Eh, I would say the FX were top notch at the time. They were kinda a throw back to Harryhausen's old movies, and weren't really much better than what he did 20 years earlier in, say, the 7th Yoyage of Sinbad. It was sorta just trying to show that his old stop motion style could still work and make for an entertaining film, with one last movie. It was the pinnacle of a style, but not the pinnacle of everything at the time. The story in his movies are ALWAYS super cheesy and the acting is equally silly but they all remain simply fun to watch, so who cares? :finger: |
