You're playing an RPG. Everything's going great. Then, out of nowhere, they decide you need to do a stealth section. You're playing a platformer. Then, out of nowhere, they decide you need to do a stealth section. You're playing a strategy game. Then, out of nowhere, you guessed it. :PH43R: Latest offender: Valkyria Chronicles. I suppose it was due to have at least one flaw at some point. :( I will never understand why every game under the sun feels the need to have a tacked on stealth mission, though. They're never well done. They never benefit the game. Has anyone ever finished one and thought, "Man, I sure am glad that was in here!"? :headscratch: |

Of course it works in stealth games. I was referring to games where it's just thrown in for the sake of being there. |

How does a stealth mission work in strategy game like Valkyria? |

Any death= game over, so dodge spotlights that call in instant death missile strikes to that location (God have mercy on you if you run out of movement in a path you didn't realize the spotlight took) and try to avoid being seen by shocktroopers who will dominate your guys and dodge everything you throw back at them (even at point blank). |

Where dreams come to come true.

You have to save constantly in that mission. Like every turn. Just save and load and go at it. Those two guys that are chilling and doing their thing...oh man, that part sucks a lot. |

It's a turn-based, real time SRPG 3rd person, 1st person shooter. No, really. It's one of those games you need to see to understand. It's hard to put into words how it plays, but not because it's an overly complicated system or anything. Once you start it, it makes perfect sense and flows well, but previews and reviews don't really explain it well. Basically take an SRPG and combine it with a tactical shooter and that's pretty close. Sounds like Fallout 3 without the "go anywhere" feature. |

How so? 1st Person Shooter - Fallout 3 gots it 3rd Person Shooter - Fallout 3 gots it Turnbased + Real Time Strategy - VATS mirrors it And it's Japanese made I assume, so I can further deduce that "go anywhere" aint never gone happen. Where am I lost at brotha? :king: |

Everything, everything, EVERYTHING!

Watch some footage, just because it's got a few features that a crap load of other games have doesn't make it like fallout. It's like Final Fantasy Tactics where everyone resembles the archer class and you press a button to shoot. :? |
