Damn good movie. It's a stretch to call it a "sports" movie, but Lou Holtz is in it so I guess that's a automatic pass into the genre. As much as I dislike Sandra Bullock, she was very good in her role (although her character was kind of annoying). Once I heard about this movie, I thought to myself "This guy just got into the NFL. Isn't there some sort of unspoken rule that inspirational 'Look-Where-They-Came-From' stories should be made after the person is out of the limelight?" I still hold true to that thought, but it doesn't take away from the quality of the movie. If it weren't for Inglourious Basterds, this would me my favorite movie of the year so far. Definitely go see this one.

And they point it out a few times too  . One of the funniest parts is when they get a message on their answering machine around Christmas after sending out their Christmas cards, with Mike included in the family picture. "I'm not sure if ya'll noticed, but I'm just gonna go ahead and ask anyway. Did ya'll realize there's a colored fella on your Christmas card?"
