Based on a conversation in the chatbox, I was wondering just how much music each of us had..?

I have 5596 songs in my iTunes library right now. Most of which I'll never listen to again, but I see no point in getting rid of any of it since I may want to hear a particular song later. I own two iPods to put my music on also, a 3rd Gen iPod 40Gb and a 1Gb iPod shuffle.

p.s. Over 400 of those songs are from the Dave Matthews Band.

Been pimpin' since pimpin's been pimpin', pimpin'!
Not sure on the numbers, but I recently hit 15 GB on my laptop. I've got a couple more albums that I haven't added yet, so that'll increase the total just a bit.

Only a little over 8 Gigs plus about 10 vinyl records. It's not a lot, but is increasing exponentially, these days.

Where dreams come to come true.
I have well over 26,000 songs in my iTunes library across about 2000 artists. But I don't have that number to show off, but to simply enjoy my love for music.

I was waiting for your answer, I figured you had a lot. I thought TFM had like 15,000 at one point though... :?

My Zune currently has everything I own on it, save 4 albums and a collection of Pink Floyd bootlegs. All total, that is 3572 songs on my zune from 340 discs and 142 artists

Nope. I did have more a couple years ago, but when I got my new computer I wasn't able to transfer all of my music over because my iPod's battery would die before a complete transfer. Knowing what I know now, I could have moved them all, and I still have the old computer outside in the storage building behind my house, so if I decided to dust it off and hook it up again I could grab the rest I suppose. I had managed to transfer all of the music I cared about, so it's no big deal that some Crazy Town or Monica crap was left on my old PC, because I'd never listen to it again anyways.

Then again... It does sound like a neat project to try this holiday weekend.

We need to figure out how to send some packets of music to each other without being sued by the RIAA. :lol2:

Music is one of those things where I'd take dang near anything. Heck, it can always be deleted if it sucks.

Any of you have a zune? Evidently it has friends lists you can access if you have wifi. It also seems to let you share songs with your friends, which seems cool.
