The swimming in Mario 64 scared the crap out of me. I don't much care for sea creatures in the first place, but that level where I had to grab the star off the eel's tail just about gave me a heart attack. Yes, I realize this sounds really stupid, but I just really didn't like it at all.

Swimming in games does need to go away though, it's never been done well. I think a part of my hatred for water levels comes from my memories of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The water level in this game was impossible for me as a kid; I just couldn't do it. I have still not bothered to go back and see if I can make it through, perhaps this is because the horrible memories are just too painful; these wounds on my gaming soul have just never healed.

TFM, don't go back and play it. The entire game sucks. Not just the swimming.
