I kind of want that Brandon Flowers CD. I don't own any Killers albums since I strongly disliked the original (my friend owned it and I got to listen to it most every day driving to and from school). Still, they've recorded a handful of songs I really liked and I'm a big fan of Crossfire- song and video. Also, he's so pretty.
Oh yeah, I was going to pick that up today.

Not sure I'm expecting much, but I do like "Crossfire." Kind of in a tough spot. Deluxe is only a couple bucks more for four more songs, but I prefer the regular cover. I'll make that decision later, haha.

Edit:

Hmm. Thinking hard on this one. I love the cover. I'm thinking I may just have to order the LP just to have the cover as big as I can get. 8)

Hey, Foreign Exchange are back.

New song "Maybe She'll Dream of Me" doesn't break any new ground from Leave It All Behind. Sounds like a cut from it actually. Album dated for October 12th.

I wanted to listen to the new Linkin Park CD on Amazon, but the samples were not up yet. :(

The reviews on there are very mixed, though.

Ordered the LP of Brandon Flowers, went ahead and just downloaded it so I could hear it.

And my. This is impressive. I had no clue Flowers could ride the Sam's Town blueprint to success, but a folky/country twang that lurks around at the base really pushes it to wonderful heights. I really hope we've heard the last of The Killers, because it'd be a shame if he went back to that after this triumph.

Foreign Exchange. Man, I LOVED that original CD when it came out. Then, I couldn't find what made me like it again. Second CD, loved the first song (still do), but overall, mediocre. Third CD isn't even on my list of things to buy, especially if that single is anything to judge by.

I'm really digging this Brandon Flowers CD. I'm glad I gave it a shot.

Talked to my mom today. She's digging the Brandon Flowers cd.

Huh? When'd she get that? :?

Says she especially likes the Valentino song.

Tell your mother her opinion is wrong because Only the Young and Jilted Lovers & Broken Hearts are the best two songs. :D

More on Hurley.

I like it. Quite a bit. At least the first four songs. "Ruling Me" is the song right there.

"Where's My Sex?" starts a downfall, but I like it more now that I found out it was originally about socks. I like most of the individual tracks, but it's not flowing too well from 5-10.

This new LP LP is pretty lousy (PL?). It's streaming here:

http://www.myspace.com/linkinpark/music/albums/a-thousand-suns-16586225

It starts off decent enough. Nothing particularly fantastic, but not awful either. But then we hit the one, two punch of Waiting for the End/ Blackout and it kills the little bit of inoffensive enjoyment I had previously gleaned. It pretty much face dives and does nothing to recover.

And I'll give props where props are due: Chester Bennington is hardly the weak link this time around. It's most definitely Mr. Shinoda. What is with the white boy island flavor both of them try to summon at random points, though?

I like that one review I read accused post-Meteora LP haters of not having matured with the band. Or maybe it just has something to do with their scattershot approach to quality?

I am currently listening to the Jenny and Johnny album right now. It is no surprise that I enjoy the songs that feature Jenny Lewis more prominently, but so far I am enjoying nearly every song.

I REALLY want that Roots/ John Legend CD. But $10? That's just so high. :(

The new Deerhunter album looks like it might be the one that finally separates itself from the pack for me, because nothing else I've heard this year has seemed like an album of the year contender:

I was just thinking earlier today that I've heard a lot of good albums this year, but none that really truly standout as the best of its year. Wonder if it's worth giving Deerhunter a chance for it. Never really cared for much I've heard by them. But I guess the same was true for Animal Collective before MPP.

What a horrid cover though. :?

I'm really enjoying this Brandon Flowers disc a lot. It's not the best thing ever recorded, but it has that perfect mix of exciting and boring that keeps it worth playing over and over without it getting old. Something like Drake was super exciting when I first heard it, but it burnt out ridiculously fast. And this has enough personality to keep it interesting to listen to, but not so much that I get tired of it.
