Isn't that just about every adventure game ever made?

Kind of... But it's WAY stripped down. At least in Zelda, you have monsters to fight. Here, I've fought maybe 2 monsters in the 20 minutes of playtime I have logged. (And 20mins of playtime is roughly 50% of the game)

I was referring to more the old school point and click style, not the modern action-adventure connotation. ;)

Ghost Trick is entirely poking at shit to complete puzzles and its the best game I've played this year. :D

Gotcha.... Yeah. It's definitely more "point & click adventure" style. Maybe it picks up when you get past where I'm at.

I finally got around to playing No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle tonight. I only got to play for a couple of hours so far, but it is a lot of fun. The 2nd boss fight was crazy tough, but I managed to defeat him before dying. The stage leading up to him was fun too, with special new Dark Attack abilities to mix up the gameplay and make quick work of the goons. The 8-bit mini-games are cool too.

I've decided to take the time between now and starting classes off from work for personal reasons, so I'm gonna have some time to get some gaming in. Unfortunately, that started this week and I just haven't cared enough about PW3, Pokemon or Grandia to bother, so I've been twiddling my thumbs. So I decided to get a Blockbuster game membership to blitz through some games I want to play but would rather not buy.

First up: Spider-man Shattered Dimensions. Not in love with this one. It's kind of clunky and I can already tell Noir is going to be a straight up Arkham Asylum rip off (even moreso than the rest of the game). We'll see how things go.

Yup, this game sucks. A lot. So glad I didn't buy it. I've now played through Act 1. Each level is chase a boss through a linear level while he throws goons and obstacles in your way. For 45 minutes. And you get to fight him like 10 times. Controls suck, camera sucks, bugs are everywhere, graphics are yawn, music is so background I can't even confirm it has music, story is lame. Definitely pass unless you're a diehard Spider-man fan. I'm not sure if I'm gonna bother to finish it. And the Noir section is one of the most unabashed ripoffs of another game I've ever played. It's actually embarassing.

Seriously, how did this game get anything resembling good reviews? It's TERRIBLE. Are people just so lenient towards licensed games that this game gets a pass for... I dunno, voice acting? There is nothing else redeeming about this game besides the fact it has Spider-man in it (who, by the way, is annoying as hell).

I couldn't even finish. Took it in and swapped it out for Force Unleashed. We'll see how that one goes.

I really don't know how it got the decent reviews it did, though. There was nothing besides, really, the 4 Spider-man voice actors that was well done. Out of the 9 levels I did play through the only one that was any fun at all was the Deadpool level. And even that was really only okay with some cools spots, rather than well done.

Welp. I suppose there's a good reason I never bothered to buy these games cause SW:FU sucks hardcore, too. It's a mess. God knows who programmed these games. This one, at least, has a really cool story. I don't know if it's worth putting up with this mess of a game for, though. :?

Since I enjoyed the yarn from SW:FU so much, I decided to keep going with SW:FU2. It's a much better game than its predecessor. This is actually a fairly decently done action game. It's not gonna be award winning, but it at least does service to the universe it's portraying.

Playing Resistance 1, enjoying it much more this time, still... it's getting a bit repetitive and boring after 10-15 levels, nevertheless, the weapons are really cool and you can't have a good FPS without awesome weapons. I like that gun that can shoot through walls and obstacles, and that gun that can shoot mini turrets? awesome! Currently at about halfway through the game.

I just used the main guns practically the whole game. I only switched it up when I was out of ammo.

me too, but my main gun is running out of ammo a bit too often for the past 3-4 levels, maybe I went too trigger-happy :P

Damn. This game is super short. I've just been playing around with it this evening and I'm already on mission 7 out of 9. The plot's barely gotten rolling. I think we're going to be ending on what really should be the middle point of a bigger arc. I can't believe I'm gonna say this, but, if these games are going to be this short, I hope it ends on a cliffhanger the next game can run with. "You may have stopped X, but we're really running gameplan Y that's deeper than you realized" and such. :D

Still, I don't know what was up the reviewers' asses for this game cause it's really quite good. There's been some minor camera and glitch wonkiness, but nothing major. And everything else has been streamlined and tightened up. The gameplay definitely got its act together this time around. I'm not even done with this one and I can't wait for a third. :D
