Portal 2 has still not arrived, but Mortal Kombat 9 did, so I played that instead yesterday. MK9 is a lot of fun so far, except for the fact that I suck due to the fact that I haven't played a MK game in forever. I have done more than 50 of the 300 challenges already, some very easy, others nearly impossible. As far as the gameplay is concerned, this is MK as it should be. It feels just like the best of the series 2D roots, which they should have never left in an attempt to be all modern. The graphics are ok, but nothing to write home about. The violence is over the top and the fatalities are just obscene, in a good way of course. I'll probably be playing this for quite a while, mixing it in between sessions of other games. As everyone knows, the Dpad on the regular 360 controller is crap, so I tried to use my Hori stick to play the game first. Due to inconvenient button placement, that didn't work well for this game though. So now I am on the hunt for a better xbox controller. I think I've found one, the MvC3 PDP LE controller, but it's $60 and hard to find. Edited by thinkfreemind, Apr 28 2011, 01:28 AM.

I'm really enjoying de Blob 2. It's much, much better than the first. It's got so many little upgrades, tweaks and additions; it's quite impressive. Hats off to a developer who ups the ante this much with a sequel. I'm 5 stages through so far, getting straight Cs like my name was Charlie Brown. :D |

Borrowed Prof. Layton from a buddy, and I'm enjoying it so far. Some of these puzzles make me want to beat someone though. Mainly because they're so damn simple and I can't think of the fcking answers. :damnyou!: |

You know, for all the upgrades that de Blob 2 has, they didn't fix my central problem with the game: It's kind of boring after a while. I feel 0 motivation to keep going. :? |

I was playing frogger just because it came with konami classics vol 1... god for a game this simple, the control really sucks!!! :/ how can they mess up something so simple?! same thing with super C, what the heck with the super slow jump? the arcade version's graphic sucks sooo bad, I kind of wish I got the NES version instead. Also playing Front Mission DS, that a port of the first Front Mission that came out on SNES, the battles are dreadfully slow, I think I felt asleep twice just on the first battle, I'll probably never finish this game. FM3's battle system is much more polished than this piece of shit. oh and Y's IV's music kick ass! |

Yup, old games suck. People are tripping when they talk about how new games can never measure up. |

Not old rpgs I prefer pre sixth gen rpgs and their charm; I miss the simple graphics, written dialogue and turned based combat... Playing older rpgs makes me happier than playing new ones but anyway... I'm playing: Bioshock 2 Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies |

@ Nate. You are not missing nada man. It's got tons of charm, a very interesting presentation and graphics... But when you take all that away, the actual game is nothing more than moving your character across the screen and tapping stuff occasionally. I'm still trying to muster the motivation to finish it. |

I'm playing Crysis 2 - I should have gone with my gut feeling and avoided this game. I thought it would be more open than it actually is. There is a bit of freedom to approach situations and the nanosuit was a really cool addition, but there is very little that stands out as insanely awesome. The story is kinda chonky (a word I just made up to say "I have no idea what the hell is happening in the story). Overall, it's not bad... I just wish it was better. And I wish I would have paid better attention to the box so that I would have realized it does not have online co-op.. :( The multiplayer is your typical sugar-rush-run-around-the-map-and-never-stop type of ordeal. -------- On the other hand, I think I'm going to cop Inotia 3 for the iPhone. that jammy is alotta fun and the music is fantastic. |
