Where dreams come to come true.
Speaking of Pitchfork, was reading through their top 50 list, and was surprised to see Vampire Weekend at #6. That seemed high, so I read on to see why they would put it there.

Apparently, the reason they liked it that much was because the girl on the cover is suing the shit out of the band because of some miscommunication. There's no mention of the album at all, but apparently, it's still important, because in the entire four sentence Kanye eulogy about all this stupid crap he did in 2010, they finished it by "obsess(ing) first and most deeply over the eye of the storm: the album."

Weird, considering you guys clearly aren't.

Two weeks till sign off. When's the 2011 thread going up? ;)

Betty and the Werewolves - Jolly good indie pop from the isle across the pond. It's a four way between three birds and a bloke. All of the songs sound the exact same, but if it isn't loads of fun!

That Ciara video may be one of the dirtiest things I've ever seen on TV. I don't even know how to process that much sexual imagery being thrown at me at once.

I love that BEP cover. I don't like the band, but, if the CD was cheap enough, I'd consider buying it simply because the cover's so good. :D

If anyone is looking for some decent Christmas music, might I recommend these 2 free compilations:

I'm listening to them right now, and they're pretty great. Worth it for 'Material Christmas' alone. :thumb:

I listened to some songs off the new Ryan Adams CD because I'm seeing some very mixed fan reaction. Good God, this stuff SUCKS. How did this come from the same sessions as Easy Tiger?

That's his "metal" album, right? God, Ryan Adams is a joke.

No no, the metal album is already out (and skipped). This is just his new CD. He put it together from the B-sides left from creating one of my favourite albums. And the stuff I heard is horrendous.

Really on the fence about how much pull I want to give this group Soutaiseiriron for Synchroniciteen, mainly because their band name is really annoying. They're a Japanese indie pop outfit with a cutesy Japanese girl singing. I gather their wordplay is out of this world, and they've got some really cool stuff. "(Love Is) The Hundred Year War" has a sharp hook and the way she says "parallel" in "Miss Parallel Universe" absolutely melts my heart, but I'm on the fence about how much this album actually offers.

I'm actually kind of a fan of the production, which gives off the illusion of an amateur idol singer (not unlike what kknd listens to  ), but it's clearly above that in its delivery and instrumentation. They really do a solid job playing to the strengths and weaknesses of their vocalist with it.

Went to go buy my first Eminem CD. Once again, doesn't download. My media library on Amazon, however, claims otherwise. This damned program works maybe half the time for me.

"Fock my last CD. That isht is in the trash."

This CD isn't half bad. It's nothing mindblowing. I'm excited that the annoying Slim Shady crap seems to have finally gone the way of the dinosaur, but, by the same token, what remains isn't that exciting.

Here's a weird admission: I kind of want that new Diddy Dirty Money record. I mean, really, Diddy? How is that dude still relevant? :?

While we're on the subject of Disney in the other topic:

I've got really mixed feelings about the whole Stuntin Like Mufasa project. On a technical level, some of this stuff is ridiculously well done. On a creative level, some of it is really quite clever. But on a personal level? I dunno, it feels kind of dirty hearing someone like Lil Wayne over top of Disney songs. It just kind of sullies them. Especially when you have songs like Snow White Girls.

Been pimpin' since pimpin's been pimpin', pimpin'!
I didn't even know about it, but I just downloaded it and some of it sounds just plain awesome. But why is it that "Ice Cream Paint Job" always appears on mixtapes like this? :?
