It is crap like that which is why I prefer turn-based battle systems, where I can control the entire party.

Okay, one move made all the difference. If anyone plays this: Absolute first move you should buy before anything else should be Stun upgrade for combat. When you're able to stun multiple enemies battles go from insanely difficult to very manageable. It 100% turned around the combat portion of this game.

Pokemon SS is like pulling teeth. This game is so freaking monotonous to get through. I absolutely never want to touch another game in this series. How many times am I going to be playing this EXACT game?

Rome: Total War? More like Rome: Total Bore, amirite? That game is even more monotonous, but without the whimsical charm.

Pleasant surprise: Suikoden is excellent so far. I'm fleeing the imperial city and I'm a big fan of the game (which is doubly surprising since I only liked 1 of the 3 Suikoden games I played).

At the risk of sounding...full of myself or something, it seems a bit late in the game to realize all Pokémon games are the exact same?

And furthemore, is Suikoden on the PSN?

It's not bad when it's every decade or so like I originally went between entries. When I played a remake of the original, a remake of the second, the third, the expanded third and the fourth all within like 3 years? It grows VERY tiresome.

And yes, Suikoden is on PSN. I picked it up half off a month or two ago.

I'm steamrolling through professor layton 3 :P, I find that most puzzle are easy, some are so easy that I got the wrong answer thinking that there's a catch. As nate mentioned, the parrot mini games are ridiculous, I don't know if I'll even bother with it. At this point, I think I'm like 10-20 minutes from the end of the game. Recommanded if you like puzzle games :)

Suikoden is a great game. It's games like this that got me into gaming in the first place back when. Quick dungeons, fantastic story and cutscenes that explain everything fully and don't drag on forever talking in circles, quick battles that take 1-2 turns. And, unlike most PSOne RPGs that're a slow burn, this one was cooking from like a half hour in.

if you manage to find a copy of Suikoden II from a store or a friend, or if Konami decides to release it on PSN, you should give it a try, it's like Suikoden 1 with slightly better graphics and better story. :thumb:

Ugh, how many times is Vesperia going to "end?" I swear I've been fighting the final boss for twenty hours. This is getting more ridiculous than Symphonia's never ending stream of final bosses. Valkyria Chronicles was bad at this too, and if I remember correctly, Legendia did too, right?

Ready to be finished with this game.

"Yeah, you beat me, but I don't feel like giving you the 8th badge. Go do this arbitrary dungeon first."

How the hell does this <mumble> not get her goddamned gym leadership revoked for that? :x

Yup, 8th gym leader does that. She told me even though I beat her, I still wasn't ready for the Elite 4, so I needed to go train in the Dragon Den in town before she'd give me a badge.
