Goddammit, Rihanna. Playing to my electropop tendencies in your new song "Only Girl." Yeah, I like it. BUMP BUMP. |

New Kanye song "Runaway," which I believe is not one of these free singles he's been releasing every week, but a legit this might be on the album single, is pretty good. But then again, I love 808s with a lot of my heart. This sounds like a cut from it, with less heartbreak and more kanye (verb). |

Sufjan makes no sense, but I think it's pretty good. I'm not entirely sure if that's fact yet or not. But! New Gregory and the Hawk coming out next month. Got me excited. |

My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is one of the absolute dumbest album titles I've ever heard. Between this and 808s and Heartbreak, I'm convinced Kanye West is a 13 year old first learning to write poetry. At least it has a release date? (Nov 22) |

SHOCKINGLY, Kanye's album cover is banned by his label. SHOCKINGLY, Kanye is spouting off at the mouth about how Nirvana's allowed to have a naked baby, but his monster-on-Kanye sex scene is a no go is some bull. Less surprising- People are oblivious to the fact that this is once again Kanye building hype. I'll pass. 1 brilliant album amongst 4 is still a 25% success rate. I'm gonna rack Kanye's career to date up to a failure and pass from here on out. |

I think I should enjoy this Jimmy Eat World album cause I don't see anything wrong with it. Chase This Light was awful. But this isn't. It's clear it's not. I just find it boring. It's sleep inducing until "Movielike," then I fell back asleep until "Littlething." I was close to turning it off after "Littlething," but decided to stick it out for the last two tracks. The lengths looked promising, but only "Mixtape" was half worth it. "Cut" actually sums up the entire album for me. Half-engaging, overblown in a good way and overblown in a bad way, dragging, parts that make me say, "This is really good." and parts that bore me to death. I've already forgotten this album, and "Mixtape" is still winding down. |

Evidence, Higher Devotion and Littlethings are all decent. Stop is the most boring song they've ever written. The rest is all fantastic. Movielike, Invented and Cut being the cream of the crop. |

2 Kid Cudi songs off his new album, 2 duds. One sounds like a b-side from the first MotM with him just singing in his tuneless voice. The other is a RAWK song with Kanye. I really wish I knew where rappers get their impression of rock music from where their crossovers always play to the lowest denominator of the genre. :? |

I went out drinking and met a guy and we hit it off on music. I expressed my uncertainty on Kid Cudi's new one, and he said, "Oh, don't worry. It's gonna be awesome." Of course, I guess the outlier is that everyone in the world liked the first one and I was merely lukewarm to it. |

I didn't like the first. I thought the production was top notch, but that Kid Cudi was the album's biggest dud- lyrically and musically. Shame his collaborators were so much more talented than him. |

Wasn't aware of this, but my searches for an MP3 of "I Just Threw Out the Love of My Dreams" lead me to discover that a deluxe, 2-disc version of Pinkerton is coming out on November 2nd. If one of ya'll mentioned that already, my bad. |

I mentioned it somewhere. In this thread or the music chatbox thread. But yeah, I was thinking about getting the 4xLP vinyl version, but I think I'll just go with the deluxe cd set. 8) |

New Lupe single "The Show Goes On" isn't too bad. Sounds like it samples "Float On," or at the very least takes it from the hook. About ready for this damn album to drop. |

The River Empires: A grandiose overindulgent double disc concept album with big melodies and arrangements. I'm a sucker for these Dear Hunter type discs. Guess there are some Dear Hunter connections it seems. Makes sense. Kind of feels like a grand childrens' storybook. Guess it's going to be a trilogy. Again...love it.

As it hit me that I never ripped The Radio Dept. Clinging to a Scheme to my computer, it also hit me that, "Wait, this album is really good, isn't it?" Shonuff. It's November, and I'm nowhere near close to an album of the year. Still haven't heard that blow-me-away favorite, but it's been a wonderfully consistent year. In fact, I think I'm going to miss 2010 as a music year. I'm going to hate pushing this year into my catalog and away from the forefront. I listened to Copeland You Are My Sunshine a couple of weeks ago, and it was disappointing that for an album I loved so much for 2008 that I hadn't even listened to it much since then. Thanks, Radio Dept. You're making me retrospective on a year that isn't even over. |
