I think my PS3's drive died

and I don't even play that much with... :(

well the blue light is up when I pop a disc in but the game or movie icon never appear, any clue?

I formatted the hard drive and resetted the configuration and it didn't help.

maybe one of those drive cleaners would help. sounds like it's going to have to be sent in though.

That sucks. Make sure you backup all your saves, etc to a memory card/external HDD before sending it in if you have to.

I'm sorry dude, that stinks. They just don't make consoles like they used to anymore, those ancient consoles never died.

That bites. Why is it as soon as I break down and buy a new console all of a sudden I start hearing bad things about it? YLODs and now drive failures. I am scared!!! I think I am gonna go with the extended warranty :(

I have a slim. It gets pretty warm. It doesn't seem to have a big fan just like the PS2 fans didn't. The wife was pretty insistent I get it. I just hate to spend 50 bucks on something I may not need. Although she read this so it probably won't help my cause (that I could use that loot for a game) :(
