That was cool FS. I usually do not listen to this type of music, but I enjoyed this song. |

That is surprising since it is pretty typical thrash metal |

This kid is sorta dull on this album. Heard a bit of it, his Andre 3000 impersonation is a bit grating, there's not really a lot of meat in what I've heard, and it even felt like Lupe mailed in his verse. Disappointing. That "Nothin' on You" song is a piece of trash, just so we're clear. :? |

I'm really digging the songs I've heard off this Freeway and Jake One collab album. I'd buy it, but paying $10 for an MP3 just seems crazy to me. Occasionally, I'll splurge on something that's $8, but usually I don't spend much more than $5. Maaan, remember back when a CD was cheap on sale for $15? Edited by nate, May 9 2010, 09:26 AM.

New Wolf Parade on June 29th. Pitchfork has a couple tunes up. http://pitchfork.com/news/38417-listen-two-new-wolf-parade-songs/ Nice. At Mount Zoomer was a lot better than I thought it was going to be, so I'm hoping these tracks are indications on the quality of Expo 86. |

I think I need to pick this one up. I've really enjoyed what I've heard, not to mention the critical praise is pretty high up there. I think I will. |

I'm liking this new Murs album a lot. It's not quite 3:16 level, but it's good. 9th and Murs are just a fantastic pairing. I normally don't like 9th really, but he really comes with it for these collabs.

Love this Freeway & Jake One disc. I was waiting to come across a track I just plain didn't like, but it never came. The tempo changes in "Never Gonna Change" really impress me and "Stimulus Outro" closes the album on the highest note possible. Very solid release with packaging so awesome it's actually kind of annoying. Thumbs up. |

No daylight, I'm too weak to face it!

Interesting that you should say that. I've always felt like 9th and LB had some really good tracks, but most of them were just aight. But I wonder if that's his production or their beat picking.... I think I've liked LB more musically after they stopped working exclusively with 9th. But I loved 3:16... But you say it's not on that level.... Kinda puts me on the fence. You need to get Soul Position, dammut! Watch you think it's wack after all my advertising. |

Well, 3:16 was something new. This is probably as good a CD as it, but it's not as exciting as that was the first time I popped it in. First time listening to it I intended to toss it on and go work on some stuff. I ended up lying on the ground in front of the CD player from start to finish just listening. That CD was THAT compelling. I've never before or after had that happen. So, that's a helluva pedigree to live up to. |

While wandering around on iTunes earlier today, I came across this new album from a band called Sleigh Bells. The debut albums is "Treats" and it is an accurate description, as this album is just insanely good. Imagine that M.I.A, The Go! Team, Beastie Boys, Bumblebeez 81, and Funkadelic all got together to make a super band, while all bringing along their own unique sounds; that is Sleigh Bells. Since quickly buying the album this morning, I found out that you can listen to the full album on NPR right now, for free. *And no, your speakers aren't messed up. The treble balance might make it sound like you've just blown a speaker, but you haven't. However, this music is also unapologetically loud, so you might want to check after listening anyways, just to be sure. :XD: Edited by thinkfreemind, May 13 2010, 08:17 PM.

Oh God, that's horrendous. But then again, you did namecheck Bumblebeez 81 (who does that? ), so it was only to be expected. |

That's fine, I realize that this style of music is polarizing. As for B81, I liked most of their album, The Printz. Also, you can't deny that there aren't some similarities, so I figured why not mention them as a part of the metaphorical smorgasbord? :thumb2: |

This new 30 seconds to Mars CD isn't half bad. Which is weird to say. Considering the last was awful. It's the same overdramatic song over and over for an hour, but it's decent enough background music. It's not a good CD by any means, but it's somewhat enjoyable.
