up with them covers  Sorta like Genshiken but more romance less otaku? |

First, that is the Dragonball formula. Second, what is so bad about filler episodes? |

That's funny. I typed Dragonball first and then changed it to Naruto because it was more recent and I was pretty sure nate was familiar with it. Filler episodes waste my time and my money. |
