.... how good the cause or dire the need. When you are pre-empting half the cable programing that people paid for so multi millionaire celebrities can beg for money and sing songs and read poetry, you've gone too damn far. It's not like they'll ever raise the amount from the public that these "humanitarians" can just find as loose change in thier couches. The group I saw could have pooled together a 100mil without even missing it and here they are telling me to give what I can, while they "donate" thier time to mess up my evening viewing. It's stupid cause with thier resources they could be chartering planes and buying supplies to send to Hati or where ever it is this week but no the spend that time and energy putting on a show so they can look good passing the buck. Makes me sick.

I agree. The problem is that some of these celebrities wouldn't send the right stuff, like John Travolta for example.

Travolta: "I know what those poor people really need! E-meters!"

That was the worst written piece of crap I've read in a while.

I know, those Gawker people aren't great journalists. Still, the point of the article is true though, and scientology is f***ing stupid.

And I could argue that a bunch of people asking favors from an invisible friend is just as "f***ing stupid," but that's disrespectful. See what I'm saying?

I'm not sure you do know what I'm saying. I'm talking respect, not beliefs.

I don't respect stupid beliefs. On that note, some beliefs are dumber than others, thus deserving of even less respect than most. I am tolerant of individuals having beliefs in whatever they want, but when they go and proselytize to others, especially in the wake of a tragedy, it makes me very angry. This is why it is best when people keep their beliefs to themselves. For example, I can respect Tom Cruise for being a good actor, but I can't respect his belief in scientology, because it's freaking stupid.

And I don't respect intolerance. For someone who made a big post about how the world would be better if we were just nicer to each other, this reeks of hypocrisy. Where's your criteria for how stupid or intelligent a belief system is? At what point did you suddenly discover the cosmic truths to rate the merits of people's beliefs? It's precisely this sort of intolerance that's wrong with the world be it religious, political what have you and precisely this sort of intolerance that I would expect you'd be above.

Nate you need to take a deep breath, relax and "feel my finger" now doesn't that make everything better.

As for the whole respecting peoples nonsensical belief systems if they didn't want them openly mocked then they wouldn't tell anyone about them. All religions would be better served if people weren't so intent that they be taken seriously.

but This is about rich ass s.o.b's ruining my television viewing asking for money.
