No daylight, I'm too weak to face it!

Oh... and by work while you school, I meant subbing. You don't have to be certified to sub and I believe their are programs where you can get tuition assistance. At least up here. My wife was looking into it when she was teaching. |

Subbing won't really work for the program I'm looking at. WM does a year long summer fall spring program and you're ready to go for the following school year. But you've got a ton of classes and in class/student teaching stuff you do. |

Speaking of not liking your job, this is the comment I just now left while signing my PDR (yearly performance review report). It is nice to know that I performed better this year than last, but I don't see how it makes a difference in terms of paid compensation. If I am not mistaken, my pay increase is the exact same as it was last year. On the one hand, we get a letter stuck in the PDR packet saying that last year was the most profitable year ever for ***** ***, yet we then have a message read to us explaining that the reason our pay increases are so low is due to a bad economy, etc… Well, you don't have to be the brightest crayon in the box to figure out the real message here. Anyways, I’ll go ahead and end my comments now with a simple question. How can ***** *** expect to motivate their salaried employees, and what is to be said for increased productivity and the merit system, if there is no change in the reward? * Most of you know where I work, but for the sake of this comment never becoming a Google search result, I've self censored here. While all of the hourly employees got cost of living pay increases of 4% this year, we salaried admins were screwed yet again with only a 1.5% pay increase, the same as last year. What makes it worse is that I had stepped up my job performance last year and scored better on my evaluation, not that it did any good. I had to be careful while writing the above comment since it is going to remain permanently in my employee file; the result is that I tried to show a bit of contempt without totally losing my head. |

Nate, I just heard that one of the schools around here just jet go a bunch of teachers due to budget cutbacks or something and they've been replaced with "volunteer" staff what ever that actually means. |
