LittleBigPlanet PSP and DJ Max Fever off and on. They're easy to pick up games, just what I need right now. :D Been needing a gaming fix for a while. |

I did not care for de Blob. I thought the lack of saving was ridiculous and that the levels became extremely reptitive. I remember digging the end, though, but that middle section was rough. |

End, damn you! FFV is a really solid game with a lot going for it, but it's just so goddamned slow. And the fact that they just took my freaking healer away from me for a dungeon for kicks is not helping things. I can't wait until I'm done with my backlog, so I don't feel obliged to game anymore. |

I just received my newest copy of Nintendo Power in the mail and this issue has a look back at the NES, since it is the 25th anniversary of the system. Reading the magazine has made me a little nostalgic; so I have started playing Zelda, which I have not played in a great many years. I'm thinking of playing a bunch of classic games for a little while, as those old consoles need some love too. |

I managed to play for 8 hours straight on Dragon Quest VIII yesterday (the longest of any game I've played in one sitting for at least a year or two). I just beat Dhoulmagus (I think), but I'm only like 40% through the walkthrough so it seems like I'm in it for the long haul. (btw I'm pretty effin pissed at the programmer who screwed up when setting the selling cost for Special Antidotes - the guide says it sells for 270 but in reality the base selling point is 83 gold coins. this really messes me up as I've spent a ton of time brewing 139 special antidotes to sell for big) |

Just finished up NCAA Football 10. I had already completely Gangsta'd my team to the point where I couldn't lose a game, so I figured I'd go for some of the harder achievements that I disregarded over time. Finally got the last one last night. Most of them were alotta fun to get once I figured out what had to be done. Especially the highschool football achievements. Those were tough because I couldn't use my beasted out team to plus my stats. I had to rely on good play calling and execution. Good challenge, good fun. I'm now playing Operation Flashpoint. Outside of the slight clunkiness that is the AI control scheme, it's a really well done game. I can't figure out at this point if enemies are spawning or if they are just coming from some of the tactical locations I was directed to avoid once I destroyed their air defense system. Either way, that would be my only 2 gripes. But outside of that, the production values are awesome. The way the story is presented in the beginning is dope and the gameplay requires you to understand basic infantry tactics like: Ensuring that you don't silhouette yourself. Properly using terrain to your advantage. Knowing the importance of cover and concealment. Gaining and maintaining tactical advantages and vantage points. I love that aspect. Those things are definitely missing from the shooters that are popular these days. But now I have a game that plays the way I would do it in real life. Just what I was looking for. I hope it stays dope. |

Scribblenauts is one of the only games I've ever thought was a complete and total ripoff. How anyone can charge money for what should be an internet program is beyond me. It's horrendous. It's so bad, it can't even be rightly called a game. |

I am currently playing LocoRoco. The game is super cute and fun, but I can already tell that if I were to try and collect everything, that this game would drive me to become violently insane. Even in the first few levels, trying to collect all 20 berries and keep them until the end of the level is really hard. I have gotten used to and enjoy the simple controls though. LocoRoco is going to be a game that I rush through to the end and then occasionally try to see if I can play the levels better later. I am not going to beat myself up over getting 100% though, because this would send me into a DCL style rage, and as I am strong enough to snap my PSP in half, it probably wouldn't be a good idea. |

So 4 hours in and Prof. Layton 3 is pretty sweet. I'm really digging it. I like the puzzles and the story is bonkers. It also looks like it's going to be a. pretty long and b. pretty heavily populated with puzzles. Plus, the puzzles that aren't hidden are in numerical order this time, so you can tell if you've missed one and go back to find it, unlike the last game. Plus, the 2 of the 3 minigames I've unlocked are the best so far. So a definite improvement over 2 and possibly over 1. We'll see when I get to the final puzzles to make that call. :king: |

Arkadian Warriors - This game sucks. It goes like this: 1. Get a quest from a dude or broad in the town 2. The quest ALWAYS involves going to some arbitrary dungeon to solve the townsperson's problem 3. Go to dungeon 4. Kill, Break or Fetch between 5 and 20 arbitrary items, statues or creatures 5. Return to town to complete 6. Repeat Mixed into that are some bossfights in certain dungeons. "Yay" I'd been itching to play this game for awhile. The only enjoyable part of this game is the achievements (and that's sad). Leveling takes entirely too long, there is no customization and Armor and Weapons are too dang expensive given the limited money you make at this point in the game. I should have read the reviews. :( |
