Where dreams come to come true.
I thought I'd throw up a baseball topic, since off the top of my head, all of our teams are in first place or right on the doorstep.

I know my Dodgers are a major league best 25-12, blitz's Mets are on top of a competitive division, fs's Rangers are fending off the surging Angels on top of the West, and I tried telling Waddle that the Reds were going to be a really good team but he didn't want any part of that, but sure enough, half game out of first place in the middle of May.

Don't know anyone else's teams (if they have a major league favorite), but I figured since we're all cheering for winners, we should talk about our winners. :yay:

But like I said, my Dodgers are getting back on track after that whole Manny Ramirez debacle, winners of three straight on the road against the Phillies and Marlins and on top of the division by five games already. I think they're going to be playing the Mets here shortly. I'm looking forward to seeing how that series goes.

And in the immortal words of Brad Penny:

My Rangers won tonight for their 5th straight win. They are 7 games over 500 for the first time since 2005. It's been a while. Texas made it interesting in the 9th though. Holland was gassed. I don't know why he was left out there for so long. This leaves him unavaliable for the rest of this series. Oh well. a W is a W.

Anyone else been keeping up, what do you think of Elvis Andrus?

At first I questioned moving Young from short stop to third base because come on. The guy won a gold glove at short last year. You don't move players after they win a gold glove. You just don't do it. Now that I have seen Elvis Andrus play, it wasn't a mistake. The kids defense is superb, and he has more range than Young did

Anyone see Hamilton's home run tongiht? He frickin CRUSHED the ball. 460 feet. He hit it 460 fricking feet. Damn. Just...damn. He got ALL of it.

I am really enjoying watching this years team. Even when they lose, Texas is a fun ball club to watch. Brining in Mike Maddox was a brilliant move. the starting pitching is much MUCH better this year, and it is only going to get better with Holland and Feliz

I have a feeling if both the Dodgers and Mets make the playoffs and face each other, we aren't going to beat them this time. Who knows. We're starting out a rough year, but things might be falling into place as we speak. There are a lot of things up in the air for us right now. Starting pitching we are working on fixing... Putz is out so we need another stopper, our first baseman is on the DL, and Reyes is getting criticized for his base running (least of my worries. That guy can get so over anxious and over excited sometimes he just hurts himself while at the plate and running the bases).

And despite what everyone thinks of Beltran this year, and even though I call him a beast left and right, I am very dissappointed with him. I've watched him hold his bat on his shoulder with strikes going by, not play CF like I know he can (I've seen him fugging jog and let balls drop) and he is getting praised for hitting .380 with 5 homeruns? and probably a good amount of RBIs. I don't think he is playing to his ability. Oh well. Maybe I am just imagining things.

It's going to be a good season though. The Dodgers will be fine without Manny. They have in the past, they can do it now. I don't think Torre and his team will be bothered by the media surrounding Manny.

Eh... baseball. I'll watch a Reds game if I don't have much better to do, but that's about it. If I HAPPEN to get free tickets to a game, you can bet your ass I'm going, because that's when baseball is actually fun to watch. But I never put much stock into the Reds. I feel a little stronger about them than I do the Cavs, but not much. Yay summer. :salut:

Well, my guys swept the Mets at home, to improve to 17-3 at Dodger Stadium. Phew.

The games were all close, but the Dodgers played good, smart baseball to get the wins. Good job, guys! Keep it up!!

After getting swept by the Tigers (Why can't we win in Detroit? Seriously.), we begin the Lone Star series with 2 wins. Derek Holland got his first start, and he pitched 5 and 2/3s. HE got a no decision, but he looked great. He really only made one bad pitch. Unfortunately, he made that bad pitch to Lance Berkman. 3 run jack. HE did leave the game with the lead. Frank Fransisco came back in that game firing heat. HE dialed it up to 97 and is now 10 for 10 in save opportunities. It has been a long time since he gave up a run at all. Nelson Cruz got the game winning home run in the top of the 10th

Today Cruz hit 2 more home runs for for 4 RBIs, and Blalock added a solo shot. Feldman threw a good 6 and 2/3s to get the win. He gave up 3 runs and improves to 3 and 0. Michael Young missed the game with a sprained ankle. x rays came back negative, and he is not expected to go on the DL. Want him back ASAP. HE is one of hte best hitters in all of baseball

Dodgers helped out the Rangers by beating the Angels last night on a walk off walk that walked the Dodgers to a W. First to 30!

What's this? The Padres have won eight straight?

Big test coming up today. Rangers play the Yankees in Texas. I think we can beat them. Their pitching isn't what it used to be

All close games, but you guys did great not allowing us to score in those situations. That series we just sucked. Pelf was balking, we weren't sliding into bases, and you guys took advantage of that.

We just swept the Nats, no big accomplishment, but 3 more wins in the books. Neck and neck with the Phillies. I think to finish in first place though, we'll need a 9+ game lead going into the last month or so of the season.

Dodgers take 2 out of 3 against the Rangers to win the series. I was worried about the Rangers' offense in this series, but since the 6-0 opener, Dodgers held it to 4 runs in two games while putting up 9.

In other news, Andruw Jones is a prick.
