*perfect as in there's not a song on the album that you don't like. Not exactly the best or most favorite... so perfect isn't the right word to use but wutevs! Until recently there's never been an album where I could listen to start to finish without touching the skip button, but I think I actually have a couple now! :yay: Built To Spill - Keep it like a secret Ratatat - Classics anyways what are yours? Where dreams come to come true.

I've got a lot I can get through without skipping...but as far as albums that are just "wow, does this album ever lull!?" I can think of... The Beatles Abbey Road and Revolver, Brand New The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Us, Built to Spill Keep It Like a Secret, Further Seems Forever The Moon is Down, mewithoutYou Brother, Sister, Modest Mouse The Moon & Antarctica, Weezer Pinkerton. It's hard for me to quit listening to this records once I start 'em. |

yeaaahhh.... I must be really picky because I always (besides the two i listed) find a couple of songs that I don't like. It was nice to finally listen to an album without having to delete a song off the playlist :D |

The first album that springs to mind when you say "perfect albums" is Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd. Blackwater Park by Opeth. Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk by Emperor. Master of Puppets by Metallica. |

I don't know if I can play within the parameters of the topic. I listen to all of my CDs in full. So I'm going to slightly twist it to albums where every song contributes to the integrety of the album as a whole and were one missing, it'd be a glaring omission. And on that note, I'll actually agree with Dark Side of the Moon. I'm not a fan of most of Pink Floyd and I actually like Wish You Were Here a lot more, but that album definitely is a constructed whole. I'll also toss out "The Wild, The Innocent and the E Street Shuffle" and "Born to Run" by Springsteen. More recently: Weezer's "Blue Album" and from last year, "Backspacer" by Pearl Jam fits for me, too. That album was a trim, killer beast. Only a couple of those are favourite albums of mine and a couple aren't even my favourite by that artist, but they are the best examples I can think of within the parameters. Edit: Abbey Road is another good pick. And we all know how I feel about the Beatles. Edited by nate, Feb 21 2010, 12:03 PM.

"Perfect" is a tall order. There's only a few albums don't contain a single song I dislike. There's a long list of albums that are a track or two shy of that honor, though. My perfect albums (that I can think of) would probably be: Eminem- The Marshal Mathers LP No Doubt- Tragic Kingdom RHCP- Blood Sugar Sex Magik RHCP- Californication ("Porcelain" almost DQs this album) Edited by Weidleface, Feb 21 2010, 03:32 PM.

-I think Ziggy Stardust by David Bowie would fall apart if a single song was removed or the track order were changed at all. It's extremely key to the album. -Ys by Joanna Newsom is amazing all the way through, but it only has 4 tracks so... :P -Both Boxer and Alligator by The National are piled up with amazing track after amazing track -In The Aeroplane Over The Sea is PERFECT from beginning to end, Jesus Christ and all... -Moondance by Van Morrison is pretty tough to argue with Hmmm..... |

When I think about perfect albums there are a select few that come to mind, such as... Silverchair - Neon Ballroom: Some people think this was Silverchair leaving what made them so great in their early grunge rock days, but I think this album was the perfection at the end of that genre. I like that it showed grunge rock having fully left its punk roots and the whole thing felt like it was spit-shined perfect. Third Eye Blind - 3EB: While this album starts off a little weak, with a bunch of popular songs that most people would grow to hate, it only got better as it neared the end. The four song stretch from “I Want You” to “God of Wine” is possibly the most perfect transition ever on a record; like a meticulously well thought out mix tape, I think. Vroom – Things Not To Do + Throws Like A Girl: These are two albums from a punk band that almost nobody has ever heard of before. They were local to where I live in Lynchburg, and I got to see them perform at a few very small shows and such back when I was in high school. These albums are more than a decade old, but they are excellent in that late 90’s Blink 182 kind of way. Things Not To Do is a very fast paced album, but it is still really good. Throws Like A Girl is a masterpiece though, with songs that are incredibly catchy. I can think of a few more, but I don’t have time to write about them right now. REV 16:8 - Grand Tidal Rave haha i have way too many plays from this album. it's actually the only thing REV 16:8 has released but it's so great i have more than 600 plays from this album that has 11 songs :P Mayhem - Ordo Ad Chao probably the actual perfect album. i usually listen to it twice in a row without getting tired of it. misono - 生 -say- i guess this would fall into what most people call their dirty pleasure :XD: it's very addicting and i can listen to her for hours Edited by Hevroth, Mar 20 2010, 01:07 AM.

Everything, everything, EVERYTHING!

All of the The Tragically Hip albums. They haven't done a song I don't enjoy. Red Hot Chili Peppers Stadium Arcadiumalbum would be another one I can listen to all the way through. Foo Fighters Echoes, Silence, Patience, and Grace is the worst album I own. I only like 2 songs off that entire album and I can tolerate one other. It was a big mistake to buy it for sure. |
