VICTORY! Returned BKO and bought Kirby's Epic Yarn with that plus the leftover money from my last round of trade-ins. It's absolutely delightful so far. Playing through with Sarah. :yay:

Kirby's Epic Yarn is happiness in video game form. I'm in love with this game. It's fun, cheerful, clever, quirky, and absolutely gorgeous. I've 100%ed through World 2 (all items found and gold medals) and I'm fully intending to 100% the game at this point. It's just so incredibly delightful. Love it to death. :D

Where dreams come to come true.
Watching golf got me inspired...

to play a golf video game.

Between Hot Shots Open Tee & Mario Golf Advance Tour.

I discovered I couldn't find my GBASP charger, so I had to wing it on the DS for a while, decided I'd rather play Open Tee. So now I am. But apparently I erased my save file, so now I gotta start all over. :sigh: My favorite character I'll have to get back.......

But yeah, it's fun.

Yakuza 2 is more fun than I thought, would definitely check out the first one. The story is great also. :)

I want to play Kirby's Epic Yarn too. Give us a review when you're finished Nate.

I am currently playing De Blob 2. This game is so much fun. All of the annoyances of the first game have been fixed, so this is a nearly perfect game, so far. No more flicking the controller to jump, now you just press A. No longer running out of time to explore even after all challenges have been completed, now you have infinite time to play around. No more searching the map to find that one tree that didn't get painted, now there's a compass to point you in the right direction.

I am loving this game.

Yeah, I plan to get this one. It was one of the ones I was trying to buy with eBay money, but couldn't get for a competitive price. When Amazon is $25 new for the Wii, I'm not paying $30-35 for a used copy. What system are you playing on?

What system are you playing on?
The Wii, because it was the system the first game was released for.

And people say that the Wii is inherently inferior because if a game was released on all 3 systems and you had your choice, you'd never pick the Wii. Same exact system I was planning on getting it for. :D

The sad thing is that I heard this game tanked hard. As in under 100,000 units over all the platforms tanked.

I wouldn't be concerned about the low sales. The first game sold really well on the Wii. Wii games sell for a very long time, unlike many of the here today, bargain bin tomorrow games released on other systems. De Blob 2 was released less than a couple months ago though, so give it time and it should sell well also.

Funny you should mention bargain bin for a discount title that's already selling for $25 after a month and a half.

Well of course it is. That is what happens when a game is released on systems other than the Wii. My logic still stands. :lol2:

I know THQ promoted the heck out of this game, but I really think they should have kept it a Wii exclusive. Oh well.

2 annoyances with KEY:

1. WAY too many minigames. There are 75 minigames to 50 levels.
2. Having to repeat things 10,000x to get it right. So if you've got a scrolling level and can't seem to get that last treasure at the end, be prepared to play it a gajillion times. There are some pretty obnoxious parts in here, too. Granted it's only like 5% of the game is annoying versus 95% fun, but you'll have to redo that annoying part over and over and over.

All that really circles around: The difficulty. It's too easy to play straight through. There's no death, so there's really no point besides seeing cool yarn designs. So you try to get the gold medals and collect the treasures. Well, now you have to do those obnoxious parts. Trying to find a balance of challenging yourself, but not getting annoyed with all the minigames or annoying bits is kind of frustrating.

These challenges (minigames isn't the best description) just aren't any fun. And there are just so goddamned many of them. I don't know why they felt the need to do that. Especially since they unlock by character. So you get an end game heavy deluge of them. :?

This. I've 100%ed the first 5 worlds out of 7, did all the challenges and I'm just not having any fun any more. It's either play through straight which is kind of boring and pointless or try to do all the stuff which is frustrating and not fun at this point. I don't want to replay a 10 minute level 5 times because there's a tricky jump at the end I need to pull off from a moving train to get the last treasure. I'm just burned out on it after 12 hours and don't really even want to bother continuing, which is a huge shame cause it's absurdly delightful and charming. Environments are well designed, graphics and art style is great, everything is on point but the balance. I don't know what to do with a game I simultaneously love so much and am having so little fun with anymore. I don't even know whether or not to recommend it. It's so good in so many departments. It was great at the beginning, but it's steadily just gotten cheaper and cheaper for these extra challenges.

Power went out due to the storm, so I started up Ghost Trick. This game is kind of completely kickass. Supercool graphics, interesting story, clever puzzles. :thumb:
