No daylight, I'm too weak to face it!
|
Playing Costume Quest as we speak. So glad I didn't judge it based on the 5 minutes I spent on the demo. This game is fun and funny as crap. :D Nate, hat's off to you on the FF BS. I feel you 100%. And you were right about FF3. My first FF experience was FF2 on SNES, so I was not familiar with the grindathon madness that the series was known for because it wasn't necessary in that game. Had I known prior to my frustration point, I prolly woulda grinded much more in the game instead of trying to power thru it. Lord only knows how I beat FF1 on PSP. And I think FF13 was my last traditional FF adventure too unless they go back and do a X2 or 12 style FF in the future. We'll see about versus13. Anyway, back to Costume Quest. :D |

Yeah, it autosaves, which is kind of frustrating when you have something to do in real life and desperately try to find some quest or event that'll autsave your game. I actually lost a half hour of gameplay when I started because I got the demo and then upgraded to the main game. Something went wonky with my save there and it had to save. :( |

Where dreams come to come true.

I'm so annoyed that I won't be able to do all I want to do in Atelier Rorona due to time in the game. Agh. :( I hear the New Game+ isn't so forgiving to giving you what you had back, so I'm kind of regretting finishing out this final year since there's still a ton I need to do in terms of exploration and friendship stuff, and I'm not terribly interested in replaying this game twenty times to see everything. |

Sands of Time is pretty solid. It's made me realize that Prince of Persia 08 was not the radical departure haters claim it is. |

I cannot stand this in games. Who the heck ever decided that was a good idea? :damnyou!: |

I am still wandering the wasteland of New Vegas. This game is just as much fun as Fallout 3 and I love the exploration. I have decided that I will probably not do any of the companion quests in this game, since they all seem (from reading on various forums) to be badly glitched. I don't mind though, since I played Fallout 3 alone and had a blast, so why would this game be any different? Aside from missing some side stories, I don't think it will matter. Who knows though, maybe I'll still decide to try a couple of them in the future, but so far my game is no less enjoyable for having not brought along the companions that I could. Cazadors are not the great evil pain in the butt that everyone says they are. If you shoot their wings with a shotgun (cripple a wing), they're about as difficult to kill as a radscorpion. Honestly, I have had more difficulty with groups of lakelurks. The hardest enemies for me to kill are robots. I have a feeling that I should be using energy weapons, but I haven't invested any points into that skill, nor do I carry any of those weapons, so I'm kind of screwed. Oh well, I'm sure that I can find a way to survive Repconn HQ. |

This is why I don't play those games. I want to like them so much, but FOEs absolutely ruin them. It breaks my heart a little bit. :( |

Prince of Persia is terrible. I can't even imagine this was good in 2003 or whenever it came out. It's got horrid cameras and ridiculously finicky platforming. When jumping off a pillar, you can jump in 4 cardinal directions. You'd think 25% of the pillar leads to each. Wrong. It's more along the lines of like 20%, 40%, 30%, 10% in bizarre groupings that don't even line up in the direction you'd think. In the most recent frustration I had to leap from one to another. Lining up N leaps me E. NE leaps me E. NNW tosses me E. NW tosses me N, but WNW tosses me W, so be careful. 5 pillars in a row of that with different directions and different orientations. With 5 redos from the dagger, I still can't get by. It's that bad. I've gotten repeated game overs on the simplest of platforming because the controls don't line up or respond in the wrong manner (repeated wall crawls instead of blocking). Every room is identical, there are about 5 enemies total and it's got a lot of "puzzles," which consist entirely of squint at the drab ass room until you notice an arbitrary ledge tucked out of the cameras path. Over and over. This game just sucks. I'm somewhat interested in the story and characters and that's about it. |

I thought Prince of Persia sucked too, so you're not alone in that opinion. |

I really wonder what puts me so damned out of sync with so many critically acclaimed titles so often. It's frustrating (cause to this date I still don't know if something's worth buying or not) and confusing (what am I missing that everyone else loves so much?). |

probably the fact that your tastes are more specific than the average gamer. I think many folks are happy as long as graphics are nice and the action is "badass." |

You know what sucks? The fact I've been gaming for a freaking decade and still can't tell if I'll like a game or not before I buy it. It's always a crapshoot. :( |
