Nathan and I went to the movies today and while watching a preview for "Clash of the Titans" (think God of War or 300) there was a scene "summoning the Kraken." Out of nowhere we hear this guy say "that's what a kraken's supposed to look like." Apparently Kraken's are the new cool thing? The general public didn't even know what one was before Pirate's of the Caribbean, and now we have a random audience-member who is an expert on Kraken physiology??? For real? I'm not mad about it, it just was an absurd occurrence. |

Another absurdity: Last week at the gym I was watching the news, which I haven't watched in a looong time. What was on? A story about a dog trapped in a river in LA. For a good 15 mins. I understand the heart-felt interest in the situation, but do we need to watch constant footage of a dog in a river for that long? Man, if that really is the most important or interesting thing going on at the time in America, we are reallly boring. No wonder I don't watch the news. |

Been pimpin' since pimpin's been pimpin', pimpin'!

Actually, that would be Kraken anatomy. Physiology is the study of the function of the body, not its structure. ;) |

I was going to say morphology, but then I was like "no, that's not right it's physiology." Thanks for the correction, I hate being inaccurate. At any rate, I've really been Mrs. Malaprop lately, which is very disappointing. |

I like the constant misuse of apostraphes to denote ownership, myself. But yeah, dude was straight up RIDICULOUS. A Kraken's just a bigass octopus and this guy's apparently some sort of Clash of the Titans expert. |

Man you people are a bunch a intellectualist, Clash noobs. Read a book once in a while geez the taxonomi of the kracken is well referenced in many ancient and modern tomes of lore. The world doesn't begin and end with the works of Jonny Depp. Giant squid my foot hara haruph harumph. |

Silly gooses, THIS is what a Kraken looks like!: Posted Image Remaking Clash of The Titans makes a lot of sense to me. I still love watching the old Harryhausen movies, but there is no way the majority of the modern audiences could get into them. Plus, they're really not good movies, anyways. :lol2: So, this movie totally gets my blessing...even though it'll probably suck. ;) |

Seeing that trailer made me sad. The original had top notch FX. They are just going to take all the blood, sweat and tears they put into it and cheapen it with a new coat of animation. |

Sure by todays standards it might be with you witchcraft and wireless internets that don't travel in tubes. Back in the day though it was top notch FX. And the story was good enough for the setting. I mean there is only so much you can do with the premise and most of it will come off as over the top and cheesey. I just don't see how throwing in a CG scorpion will improve on it. |
