When you play DAO, be careful to do every quest you can. The Traveler Achievement is very buggy and I've seen countless stories of people exploring the world to over 90% and still missing it. Myself included. I know what caused it for me, though. There is a quest in Denerim that you can get more than one way. If you get it as a random encounter instead of as a Chantry Board quest, you will be screwed out of the achievement. Lesson learned... hit the chantry board as SOON as you get to Denerim, accept the Back Alley Justice quest and go do it before anything else. I know of no other quests that cause this problem, so you should be good to go as long as you try to do everything. Which I'm learning on this playthru actually doesn't take too long if you are smart about how you rock. |

Ya http://dragonage.bioware.com/addon/ Get to return to the place of the most epic battle ever and score some sweet gear. That is why I haven't gotten anymore achievements in it in forever. They announced it a couple weeks ago. I mentioned it in the shoutbox. They made an announcement on facebook to announce they were making an announcement the next day. As far as I know it will be between 400 to 560 points. About an hour long quest (according to one of the devs on the forum). And should be released on X-Mas day (which has not been confirmed officially). |

Well after rechecking the forums it seems the price is no longer 5 bucks (or 400 points I guess) but they dropped it due to people complaining 5 bucks for 1 hour is not cool. And it might not be out by X-Mas afterall. And the reason is because they included achievements. Any PS3 owners are definitely waiting until after New Years.   Edited by squid5580, Dec 11 2009, 08:01 PM.

Wait. What do achievements have to do with the launch date or the price? |

Price nothing. The price drop was due to them announcing on thier forums that the quest could be done in as little as 20 minutes if you skip the cutscenes and ignore the scenery and get'er done. They said about an hour for an average playthrough and people posted back that they thought it was too high. Bioware listened  and said OK we'll lower it. Release date everything. They decided at the spur of the moment to include a achievement/trophy (that is how they worded it). SO they gotta update it, patch it send it through which has slowed down the DLC certification process and since PS3 is the slowest apparently they will be waiting til next year. That and they found a "critical issue" they gotta fix. This is one of the quotes from it (there is more but I am not searching through 70 pages of potential spoilers even though the title of the board specifically says no spoilers) Hi everyone. Sorry for not popping in and providing another update sooner. Based on some of the feedback in this thread, we made the decision to revisit Return to Ostagar and make some small improvements, including the addition of a new Ostagar-specific achievement/trophy and a reduction in the price. This has required a patch/title update and some additional testing and certification. This has pushed our dates back and I can confirm that the PS3 version will not arrive until the New Year. For PC and X360, we're still working hard to get it out in time for Christmas but we're not out of the woods quite yet. We'll put out another press release once we're 100% confident of the dates. Thanks for your patience and I hope you enjoy the adventure once it's finally available. For Ferelden! Rob Bartel Edited by squid5580, Dec 12 2009, 02:12 AM.

Word up. I wish it didn't have an achievement. then I wouldn't be inclined to play it. But I'm obsessive compulsive with completing things. That's why achievements are so much fun to me. |
