Why Would Sega Do This?

Resonance of Fate.... Dropping the same day as FF13.... WTF?

RoF looks like it has the potential to be as whack as Lost Odyssey. (Or as "good" depending on your perspective)

It just doesn't add up.

The demo was horrible. It had no exploration. It played more like an SRPG than anything else. I never once got to a point where I could do anything else but fight and you were thrust into it as soon as you entered each room.

Wow. That's cool that you guys got a demo, tho. But thanks for your input. Now I know to stay far away from this one. 8)

Same day? I think that might end up costing them...

I know Atlus already pushed back Strange Journey.

Guess I'll have to wait to play RoF...

Look you don't become top dog by bowing and clearing a path, you get in there and at the very least try and trip him with your mangled corpse. Sega hasn't done anything good since the first sonic game and even that is up for debate so they're bound to be pulling these stunts with all their memory of once being ruler of the home market clinging to them like diseased capuchin monkeys spurring them on into every suicidal front they see. But at least they got some guts.

This is the same fatal mistake that Shadow Hearts made. It came out on or around the same date as Final Fantasy X.

Sad too, because I thought SH was a much more enjoyable game and I even got into the story pretty heavily.

That is the second time you've accused me of man love. My wife says I've had it for Arnold SwartzenIdon'tknowhowtospellhisnamegger since I started body building too...

I'm seeing a scary pattern. I need to go do some one-arm pushups or something else manly.

This thread made me remember how bad the English releases of Tales of Legendia and Tales of The Abyss were. TOL came out close to KH2's release, and TOA came out close to FFXII's release. Both games failed to sell even 50K copies.

Well someone has to throw in. I mean look at X-Mas. We just went through the worst X-Mas ever because of MW2 and they sold 4 million copies. If someone had the guts to throw in they might not have sold so many and spread that wealth.

I'm cool with throwin in.. But at LEAST throw in with something that can challenge FF13 from a marketing and or gameplay standpoint.

Throwing in an arbitrary title that many folks either don't know anything about or are already afraid will suck is probably not a good idea. Take the sales of Shadow Hearts at in its day as an example.

If they want to throw in, throw in something like Phantasy Star 5 or another title that has some positive history. 8)
