Now that I have beaten Fallout: New Vegas, I am playing Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. The beginning on the train is so freaking intense
It's a great game. :thumb:
I like the first better, I think, though 2 is the better game. It doesn't really shine until Crushing mode, though. That's when it gets REALLY good. ;)

Nevermind- playing on Titan was a dumbass idea. These boss battles go on for WAAAAAAAAAAY too freaking long so its less whether you can do it and more just wasting your time until you slip up and then game over, replay the whole thing. Problem is, you can't switch to normal mid-game. Your choices are Titan or Easy. BRILLIANT. So my choices are: quit now, restart and replay 3 hours, or switch to easy. All of those choices SUCK. I absolutely do not want to replay (because, as with all GoW games, everything after the opening sequence is pretty ho-hum and frankly this is the third time in three games we've been to Hades), quitting would be a waste of money, and without any sort of challenge on easy, beating the game holds no appeal because, frankly, I couldn't give less of a damn what happens to Kratos.

Edit: Just looked at YouTube to see how long this fight goes and I was right- it is an eternity. It's 10 minutes long. That may not seem like long normally, but for a battle? That's long for an RPG boss, much less an action game boss. Especially when he attacks about 5 times every 10 seconds and it only takes about 10 hits tops before you're dead. And oftentimes getting clipped by one hit leaves you open to get hit by the next.

Of course it is. Naughty Dog created it. They can do no wrong.

I cannot get over how GORGEOUS this is. I have heard people say Final Fantasy XIII is better looking. No. Screw that. The environmental interaction in this game makes it FAR outclass FFXIII

I've been playing Gradius Collection on the PSP. I've been playing this game for a few days (Gradius I) and I've gotten better, but still have not beaten the game. Those damn moai statues in level three keep ruining what would otherwise be a perfect run up to that point. Once today, I managed to get through that entire section still fully powered up and on my first ship, which was a milestone accomplishment.

With more practice I'm sure to complete the game by this weekend, and then it's on to Gradius II.

I have also been playing DJ Max Portable 3. I am still doing the 4T mode, now using the normal difficulty. I can tell that I am improving, because some songs that I struggled just to survive a couple days ago are now being max combo'd. Still, there is a lot of room for improvement, with both higher button tracks and increased difficulty levels. Not to mention that I own all of these games now, so there is plenty left to play.

There's one thing I hate about Gradius, you are a freaking god once you have all the power ups, but the game becomes impossible the second you die. So once you die, you might as well restart the game, I think there's a way to restart a level when you die though? (in gradius collection) like as if you never died and puts you back at the beginning of that level? that's how I beat Gradius I iirc

You should move on to 6T mode once you get to higher levels on 4T (like level 6-7?), it's a lot more fun. :thumb:

That is exactly what I do if I die before level three.

I have tried 6T, but I got all confused because of the colors. I keep forgetting that there are now two white columns between the blue columns. I will probably try to make this switch really soon.

I'm enjoying God of War III more now, even if it does have its piss off moments. It's got a bizarre difficulty on Titan that jumps erratically. Random sections will take me 5-10 tries, but I'll beat a silver trophy boss on my first try with no real risk of death. Plus, the combat system isn't nearly as smooth as a young, inexperienced nate once thought back during the original. I think Bayonetta may have ruined all other action titles for me in that regard. Level design could use some inspiration, but the scale is as mindblowingly huge as always. Still don't care about the story (bet you he's going to kill Zeus and then off himself), and there've been a number of times where I said, "Ewww, that's nasty." Overall, it's a fun way to kill time and check out some crazy ish, but hardly a defining game.

I am still playing Gradius on the PSP. I can make it up to the very final level without losing a life the majority of the time. I am fully powered up with all the options, shield and spread shot, but it is not enough. Once I die the first time, all of the other lives are meaningless, except to improve my score a bit. Like pissing in a volcano to put out the fire, I stand no chance of reaching the end of the game at that point.

the last boss is incredibly easy, if you can make it to the second part of the last level, you should be able to finish it.

"By. the. Gods."

And... confirmed this game was made for 13 year old boys. Walk into a room. Lesbian threesome. Aphrodite says, "Get out out of here girls, a real man is coming." And then there's a sex game where we watch the two girls watching as they get more and more excited by what Kratos is doing and comment. At the end, Kratos drives all the women into such ecstasy that the two he hasn't even touched start having lesbian sex with each other.

How do you top that? Absolute most ridiculous thing I've ever seen in a game.

This game is about 20% frustrating and 80% decent fun. The problem is: The fun is only pretty good, but the frustration is want to quit gaming entirely level. It's just absurd how ridiculously freaking difficult some of these parts are. I don't want to lower my difficulty either because I've put up with this bullshit for 11 hours up til now, I don't want to lose credit for it in the last hour or two. You'd think since I hated GoW2 I'd know better, but you'd be underestimating just how AWFUL I am at buying games I am.

Beat Uncharted 2. The game was incredible from start to finish. It is one that I am sure to play again in the future. I did with the first Uncharted, and playing 2 made me want to play 1 again. I started Killzone 2, though. I've got to get through my stack of unbeaten games, or I never will :P
